Appearance:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Character: The Man - Whore
Puppeteer: Walkinthevoid
Name: Kalyan Elwood (Kay, or Kaylee)
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Relationship Status: Single... and looking for your love, baby.
wink Likes: Kay would describe himself as a subtle man of many likes, if you ever asked him that question. Depending on the situation he likes candlelight, long walks on the beach, dancing, horseback riding, watching the stars... as long as it seems romantic, he’ll admit to liking it. In truth, the answer is far more complicated.
Nothing pleases Kalyan more than a conquest, be it literal or figurative. Nobody gets to be where he is in the social ladder by being
nice. There’s something really rather satisfying about executing the perfect plan, watching a person or organization fall right into your trap, and watching them burn for it. Not that burning is all Kalyan does; sometimes promoting a company or person is what is needed, and watching that person rise to the potential that they have been given is rather satisfying, especially when you know that the only reason they have what they have is you, and you can take all of that away in a heartbeat.
Of course, romance comes into this as well. Romance is like hunting to Kalyan. The prey is selected, watched and separated from the group. Then it is time to swoop in for the chase, which is the most thrilling part of the whole business; once the conquest has been won, the game is no longer fun. Then it is time to move onto the next prey, and so on, and so on.
Kalyan loves knowledge, for knowledge is power; with the right piece of information a man can kill a monarch (Or at least depose one). Book learning has never had any appeal for Kalyan; when would he ever need to know what the square of a right triangle is, or how big the wattle on some bird is? The real knowledge is in the people. Some men can tell a man’s occupation just by looking at them. They can say your shoe size, your marital status, even what you had for breakfast just through careful observation. Kalyan is not one of these people, but he employs these people on a regular basis. For some reason, the Sherlock Holmes type of people can never hang onto their money, and they can never resist a challenge. No, Kalyan would never do the dirty work of collecting the information, but once he has it he knows exactly what to do with it.
Kalyan has a penchant for the finer things in life. He has never gone camping (Heaven forbid!), never slept in a bed that was not four – poster, king sized and did not have a feather pillow, and never eaten at a three star restaurant. His suits are of the finest quality, and high fashion to boot; he never goes without one. He would sleep in them if it wouldn’t ruin them. If it doesn’t cost, it mustn’t be worth it. Yes, he would admit that he throws his money around, but he is the spoiled younger son. He was born into wealth, and thanks to his father’s savvy for business, he has been able to keep him and his sons in the money – why not use it? It’s not like money doesn’t grow on trees.
Dislikes: Kalyan is as fickle as a cat in just about every situation. Things have to keep his interest, or he’ll (as a best-case scenario) remove himself from the situation, and amuse himself elsewhere. He comes across as a rather impulsive individual, of course. He would rather go sky – diving without a parachute than attend a three hour board meeting. Shuffling papers is not what he does. Kalyan wants what he wants, and he wants it now.
Food has to be just right to satisfy this man’s palette; not too spicy, not to bland. Not too creamy, not too acidic, just enough vegetables, salt on his meat. If he even wants meat. If one was a fan of the musical “Cats” (Which Kalyan isn’t), think of the Rum Tum Tugger.
In the list of things that Kalyan doesn’t like, the cold would feature rather highly. The chill of winter is something that he fears even in summer, ever since an ice – skating incident on a partially frozen pond. When the cold threatens Kalyan rugs up; fur coats, mittens, long underwear, the works; sometimes it may seem a little extreme, but for Kalyan, his personal comfort comes before all else. Heat though; he loves heat. He can’t get enough of it, but doesn’t like the look of a tan, so sunscreen is a must on any day spent outside. If only they could make a sunscreen that smelled better; he would pay a fortune for that.
Kalyan hates it when people are ever serious. Life is too short to waste frowning and worrying about what is “right”, “moral” or what is “illegal” and what ventures will “end up with him in gaol”. He would much rather live his own life, and see who can keep up. Kalyan will try anything once.
Kalyan hates people who he classifies as “hangers on”. To fully understand the term, a few examples will have to be provided; the term is so broad that if it were used frequently, it could have consequences that closely mirror McCarthy-ism. A hanger on ranges from the woman that Kalyan has grown tired of, and refuses to leave him alone despite several hints (both subtle and un-subtle). A hanger - on is the man from the paper that took pictures outside the window when he was –ahem- visiting the former vice president. A hanger on is a personal assistant that personally assists him to the point where he is fired. A hanger on is a girl in a party that looks at him like he is a piece of meat.
Habits: Kalyan is a creature of the night. Perhaps it is the decadent lifestyle he leads; parties, functions, dancing, drinking, dinner... the day holds no sway over this younger son. He never rises before midday, and as such his body clock is set quite a few hours ahead (or behind) everyone else.
He has the disconcerting habit of wearing red contact lenses, just to see how people will react. It has the added bonus of attracting women who mistake him for a vampire. These women he plays with mercilessly, taking them on a night-long whirlwind romance that usually ends badly. He enjoys thinking up different ways to be pointlessly cruel to these people, leading them so far astray that it they may never come back out of the rabbit hole.
Kalyan always carries a comb with him. His hair is his most prized possession, even dearer than his precious suits. The comb is made of ivory, and has intricate designs of fey and other creatures of faerie carved into the object. It is the only present that was ever given to him that he has kept over the years.
Bio: Kalyan is the youngest child of the big telecommunications tycoon, Thomas Elwood. He was born in india (Where the company is based) but grew up all over the world, living in Tokyo, Paris, New York, Beijing...
He grew up without his father, living with his mother Eileen Elwood, and his oldest brother Jamaal.
Jamaal and Kalyan grew up together, they were almost twin – like they were so close. Kalyan, the ever – curious younger brother, got Jamaal into so many scrapes that the pair lost count – but Jamaal loved his younger brother.
Jamaal was a very serious child, preferring to sit inside and read while Kalyan went off and got lost in forests, or in shopping centres, or wherever they happened to be. Kalyan would always find something interesting for his brother to see, some new game that they could play – at the expense of other people, of course.
As Kalyan grew his games became more and more elaborate; he was learning about how far he could push people, how much he could twist them to his will. Jamaal inevitably followed behind, but eventually Kalyan’s games became far too twisted for the boy.
It had started with them kidnapping a maid; a young girl from a poor family, some nobody that no-one would miss. There was no reason to the kidnapping; Kalyan did it just because he could. He kept her in a warehouse on the shadier side of town, kept her there for months. The police had even given up on finding her.
Kalyan wanted to play with the girl, stick needles into her, pump her full of drugs. “It’s only a little morphine.” He said, toying with the needle. “We could beat her afterwards, and she wouldn’t feel a thing.” The look in the fifteen year olds eye said that that was just what he was planning. Jamaal just left.
The place was never the same after that, and the pair never really spoke to each other again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Character: The Klutz
Puppeteer: ShadowintheDeep
Name: Sibel Bennet
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Relationship Status: Married to her work, but otherwise single.
Likes: I suppose I’ll start with the simple things and food is probably one of the simplest. I love fine food; I grew up eating horrible food because that is all we could afford and I will never go back to that. Chinese would be my favourite but I rarely have it, I also love seafood and lots of vegetables, especially roasted. I don’t mind spiciness but I honestly don’t eat food to hurt myself, food that bites back does not really appeal to me.
I enjoy bright cloudless days in both summer and winter and I prefer sunshine to overcast. On sunny days I tend to get things done better, work harder and it generally puts me in a better mood.
I love finding out about things that people would usually like to keep a secret, which is probably what makes me such a good journalist. There is so much power in knowing the little things about people and plenty of benefits with using this information against people. My insatiable curiosity has usually been a benefit but I’ve made a few powerful enemies from some of the things that I’ve found and blackmailed. Oh well, nobody said it was without risk and I myself don’t shy away from a good risk. Risks can either make or break a person and I’m rooting for the make.
I like getting up early; to me it feels like I have wasted my day if I stay in bed past nine. There is so much to do and I don’t want to miss out. I actually rarely stay in my apartment anymore, save for sleeping and I’ve been travelling a lot recently, for work purposes of course, but I am always on the go and getting things done.
I prefer place with style and comfort and a modern look. I don’t really have the patience for art but I appreciate style. Style is an important thing in my life: to express myself with my appearance with elegance and sophistication. I take pride in my appearance and though I have two left feet which for some people would ruin all appearances of elegance, it can be considered as part of my charm.
Dislikes: Well for a start I’m going to say: never offer me a cup of tea. I hate it, in all of its flavours and types; it all tastes like boiled grass to me.
I hate Dancing and if you don’t want to go to hospital in a stretcher then I recommend that you don’t dance with me.
I have never understood how people can have cats as pets, truly obnoxious pests. My roommate had a cat and she was a spoilt, nasty creature. My dislike of cats might have something to do with the “incident” when I was a child, but I think that regardless of that traumatic experience I’d still not like the creatures anyway.
I have Astraphobia. If you don’t know what it is then good, it’s hard enough without the ridicule.
Finally I hate it when things don’t go my way. I try very hard to achieve my goals so god forbid you step in my way. I didn’t get to where I am today by being nice, you have to push to get what you want or be trampled. I’m not just a survivor, I’m an achiever and I get things done.
Habits: Okay, I might be annoying sometimes but when I listen to music I tap my feet, only when I’m sitting down though. Just because I don’t like and cannot dance doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy music so deal with it.
I won’t leave the house or go outside without first checking the weather forecast. Sometimes it can be inconvenient but I just cannot go out without checking first.
When I’m doing work I tend to play with my hair, putting it up and taking it out again while I figure out problems and I always have a note pad and pen handy. You never know when you’ll need to write something down and it helps me keep organised.
Bio: Sibel came from a poor background but her talents and a good education soon lead her to the journalism career where she excelled, gaining her an expensive apartment and a position of power over the masses. You could say that the power has gone to her head and she would be what some people call ‘corrupt’ but she prefers to term it as ‘aspiring’. Sibel has no issue with blackmailing people nor hurting or manipulating people to get out of them what she wants to know. She is not a fan of romance but she doesn’t mind getting people interested to see what they will tell her.
Sibel will never shy away from a challenge, in fact if her work is not challenging enough she will actively seek out a way to make it harder to achieve an end result, often making tasks more elaborate and detailed rather than just delivering what is asked for.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Character: The Naive Successor
Puppeteer: Alykia
Name: Alexander Clark (Alex)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Never really thought about it...so straight?
Relationship Status: Fiancee: it was arranged.
Likes: Alex has a lot of likes; although some might seem weird or surprising. He loves almost any kind of fruit and fish is his favorite kind of meat. As far as sweets go, he is happy with a jar of nutella: that stuff is so addicting. He likes pretty much anything about the sky: rainbows, stars, sunsets, clouds and so on. The weather his beloved sky makes that tickles his fancy is: rain, wind and snow. Another thing about nature that he adores are lilies. Of course there are certain types he likes more than others; but who needs to go into such details. For his hobbies: he likes drawing, painting and dancing. One might be surprised to find out that he prefers to breakdance: he has some killer moves. You see; this was his main way of dealing with things in his life. He also likes odd trinkets and other such things. Oh and most importantly, he loves his family: new and old.
Dislikes: In general, he hates being called cute or some girl version of his name. Alex doesn't like overly flashy things and how the rich seem to obsess about stuff while thinking they are more important than others. The high society rules can be a pain; but he tolerates them. It might be a surprise that he dislikes his fiancee even though he treats her like his most precious person. It's just another thing that he must do really. He might not even realize it; but he has been feeling tied down more and more. It's definitely something he doesn't like. Above all else, he hates how he hasn't seen or heard from his real family in two whole years.
Habits: Ever since he was little he has liked to take things apart to see how they work. Of course he also likes to put things together as well. It's actually hard for him to resist in some cases.
Alex has the tendency to act like an excited child over things that others would probably think is simple or weird. It's almost like he is discovering it for the first time: maybe he is in some cases though.
He reacts violently when someone touches him. Depending on the situation, not normally the person, he will be more or less violent. After he calms down he is sorry for doing extreme things, like punching someone in the face, unless there was a good reason for his actions. His normal angelic features change drastically during these brief moments. One might even say that he looks evil. Luckily, he has more control over this habit of his and can handle certain things without showing anyone his discomfort.
Alex will pretty much believe anything someone says, unless it's an obvious lie, because he wasn't shown much guidance when he was younger. He is too sweet and kind to realize how the world is filled with people that can and will use you just to spit you out. With all that said, he currently holds his father's word above all others no matter what.
Speaking of his parents, he calls his new parents mother and father. His old parents are called mom and dad.
Finally, he always pulls his hair back in some fashion. Usually it is in a low ponytail though. For some reason, his father wants his hair to be long like that. Currently it sits just below his shoulders.
Bio: Most of his life was spent living with his real parents: he never had any siblings. His parents were always working in an attempt to stay alive. It's not like they were ever poor really: they just were always on the borderline. No one could probably pinpoint how this came to be: it just happened. Now, his parents loved him very much; but they were hardly around to give him guidance. Whatever he learned was through his peers and school in general. Speaking of peers, he didn't have a lot of close friends: Alex was shy after all. Then there were the friends that took advantage of his naive and gullible nature without the poor boy even realizing it.
Around the time he entered high school, his parents started to have horrible financial troubles. Alex started working odd jobs in order to help out; but the family just kept falling more into debt. Two years later, they were at the end of their rope and that's when a deal was made between his father and his real parents. His parents were hesitant to sell off their only son; but he wanted to help them so he convinced them to let him go. To this day he doesn't know why this rich guy wanted to secretly take him in as his pretend real son. He even resembles his new mother enough to look related and they handled the story as to why he wasn't revealed to the public until a year ago. So far, no one knows the family secret.
His new father always treated him like a loving and kind father would. That's probably one of the reasons he will do anything for the man. One might wonder how nice the guy would be if Alex started to rebel for some reason. Are there dark secrets behind it all? As for his new mother, she seems to be more for appearance really. He hardly ever sees her and she can't seem to honestly take him in as her own: not that it really bothers him.
Now he is the legal successor of Clark Financial. It's the company that his father runs. They pretty much control everything. The company even has a hand in the smaller companies: of course the masses don't know this. Sure they know that Clark Financial is the most well-known and respected company of it's kind; but still. There is only one particular company that might stand in the way of their future goals; but father has a way to deal with that.
