>>>>>General Rules
Breedings must comply with Gaia ToS and shop rules.OO
The owners of the parents in a breeding may not trade their new eggs for gold or Gaia items. Pet trades and art trades are allowed.OO
The owners of the parents in a breeding may keep all children if they wish, with the exception of any newbie eggs claimed. However, we do encourage you to gift extra eggs out to friends, or plan events to home them, in order to expand our shop.OO
If there is a dispute about who eggs belong to, shop staff will step in and do our best to reach a fair decision. In most cases, the person or persons who paid for the breeding will be allowed to have the final say in where the egg belongs.OO
The owners of both parents in a breeding must be amenable to the breeding before it will go forward. We require either a note in a plotting thread or a post in the breeding thread stating permission to breed from the parent not posting for the breeding.OO
A trade must be started before the colorist will start on your breeding, unless the breeding is free. Free breedings are uncommon, and will not be granted to people just for asking for one.OO
In all breedings, newbie eggs are allowed. However, the owner of the newbie egg must be named on the spot. A newbie counts as a person with 0 Long at the time of the breeding claim.OO
Roleplay eggs are available, but the roleplay must be finished or very close to it before the breeding claim is made. You may not claim a roleplay egg and then start the roleplay.OO
Yao Long may cast a spell that grants the parents an extra egg in a clutch. This must be done through roleplay, and the spell may be claimed by either the mother or the father or both, but only one spell may be claimed per breeding. This spell does not fade, however, so you may claim a spell long before you claim a breeding spot.
>>>>>Common Breedings
Available to heterosexual couples only.OO
In a common breeding, the colorings and markings of the parents are likely to show up in some way on the children.OO
Common breedings have a base clutch size of 2-4 eggs, and a potential maximum clutch size of 10 eggs.OO
All of our steamed buns are available to be used by the parents, resulting in larger or more specific clutches.OO
Lifematings will increase the clutch size by one egg, but lifemates are magically bound together and may never breed with any Long but their mate.OO
Newbie eggs, roleplay eggs, and spell eggs are available to increase the clutch size.
>>>>>Surrogate Parent Breedings
Available to homosexual couples only.OO
In a surrogate breeding, the colorings and markings of the parents are likely to show up in some way on the children. There is a small chance that the colorings and markings of the surrogate parent may also show up on any of the children.OO
Surrogate breedings have a base clutch size of 2-4 eggs, and a potential maximum clutch size of 10 eggs. OO
Steamed buns are available to be used in these breedings, and may only be used by the surrogate if it is a surrogate-mother, and requires a mother specifically to eat.OO
Lifematings will increase the clutch size by one egg, but lifemates are magically bound together and may never breed with any Long but their mate.OO
Newbie eggs, roleplay eggs, and spell eggs are available to increase the clutch size.OO
Unless given an egg by one of the couple in the breeding, the surrogate's owner has no claim on any eggs in a surrogate breeding.
>>>>>Adoption
Available to heterosexual and homosexual couples, and single-parent homes.OO
In an adoption, eggs are adopted from outside sources, resulting in random markings and colorations. In most cases, an adoption will be the result of a single breeding, so that the children will look related, but there is a small chance that the eggs in an adopted clutch are from multiple parents, resulting in very disparate markings.OO
Adoptions have a base clutch size of 2-4 when adopted by a couple, or 1-2 when adopted by a single parent. For couples, the potential maximum clutch size is 6 eggs. For single parents, the potential maximum clutch size is 4 eggs.OO
No steamed buns are available to be used in adoptions.OO
Newbie eggs and roleplay eggs are available to increase the clutch size. Spell eggs are not.OO
Single parent adoptions are more costly due to the taxing nature of the responsibility.
