I walk along the beautiful sandy beach, the sand squishing between my toes, i screw up my nose remembering that i really didnt like this sensation all that much, but i smile as i think of all the times that i had waged a personal wars against my enemies and i had trudged though mud and slime and Gods know what else... i sigh to myself and take up a beach chair and lay it back and let the sun kiss my skin relishing in its warmth, i close my eyes and doze

sitting against the trunk of a palm tree slightly shaded, but i sense her before i see her, her scent like wild fire and strawberries, i like my lips suddenly hungry, i slowly turn my head toward the sorce and i smile as i watch her sit then lay back on the beach chair, her black hair so perfect and like silk, i just want to run my fingers through it, her skin looks so delicious my fangs extend just from the thought of tasting her, i stand up and walk to her and stand at the end of her chair casting a shadow over her perfect body...

"Ode.." i start to say as i sit up, but as i take a breath i know its not him, i smell him and take his scent in deeply its smell only of darkness, a darkness that makes my skin crawl. i slowly lower my hand to the sand to find my sword, but in a flash almost as fast as i could move he has my wrist in his hand i pull away and roll to my feet on the otherside of the beach chair, my fangs extend and my nails sharpen, i snarl at him... but now that he is not in shadow i stop a moment and take him in... tall maybe 6 inches taller than me broader in the shoulders and chest, well sculpted arms and abdominals really very good looking, his eyes... i pause trapped in them... i know them, they know me, i swallow the lump that has formed in my throat but i cannot tear my eyes away,
"no this is not possble" i whisper to myself, and with that brief moment of lost concerntration he is on me pinning me to the ground "no" i whisper

i hold her tightly to the ground pressing my hips down on hers so that she cannot get the slightest leverage
"anadell, stop, please" i hiss in her ear, she writhes and twists and stuggles against me...
"you are not getting free!" i yell in her face "Gods damn you, you are so stubborn, ANADELL ITS ME!"
she stops struggling again but closes her eyes, i can smell the salty tears trying to escape her now closed eyes "no" she whispers again

"no" i whisper again and shake my head "NO HE DIED I WATCHED HIM DIE I BURNED HIS BODY, AND SLAUGHTERED ADAM AND mourned him.. for several millenia i all bu gave up the will for life..." and with that pause his hips let up just a little bit and i buck him off and roll to my feet and lunge for my sword and snatch it up just before he gets to me again and i hold it pointed at his throat
"YOU ARE NOT DARIEN, YOU ARE SOME SHAPESHIFTER!" i snarl just realising that my sword wont to anything to kill him maybe hinder him for a short time,i snarl and lunge, plunging the sword deep into his chest and i run and in mere moments i am out of the summertime resort and well on my way home, without one single glance behind me

i fall to my knees as the pain tears through me, i watch her run away....
i dont understand... she prayed to the Gods to bring me back, she prayed her heart out she wandered aimlessly for so many years, centuries, no longer... millenia
i fall further down onto my hands and drop my head in defeat.... my black tears falling onto the sand i pull the sword from my chest with a pained groan.. i collapse completely onto the sand as my heaving breaths slow back to normal and my wound heals...
the gods sent me here because they believe her to be in danger... a danger her hunger wont let her refuse.... i climb to my feet and pick up te sword and smile.... still using the swords that Marceny made for her.... i walk to reception and stop in front of a young girl at the desk
"where does Anadell live?" i ask her
"you mean the Queen, Queen Anadell?"
"yes" i say realising that she has finally taken her rightful place as Queen of these lands... i wonder if she still lives at the castle
"she lives in the castle..." before the girl could finish i leave thinking myself a fool for not remembering that she would never leave that place...
As i race towards the castle like a blurr to the human eye i come to a pause near a university when i smell the danger that the Gods sent me here to protect her from... not only that but i smell her....
