Ⓐ f t e rXXXⓎ e l l o w s t o n e Ⓣ h e Ⓢ t o r yThe year is 0000 AY or, as you might know it better, 2055. Why is it AY, you ask? After Yellowstone, of course. Yes, the almight volcano everyone knew as Yellowstone that once resided peacefully in the mountains of a serene country. The world was finally somewhat at peace. There were no wars, just tension. Everyone thought that everything was perfect- until earthquakes worldwide began to happen. No one knew why they were happening until a few scientists at yellowstone discovered a magma chamber that was growing. It used to be about tirty-four miles by forty-five miles, correct? Well, they had stopped monitoring the chamber a few years down the road and, apparently, it stretched. The magma chamber was one hundred, six miles by one hundred twenty-nine miles. They decided to not start a panic and kept it to themselves. But, eventually, the media got ahold of the information and soon enough everyone knew about Yellowstone's soon-to-erupt state. The volcano was dormant no longer. At first, little panic spread. Robberies and high-speed chases at worst. Then the earthquakes begun in January of 2054, and things went bad. People evacuated most of the United States, headed anywhere they thought was safe. Few people stayed behind, ignoring the government's warnings. Everyone knew that this eruption would be worse than any- it was the United States' own super volcano so what should one expect? The eruption began on Friday, November 13th, 2054. At first, lakes of lava oozed out of the crust, eliminating most greenery within a very, very large raduis. Then small volcanoes sprung up all around Yellowstone's caldera, creating a chain. Eventually, the whole caldera exploded in an instant. The eruption ended promptly on December 31st, 2054. Now that the eruption has stopped, though, the people around the world that survived are calling this year 0000 AY. Everyone around the world is in danger- not only of the ash, though, but of the toxic fumes. But who is in more danger than the few that stayed behind? No one, that is. And this is their story.

The Name: Hakai Akuma Endoresu The Candles: Twenty on August Nineteenth The Way: Hakai is a bit of a hardass. He tends to be cold and quiet, especially when around big groups of people, and he never really cared what happened to anyone but his little brother. Over Sakusei, he is quite protective. He gets defensive and offended easily which don't match up well with his temper. He's violent and aggresive, and not to mention he rarely forgives. He's stubborn and hard-headed, and he hates to admit when he's wrong. The Story: Born in the rugged terrian of Japan, Hakai was raised by a loving mother and distant father. Hakai was only three when his little brother was born, but he couldn't be more thrilled. As he and Sakusei grew up, Hakai got them into a lot of trouble- and nearly killed Sakusei several times! By accident, of course, Sakusei was the only thing the rough Hakai really loved. As the two aged, they began to see less and less of their father. He disappeared, eventually, and never came back. The two weren't effected by this but their mother was. She dropped into a stage of depression, refusing to eat and bathe. Eventually, she, too, died. By then, Hakai was already eighteen. A mature adult. He dropped out of school and got a job, hoping he would eventually be able to take Sakusei and himself out of this country. Luckily, by the time he turned nineteen, he could afford to tickets and a hotel suite in the U.S. Little did he know, though, Yellowstone was about to kill everyone in the area. Their plane landed in Denver, allowing them enough time to get situated in the new country before it all went down. And it went down hard. Ever since the eruption, the two Japanese brother have survived well. The ash didn't kill them and the pyroclastic flow didn't even near Colorado- at keast, not the southern part. But now Hakai wonders how long it will be before he loses his little brother, too. The Look: The Name: Sakusei Tenshi Endoresu The Candles: Seventeen on May Twentieth The Way: Sakusei is much different than his brother. Although he hardly ever leaves Hakai's side, he's a softie. He's sweet and funny and tends to get embarrassed easily. He's also the brains of the family, while Hakai is the brawn. Lucky, though, both of them got the beauty. Sakusei is more calm and relaxed than his brother, preferring to do sneak-attacks rather than jump someone head-on. All around, he's just the more appealing one. The Story: When Sakusei was born, he already had three people watching over him- his mother, his father and his older brother. Oldr by only a few years, though. Hakai took Sakusei on many adventures as a child- nearly getting him killed several times. But he knew he never meant it. Sakusei was impacted by their father disappearence at the age of fourteen, but not as badly impacted as his mother. Hakai wasn't fazed at all. As their mother dropped into depression, no one knew that Sakusei had found himself a girlfriend in school. She was the same age as him, fourteen, and they had become very close. Closer than many adults would think two fourteen year olds should be. And, eventually, Sakusei found himself in love with her. And she with him. They plotted running away, their perfect fantasies coming true, but all that was out the window when Sakusei's mother died. He had to break it off with the girl in order to help his brother, who still had no clue of the secret relationship. Sakusei, too, got a job and helped Hakai pay fair. They flew to the U.S. just weeks before the eruption, refusing to evacuate their newly-found home, and are still surviving. But for how long and at what cost? The Look:

The Name: Aislin De Fyre The Candles: Twenty on the 22nd of August The Way: Aislin, is very independant. She hated being helped- no matter the situation. She prefers to go solo, and is very hard-headed. She may be nice to you for the moment, but she will retaliate if something ends up wrong. So she's tempermental. The Story: Aislin was an orphan, after her parents deemed her a 'Dumpster Baby'. Learning this at a young age that the world was a cruel place. Aislin distanced herself. She hated the people at the orphanage. And out of blind fury and hate after she'd been unadopted for five years- she ran away. It was then Yellowstone erupted. No less than an hour after escaping- she saw the explosion- and found refuge up a nearby mountain. She still has several burns and scratches, and survives on the far east, high in the mountains. The Look: The Name: HiJinx "Jinx" Bones The Candles: Sixteen on the 3rd of March The Way: Jinx, or Jinxy, is consistantly arrogant. She is very sardonic, and when she wants to be- kind. Though, behind that laughing, smiling face, is a lonely teenager. She longs for a place to belong- and Maine just isn't cutting it. The Story: Jinx had a good, fun homelife. Her parents were loving- her friends caring. But even with the good surroundings...She felt lost. You see, Jinxy here was quite the outcast at school. She was too wierd for the normal, too normal for the wierd. She was caught in between. That all changed with the eruption. She watched from above as her parents were encased in ash- and allowed her lungs to be trashed with the minutes she stayed in the midst of the pandemonium. She now has terrible asthma, and tries to stay out of the town she once called home. Travelling with no real place to crash. The Look:

The Name: Katherine "Katy" Rose de Luca The Candles: Sixteen on February Fourteenth The Way: Katy is the sweeter of the de Luca sisters. She's gentle, shy and kind. She keeps to herself, preferring to sit back and watch everything play out rather than take action. She's closed-off, keeping feelings bottled up and secrets buried under fake happiness. She's usually a bright, happy, ditzy blonde without a care in the world when you don't know her, but she gets scared easily and doesn't talk to often. The Story: Nothing special or tragic ever happened in Katy's life- unless you consider her sister being diagnosed with chronic insomnia, chronic paresthesia, schizophrenia and anxiety big. Katy was twelve when that happened- all within a few months. She had to look after her sister for the longest of times, baby-sitting day-in and day-out. She was constantly getting yelled at for being a bad sister to Sylvia, ignored by her parents and laughed at at school. She was only better when her parents died. She was fourteen then. She and her sister moved in with their grandma and lived happily ever after- until Yellowstone erupted. Their grandmother died from ash inhilation, causing a liquid cement to form in her lungs and kill her. Now Katy doesn't know how she and Sylvia will get by. The Look: The Name: Sylvia Nora de Luca The Candles: Seventeen on October Thirty-First The Way: Sylvia is a literally crazy girl. She's normally optomistic and outgoing but, when any of her diseases begins to effect her, she can become any way she wants. Sometimes she's silent and depressed, others she's angry and violent. But most of the time she acts totally normal. She's very smart but a bit sadistic. She's constantly cutting herself open, and not because of her paresthesia. She loves the dark side stuff- corpses, death, blood, etc.. She's just a hard person to figure out, being independent and closed-off even if she is happy. She just doesn't like getting to know people in fear she loses them. The Story: Sylvia, being a very chronically ill mental patient, had been in and out of institutions while her sister was at school. She was diagnosed with chronic insomnia, chronic paresthesia, schizophrenia and anxiety all at age thirteen. When Katy was at school during the fall, winter and spring, Sylvia would be placed in asylums, hospitals and other care facilities. She was normally kicked out within a few weeks. During the summers, her sister would look after her- she was constantly being yelled at by her parents. When their parents died, Sylvia was still in bad shape. If anything, she'd gotten worse. They moved into her grandma's house until the eruption- now, nothing. The Look:

Sitting upon his roof with a surgical mask wrapped around his nose and mouth, Hakai surveyyed the damage that the eruption had caused. He blinked back bits of ash falling from the sky, crinkling his nose slightly as the scent of fire and burning flesh reached his nose. He shuddered, standing and hopping onto the ashen-covered ground. "Saku-chan!" he called out to his younger brother, gazing around. "We need to go into town to see if there's any department stores left!" he yelled, his rich voice echoing faintly in the silent area. He heaved a sigh. "I guess I'll go alone. Saku-chan, be careful out in the woods!" he yelled, shoving his hands in the pockets of his Slipknot hoodie and walked down the dirt path into town.
Sakusei looked up only when he heard the familiar yell of his brother. He didn't yell back, instead he kept playing in the 'snow'. He quickly adjusted the surgical mask, yawning slightly. It was about five. Give or take. Almost time for dinner. That was probably why Hakai had gone into town looking for food. They were running low, anyways. Not but a few granola bars and other stuff like peanut butter left over. He shrugged and turned out of the woods, scratching his head boredly. Maybe there was someone else that had survived the eruption... would he ever find someone like Yuki? Someone he loved more than anything? Someone who had mutual feelings? He doubted it, but hoped every night.
"Sylvie! Where are you!?" Katy's shrill shriek sounded loudly in the abandoned house that was once their grandmother's. She gazed around rapidly, chewing her plump bottom lip in slight fear. She couldn't have gotten far! the young blonde told herself worriedly, whimpering softly. "Sylv-EEEEEEE!!" she screamed when a hand clamped down on her small shoulder. She heard a faint whisper near her ear: "Shhh, Katy... You'll wake the ghosties..." Katy huffed unhappily. "Don't scare me like that again or you can do your own laundry!" she snapped- playfully, of course. She ruffled her sister's short, shaggy blonde hair before putting on a mask and skipping outside.
Sylvia chuckled darkly when Katy left. A sinister smile was on her face. She sat down in the dark, damp living room, laying tarot cards upside-down on the carpetted floor. She flipped a random one up- the Fool. Right-side up. She smiled softly. "New beginnings. Hopefully happy," she whispered, her voice gentle. Her smile disappeared. The ending to the last story wasn't very happy... She tried to shrug the thoughts off and pulled out a regular deck of cards. She splayed them out in correct order and began to play Solitaire, cursing under her breath whenever she got stuck but never once cheating the game. She prayed for a new friend- someone to play cards with... Other than Katy...

But he can't see past anyone. The Story: With his troubling twin, Jimmy, at his side, John had it good. Rich parents. Rich education. Accept he abused it all. He was a player, a jerk- even to his brother. When the volcano exploded...He lost it. Even Jimmy0- his only friend, wretched away from him. John now stays down in the city- hoping for death to come calling. The Look: The Name: Greyson "Grey" Manson The Candles: Sixteen on April 24th The Way: Greyson is usually quiet, concealed. He prefers to keep to himself, stay in the corners of the street, alone. And now- he tries to keep it that way. The Story: Grey was a nerd at school, bullied, hurt, and teased by a boy named John. He hated him. But his parents loved him- the nutured him into who he is. Losing them to that volcano...Well- it's just not right. Jinx kicked a stray rock within the ash, what seems like a dish-washing-rag wrapped around her mouth. She found herself still coughing softly when she made it to the old town. She glanced at the apartments, deemed them shelter, and started walking toward them.
Aislin plucked the last of the remaining fruits from the final tree. That was it. All the food- gone. She frowned. "I might actually have to leave for a town soon." She muttered to herself. The teen slung her bag of food over her shoulder and started to make her way back to 'home'.
Grey was coughing, he pulled his red-stained hand away, and almost stopped walking. "I...Have to..." He told himself aloud, before pushing up his scarf, "For...Survival..."
John kicked a toy doll aside. This place sucked. He let loose a sigh, which resulted in his lungs getting irritated. He put a hand over his mouth, and pushed his beanie down further, so it blocked some of the ash picking up in the wind. "Damn." He mutter, "This ain't so fun as I'd thought." he grumbled- finding an apartment complex for some shelter for now.

The Name:Annalee "Annie" Bella Carraway The Candles: Fifteen on May Sixteenth The Way: Annie is sweet and bubbly with a total optimistic outlook on life. She makes friends very easily since she finds it hard to really hate somebody. Even if they totally hurt her or get on her bad side. She has a bit of a short temper and is incredibly stubborn but she always apologizes for upsetting someone. Well, if they deserve an apology that is. She's a kind and free spirited child who doesn't let anything get her down. She tries to keep everyone on their toes so that they know there's still hope. To her, there's always hope even in the darkest times. The Story: When she was born, her parents were in a huge amount of debt. They could barely afford to take care of her sister or themselves. But her mother couldn't have an abortion. It went against all her beliefs. So her parents did what they thought best. They gave Annalee to an orphanage and put her up for adoption. For years she had traveled from foster home to foster home, living with new families and meeting new people. She always smiled and never dared to let that smile falter. Even when families gave her back and couldn't keep her. Sure she wanted more than anything to have a family who wouldn't just give up on her. But she knew that she had to be patient. Someone would keep her and care for her. It took years for Kimi to find the foster home she was in. Annie had no idea she had a sister or that she had even been looking for her. At the time, Annie was living with Denise who let both sisters live with her. Kimi was the one to cry that day but Annie just couldn't stop smiling. She was just happy knowing that there was someone who did care about her. But as life started getting better, the eruption happened. If Annie hadn't seen it, hadn't been able to warn them. They all would've died. Fortunately, they got out as quickly as possible. Leaving behind the past and now...well who knows? The Look: The Name: Denise Renee Sherrod The Candles: Twenty on December Fourth The Way: Denise is a woman who is calm and, in her own way, wise. She has her own viewpoint on many things and she's a very understanding person. She loves being able to help anyone she can yet she also knows who to trust and who to avoid. She's independent, gentle, maternal, and all around a nice person. She can be very guarded and protective but only when necessary. Though she may seem happy on the outside, she's truly worrying on the inside. The Story: Denise had a middle class family and grew up in a middle class life style. Her father was a farmer whom she helped with crops and plants. She loved her father very much and loved to spend time with him. As for her mother, well she never knew her. Her father always said such kind things about her even though the realization was that her mother was a drunk and had been involved in a lifestyle that got her killed. But she could tell her dad really loved her mom. And it pained him to even think about her. Especially since Denise had her mother's looks. Yet she had her father's gentle diligent personality and that's what made her such a wonderful person. Yet from her parents' tragic love story, she kept herself guarded. She never fell in love and still doesn't plan to. She moved out near Yellowstone when she was eighteen and lived in a small comfortable house she was proud to call home. She worked as a gardener and flourist to help save money to pay for bills and such. One day she realized how empty her house was and when she was walking to work, she spotted a young girl being taken away from a family. The girl didn't seem to upset and she didn't struggle. Though it was obvious that she wasn't related to anyone there. Denise walked over and offered to take the girl and adopt her. Ever since then, Annalee has lived with her and helped her out with simple little jobs she could do. Things were perfectly fine for both of them and she could tell she had really made Annie happy. Then there was the day Kimberly showed up. Kimberly was banging on Denise's door, shouting and panting at the same time. Denise calmly lead the girl inside and noticed how similar she looked to Annie. It wasn't until Annie walked into the room and Kimi instantly hugged her tightly, that she knew these two were sisters. Yet before they could finally live their happily ever after, the disaster happened. The eruption occurred and Annie came running in screaming about it. Luckily they had survived but Denise lost everything. Her house, her things, her memories. All disappeared except for the two girls she vows to keep safe and to find them a new home. The Look: The Name: Kimberly "Kimi" Ella Carraway The Candles: Eighteen on April Twenty-fifth The Way: Kimi is a feisty girl with a passionate and creative spirit. She never backs down from a challenge and she isn't afraid to take risks. She's a bit over protective at times and she can get herself into trouble a lot. She doesn't let anyone push her around or try to call her weak. She has a real bad temper and it sometimes gets the best of her but she tries hard to control herself. Deep down she really is a sweet girl. Just really scared. The Story: Kimi had lived a poor life without all the luxuries of even middle class families. Her parents strived to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. But things just kept getting worse and worse for them. Her father kept losing jobs and when he was hired, he was never paid much. As for her mother, well she'd do anything for money. Which is how she ended up having a sister. Annalee was pretty much a mistake. Nothing more than an accident. So they gave her up in a heartbeat since my mother was too afraid of abortion. What would her church think of her? That was her excuse. Kimi had to sit back and watch them give away her sister to an orphanage and she vowed from that day she'd return to help her escape. When she did return however, Annie was with another family. And it seemed that Kimi was always taking one step forward and two steps back. She was going from house after house after house, just trying to get her sister back to help her live a better life. Though she finally was able to catch up with her sister at a quiet little home in Yellowstone. She was more than ecstatic to see her sister already so grown up. Even if she didn't look completely like her sister. After searching for years, she was not going to lose her sister again. So even though Denise offered, Kimi demanded that she let her stay with them. And things were happy after that. Until Annie ran in screaming about the eruption and Kimi didn't hesitate to leave. She grabbed her sister and Denise as she ran out of the house as fast as she could. Denise began to grasp the situation and ran along with her, a bit faster though while Annie stumbled behind. But they made it out safely. Now they don't know where to go next except that Denise promised them they'd find a new home. If only she knew where. The Look:

Denise had her jacket covering her mouth as she walked ahead of the girls through the woods. Her home and all her memories were destroyed. Burned to ashes and remains ever since the eruption. She couldn't focus on what she lost right now. She had to keep what she had left alive by any means necessary. She was holding onto Annie's hand as she lead them through the woods carefully. "No need to worry ok. We're going to be just fine. Just keep walking. And keep your mouths covered." she said through her jacket as she kept a steady pace. Annalee followed behind Denise, gripping her hand tightly while her other hand was holding a ripped half of Kimi's scarf over her mouth. She nodded slowly and you could clearly tell she was smiling under the cloth. She turned to look over at her sister who was walking beside her calmly. Even though her sister looked emotionless and brave, Annie could see through her charade. Kimi was truly scared and she could feel it. She smiled at her through the scarf as well to reassure her sister. "Come on! It's not so bad! Just think of it as a way to start over. A way to have a better life. We just have to work hard for a long while." she said through the cloth as she coughed a bit but didn't falter from her happy composure. Kimberly listened to Denise and then her sister. She kept her half of the scarf over her mouth as she nodded slowly. She then tilted her chin up and chuckled as if none of this bothered her much. She felt nothing but fear chill her spine and churn her stomach but she didn't dare show it. She just kept herself looking strong and unwavered for her little sister. Kimi didn't want her little sister to be the one to look after her and to keep her feeling safe. She was supposed to be the one protecting her. Not the other way around. But she knew she was more scared than either of the others.

Hakai heard faint voices coming from the forest as he entered the town. He blinked his shock away, ignoring the fact that other people might be alive. He focused on keeping himself and Sakusei alive and healthy. It'd be truly hrad, though. Sakusei was constantly getting distracted. Hakai sighed, shoving his hands deeper in his pockets. He bliked again, little bits of ash clinging to his dark eyelashes. He wondered when the ash would stop falling... He wondered when it'd all be safe again- probably not for a very, very long time.
Sakusei looked up when he heard voices near him. He was almost out of the woods and to his apartment complex but... female voices? His mouth dropped under the surgical mask, his pale blue-green eyes widening. "Hello?" he called, his voice scratchy and muffled by the mask. "Anyone out there?"
Katy crept into the ash-covered town not far from their grandmother's house, shoving her pretty blonde locks out of her face. She mumbled something to herself, heaving a sigh. "I hope Sylvie is okay..." Even though she'd just seen her older sister a few minutes ago, she was constantly wondering and worrying- what if her paresthesia began to act up? At one time, when it did, Sylvia had scratched the whole top lay of skin on her arm off... She was in such a pain for the rest of the week. Katy shuddered, whimpering softly.
Sylvia rubbed her eyes sleepily with a bandaged hand. She thought she heard the faint voice of a boy... Maybe she was crazy- Oh, wait! She was. But the blonde slowly got to her feet, the frogs on her socks wriggling, and crept to the door. Being clothed still in her Eeyore pajama pants and Happy Bunny tank top, she grabbed a scarf and put it over her mouth as she stuck her head out the window. "If anyone's still alive out there, you can come here for shelter!" her voice called out into the ash storm.

Annalee looked up through the ash as she heard a boy's voice asking if anyone was out there. She tried to call back but she ended up coughing at first. She then started running ahead of the others while trying to keep the scarf over her mouth. "Hello! Oh please tell me you can hear me!" she called out though her words were a bit muffled because of the scarf. She didn't care who the boy was because there was a chance he could help them. Then again, there was a chance he probably couldn't. But she needed to find out before just assuming. Denise felt Annie's hand slip from her grasp and she watched the little red head run away. She didn't realize what she was doing until she heard the boy's voice as well. She didn't hesitate to run after Annie. "Annalee! Get back here! You can't just run off like that! We don't know if we can trust him or not." she said the last part quietly since she didn't want the boy to hear or be offended. She tried to catch up to Annie but she was already too far ahead of her. Kimberly froze for a moment in hesitation as she saw her sister and Denise run off. They were no longer in sight and she was beginning to worry. She shook her head and began running after them. She needed to keep an eye on her sister. She had to make sure she was safe. And those were the only thoughts running through her head as she ran, stretching her leg muscles which were still sore from the last time she had to run. But that was before the eruption. Before all of the destruction.

Jinx stumbled down, almost falling flat before making her way to one of the building- she believed it was a very old Wal*mart. Amazed that one of those old buildings were still up- she pushed through the doors and stumbled in- coughing.
Aislin had packed the remaining food, water, and clothes that weren't totally destroyed into a battered suitcase. She pinned up her coat and started walking down the hill for the first time..In a very long time.
Grey raised his head and heard a voice, he dug his heels into the ground and started running. He wasn't supposed to be running. He saw the house come into view and started waving his hands up and down. "Here!" He choked out, "I'm here!" He spotted the girl with a bandage on her arm and ushered himself foreward to meet her. "T-thank you." He told her through the rag he'd tucked in his shirt.
John made his way inside one of the apartments and shook his head, letting the ash coating him freely fall. He exhaled softly, and look a deep breath. "At least the air is cleaner.."
