ow do you prove Color to a blind man?
When debating with someone about the existence of Psychic powers, mediums, prophets who can speak to God and the like, people will throw this question around easily.
You can’t prove color to a blind man. And therefor Psychics can’t PROVE to us, “normal people”, that they can talk to ghosts or whatever.
But here’s the thing: I CAN prove color to a blind man.
You could get a set of Crayons with braille on the sides (So the blind man knows which crayons are which). Tell the blind man to color a piece of paper any of the colors. Leave the room. The blind man would then chose one of the braille crayons and color the paper. There’s no way that a sighted person could know WHICH crayon he used. And yet I could walk back in the room and tell him what color he used.
And again.
And again.
It wouldn’t matter WHAT crayon he used. Or even if he colored the paper half one color, or half the other. There would be no way for me to SEE which crayon he used, but I would still be able to tell him again and again with 100% accuracy.
Any sighted person could do this, and with the same degree of accuracy, given they aren’t color blind.
Just because we can’t directly perceive something, whether it be color for a blind man, or the atmosphere of Neptune, doesn’t mean it can’t be tested and can’t be proven.
Psi and the like fail these kinds of tests consistently. Can they blame us for being skeptical?
