~*Though her secret hero identity was safe for now, her social identity was somwhat of a craze at the moment...
Elizabeth Wayne, the CEO of WayneTech in her dead twin's absence, was striding up the hallway to her office in a chic' new red dress and some classy heels.
It was an unspoken policy of her family to NEVER wear the colours of your costume in everyday life lest someone made a connection, therefore, any blatantly purple outfits wereout.
Some had attempted to call her the Queen of Gotham, but she didn't like that name, to be honest. A smile caressed her lips as she thought of her Ward's reaction to that statement...of course, the teenager had been goignthrough a 'Xena-phase' at the time...but she liked the whole idea that she would automatically be assumed a Warrior Princess...
Ridiculous, but if it made her happy...
Speaking of her ward...where on Earth was she right now?
Hannah was supposed to return from that silly little Sidekick Club -The Teen Titans, they styled themselves- seveeral hours ago... Her phone went off, letting her know there was an encoded message waiting behind the inane babble of the text she had just recieved...
Plugging the item into her laptop the second her office door was shut and bolted, deft fingers clicked over her keys as the decryption logorithms were activated...
Her eyes widened in both surprise and anger...yet also a small amount of pride at the teen's audacity...
The message simply read:
'Elizabeth/Mother,
Unrest on Tremaria.
Astrol has commenced a mission to Tremaria to save Sphyria's family...please don't kill any of us, it's what's right. You know it too.
Again, Sorry I'm disobeying you and please don't kill us,
Hannah'
Something twitched under her eye, but her expression fell to blank. Swiftly checking her schedule for any upcominf appointments, she was relieved to find none and slipped two fingers under the desk to find the hidden keypad.
Tapping in the code, she felt more than saw a hidden panel slide out from behind an austere bookcase...
As the familiar purple and black costume slid into view, her grim expression gave way to a small, tight, smile...
This was a job for The Kestrel...
Nightingale better just hope and pray she didn't ground her for LIFE!*~
