Wei Kun Lian doesn't work like many other shops, which put up a hiring thread only when they truly feel they need new staff. Instead, at Wei Kun Lian, we have a forum dedicated to this idea, where anyone may come in and post to show that they can work in our shop. It is our intention to pick from this forum whenever we need new staff for whatever reason, and we will keep this post updated with what we are looking for. However, please be aware when you post a thread in this forum that we will not pick you just because you've posted answering something we 'need'. As shopowners, we are very picky people about the staff we hire and the way the shop runs, and we won't compromise it just to have someone in a position.
Through this thread, you'll find expectations for the various positions we're looking for, as well as a quick explanation of the pay we intend for a position to recieve. Read it all very carefully, please, and when you're ready, gather up any and all of the forms you need and post them in a thread of your own in this forum. Title it clearly with your name and if it will fit, the positions you're hoping to fill, and wait. We will contact you in your thread, once, to make sure you're aware that it has been seen. After that, we will only contact you in the thread, or via whatever private means of communication you've asked us to use, if we are considering your application and want to discuss things further.
Not everyone will get hired who posts here. Indeed, I'll go so far as to say most will not. But we still invite you to try, all the same.
>>>>>Steps to Work Here 1. Check the requirements and expectations for the position you want. 2. If you can handle them, copy the appropriate form(s). 3. Create a new thread titled with your name and the positions you're after, and paste the form into the first post, then fill it out. 4. Samples or additional samples may be posted in the second post of your thread. 5. Keep your thread reasonably up to date on your status and wait. We will post once in your thread to let you know that we've seen it. 6. When we're ready to hire for any of the positions you want to fill, if we decide you may be right for the job, we'll contact you privately and discuss hiring you. At that point, as a colorist, you may recieve one of our templates to color/edit to show us you're right. 7. The decision will eventually be made, and you might be one of the new staff. If not, we invite you to continue applying.

We will occasionally look for an artist to deal with certain aspects of the shop. Our current needs are simple. We would like to find an artist who can edit three outfits per Yao Long onto our dragons, in a style in keeping with our templates and lineart. We are looking for traditional Chinese garb, and there would be a simple working-man's outfit, a more formal outfit, and an extremely formal outfit. Our shop is based in an alternate reality of ancient China, so we do want some serious attempts to be made to have the clothing be in keeping with our world.
For this, we will be happy to pay a negotiable flat fee, and we will start the negotiations by hearing your initial offer.
Additionally, we need an artist to draw 13 forms of dim sum, listed on the front page of the shop, and one tea (likely in a teacup, perhaps with a pot nearby). Again, here we are looking for specific items which will likely take some research to draw.
For this, we will be happy to pay a negotiable flat fee, and we will start the negotiations by hearing your initial offer.
