Well, the basic story is as follows:
After a period of horrible global crisis, a somewhat sketchy man came to be the ruler of the planet, essentially. He helped the planet to recover from what had devastated it, and then made it a little better than it was before. Then he started making rather shifty moves; killing people who didn't agree with his ideas, assimilating the armed forces of countries and destroying those that wouldn't join up with him, and so on. This ruler is actually the Antichrist, although only a sparse few groups and individuals know about this. He also has an assistant of sorts. If you've ever read the Dark Tower series all the way through, it's kinda like the relationship between the Crimson King and Flagg/The Walkin' Dude.
We'll say that one of these groups that didn't join was the CIA. Now, the CIA, for the most part, got its s**t ******** up. However, being that the CIA is full of sneaky people, several hidden cells of CIA agents survived the purging of their organization. One of these surviving cells, which I haven't decided on a name for yet, is the focus of the story, with its objective being to take down the Antichrist and his number two.
Naturally, because the Antichrist is involved, there'll be a spot of magic/supernatural crap. Also, awesome high tech stuff and fighter jets and helichoppers and s**t. Yaaaaaaay. Also, I'm going to work the Kennedys into this somehow. I mean, I'm fairly certain that all of the Kennedys that have run for President of the U.S./become President have been killed. Little fishy, eh? Must've been the Antichrist.
Anywhazzles, I'll get more stuff about the setting and crap up a bit later. It's kinda late, so I have to go to sleepy-sleep.

So... Satan controls the world? Why is the CIA against the regime?
I haven't seen the movies but I can throw in a character. What sort of characters are you looking for?

Pretty much, yeah. 'Course, most of the remaining population of the world doesn't believe him to be Satan.
It wouldn't necessarily be the CIA against the regime. It'd just be one of the CIA's surviving cells, augmented with members brought in from wherever they could be found. There'd be other groups fighting against the regime, naturally, but they'd be few, far between, and pretty ragtag.
I'm not sure as to what characters I need right now. For now, I'd just like to try to iron out some plot details and stuff with some constructive criticism.
So yeah, setting. For now, I'm going to say that the global crisis was some kind of exchange of nuclear missiles, and that many areas of the world were turned barren. The regime, using its influence, fortified several major cities of the world and expanded them a fair bit. The cities, some of the only safe places left on the planet, are largely filled with the regime's supporters.
Outside of the cities, there are still occasional pockets of radiation, and the land is pretty uninhabitable. There isn't much good soil for crops, and there isn't much good grass to feed livestock with, so life isn't easy. Most of the anti-regime groups are based in these wastelands, because the regime doesn't really give much of a s**t about the wastelands.
Because the Antichrist and his right-hand-man can't be everywhere, they have "nobles" that manage other cities for them.
Aaaaaaaaaand I'm tired again now, so I'll go sleepy and figure out more s**t later.

So, what do you mean by Antichrist? Is it a human that people call the Antichrist because he's evil or is he actually the spawn of Satan or whatever?
The setting sounds interesting. When is it set?

By Antichrist, I mean someone who could possibly be the Antichrist depicted in the Bible/Qur'an due to his having supernatural powers. And he's pretty damn evil.
This'd probably be set...maybe twenty to fifty years from the present day. Quite a lot can happen to the world in twenty years.

So he is the Bible/Quran's Antichrist?
Fair enough. I was just wondering what level of technology there would be.
What exactly happened in the apocalyptic(?) disaster or is that still under development?
