Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Announcer.
In this area, you will engage your opponents in battle. However, before you run out into the fray to turn one another into processed meat, there are some rules by which I expect you to abide.


THE RULES OF THE GAME:
[As of 02/03/10]

Before we begin, let me remind you that Auto-hits, power-playing, god-moding and any other such disregard for the rules of combat will NOT be tolerated.

Players with Multiple Characters must post their Name and Class as well as their Current Position before each character's Post is made.

Use the 'Random Number' Option under Post Action.
Lowest=1, Highest=10.
Evens are Hits, Odds are Misses and the higher the even number, the higher the damage.

Also, rolling a 10 will produce the following effect:

Sniper: Headshot at 100% charge.
Spy with Ambassador: Headshot.
Spy with Knife: Backstab.
Demoman: Enemy gibbed.
All other classes, all other weapons: Critical hit.

Once your post is made, you must wait for your opponent to react.

Should any dispute come between two or more players regarding the rules, please NOTIFY ME, JEFF, OR ANIMA IMMEDIATELY.

In the Battlefield roleplay there's a specific system for determining damage done.

You have five states of health: Fine, Hurt, Injured, Wounded and Respawning.

When one character attacks another, the attacker uses the Random Number from the Post Action menu to generate a number between 1 and 10. If your number is EVEN (2, 4, 6, 8, 10) the hit connects and damage is calculated. If your number is ODD (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) the attack misses.

Damage is calculated using the following system.

When the numbers of a sequence of posts are even and add up to 10 (i.e. 4 + 6, 2 + 6 + 2) or more, the target's health is reduced to zero. The higher the even number, the higher the damage.

Rolling a 10 will produce the following effects:
Sniper: Headshot.
Spy with Ambassador: Headshot.
Spy with Knife: Backstab.
Demoman: Enemy gibbed.
All other classes, all other weapons: Critical hit.

Healing will follow the same lines. Rolling a 2 will gain the person being healed 2 points, a 4, 4 points, and so on.

Special cases:
Baseball: If an 8 or a 10 is rolled, the target will be "stunned" for a period of one of their posts. When a target is stunned, they may not roll a number for their next turn.

Status Effects (Buffs, BONK, Ubercharge, etc.)

BONK:
Available to Scouts only. The player rolls one 4-sided die. The player is rendered immune to damage for the duration of the number of their posts equal to the number rolled. This action can only be performed once every five pages. (Page count restarts each time.)

The "Life Line" goes like so:


Fine/Hurt/ Injured/Wounded/Respawning
Fine/Hurt/ Injured/Wounded/Respawning
Fine/Hurt/ Injured/Wounded/Respawning
Fine/Hurt/ Injured/Wounded/Respawning
Fine/Hurt/ Injured/Wounded/Respawning


Now the 'Hit' Numbers according to the the rolls:
Fine- Misses/Etc/Full Health
Hurt- 2/4
Injured- 4/6
Wounded- 6/8
Repawn/Dead- 10

If someone is hit with a total equaling or above 10, they're dead.
Like for example, you're 'Fine', and hit with a 4. Next shot, the person gets a 6 or an 8. That would equal 10 (or 12), and you would have to respawn.

Healing rolls act the same as hits. The larger even you roll, the more HP you get healed.
