On August 19, 2010 a transport vehicle left from Hagron Corp's leading biomedical facility. With a highly classified biochemical weapon on-board and followed by an armored convoy, departed the facility at 4:00 a.m.. Making it half-way through New York City, the convoy was hit from the side by a civilian SUV, running a red light. The SUV hit the transport vehicle with enough momentum knocking the container holding the biochemical weapon off of its trailer. Sending the trailer into a roll, destroying cars in its wake, and rupturing the biochemical weapons container, releasing a deadly mutation into the air. The effects weren't instantaneous, allowing enough time for the Hagron Corp to send a team to clean up the mess, only to be sent to their deaths. Not minutes after they arrived at the container, the pedestrians from around the crash site, began spewing bile from their mouths and convulsing violently, dieing before help could arrive. As the team begins to quickly contain the situation, the dead bodies came back to life, lashing out against anything living near them. Passerbys gathered and watched in awe as the team were torn to shreds in front of them, only to be chased, by the dead.
Several months have passed and the virus has spread from coast to coast and county to county infecting everyone that falls victim to the bite.
A team of six is dispatched into the area to covertly find and ascertain two biomedical engineers. Escorting them back to a secret Hagron Corp biomedical facility, somewhere in Iowa. If the team were to meet sudden insurmountable odds, then they would be given radio silence and regarded as lost souls among the dead.
