Clan's are a fundamental part of the villages and often some of the best role playing comes from the interaction between clan members and the feuds between clan's within villages and organizations. For those who feel the calling to create their own unique clan, a skeleton exists that once filled out can be posted in the Character Profile Subforum to await approval by a Village or Organization Leader.

What is a Clan?

A clan is a family of ninja who share common ancestry and as a result are bound together. Clan's maintain a number of secret training methods and techniques that they guard not only against foreign villages but often against other clan's even within their home village. Some clan's have even gone so far as to develop Bloodline Limits that members of other clan's are physically incapable of reproducing.

Clan Regulations

There are a number of clan regulations that Village Leaders are responsible for understanding. Due to this, Village Leaders must accept all clan's within their village in order to verify that they meet the Village Council regulations. If your Village Leader determines that your clan does not fit within the regulations or the theme that they have chosen for their village they may advise you to join an already existing clan or to wait until the regulations say that additional clan's may be created.

Regulations

  • Each village at the start is limited to 12 Clans and 4 Kekkei Genkai. This count is only for individuals who are active citizens of the village and does not apply to temporary guests.
  • After 30 characters have been created, 4 more Clans and 1 more Kekkei Genkai can be added to the count.
  • From that point onward for every 5 characters added 1 more Clan may be added to the count.
  • From that point onward for every 20 character added 1 more Kekkei Genkai may be added to the count.

Clan Alliances and Wars

At certain times clan's may form alliances with one another or wage wars against one another. Often this will result in members of the clan acting in a pre-prescribed way towards members of other clan's. This is not a reflection of your character, but merely an extension of the relations between your clan's and can lead to many interesting story lines.

Training and Melding

Training

Often members of a clan will choose to train solely with one another in order to further develop clan specific techniques. This is encouraged up to a point as it can develop unique bonds between clan members and provide automatic training partners for members newly entering into our community.

Melding

After members of a clan have graduated to the rank of Gennin, they are generally encouraged to spend more time training with fellow Gennin in order to develop techniques and strategies around teamwork and combine clan specific techniques that compliment one another. Often members of clan's that the Village Leader has historically seen compliment one another will be purposefully placed together in order to help in development.

General Avoidance

Lone Wolf

While it is often used as a story telling element, we encourage individuals to avoid the lone wolf mentality that comes with building extinct clan's. Many village leaders will not allow these sorts of clan's in their village due to the clan regulations and as a result it is often very difficult to build these clan's.

Jumping the Gun

Many who join our community jump to the conclusion that their idea for a clan is unique and will build their own clan without exploring the existing clan's to search for similarities. As a result there are often many clan's with overlapping abilities that could easily be merged together into a single all-inclusive clan. It is often much easier to search for an already accepted clan than it is to build your own and most clan leaders are more than willing to accept new members.

Clan Leadership

All clan's have their own unique hierarchy but every clan has a leader who is typically the individual who created the clan. In order to join a clan it is considered respectful to make a request to the clan leader before creating your character.
