Attention, All Duelists!
This is the vice-president, Mrs. Serenai with the latest info regarding to the Egyptian God Cards.
I, unfortunately, had to pick the short end of the straw and had to be the representative to get this guild the access of the Gods themselves, of which the whole thing lasted from when the guild opened until now. The conversation has been called into top confidential information, since we cannot give out the whole conversation to you( trust me, there were a lot of swears and death threats hanging around.)
But, finally, after almost seven months of trial and error, we have been granted the use of the God cards. However, we have a major setback:
We can only use one God Card per month, per duelist. Here's an example:
If Duelist #24 uses Obelisk the Tormentor against Duelist #187, s/he cannot use that same God or any of the other two until a month has passed.
Since this negotiation, we are very lucky to even have these cards for use. Therefore, I will talk to the president about the new regulations about this upcoming ordeal for her to set-up how duels will be reported should we decide to enforce this type of thing.
On a side note, look out for a new dueling arena in early May!

Though I don't own any of the God cards, nor do I care about obtaining them, I thought that using them once per month would be a real downer for some duelists. What if we added a setback to the card. For example, for each turn a god card is on the field, the controller loses xxxx amount of lifepoints; or if an opponent has a god card in their deck at all they start out with less life points than their opponent?

Are you kidding me?! Adding much more effects on them will just upset them even more; they already have my head on a platter! D:
Besides, we are using the anime versions of the God Cards, and they even come equipped with the secret abilities built for them.
The once a month thing came from the Egyptian priests themselves as part of the agreement we had. You have absolutely NO idea how hard it was for me to convince these guys. If we kept continually using the Gods themselves, how will they protect the Pharaoh? Not to mention that I suggested that we use them every two weeks, but that argument lasted for two months.
The president herself has watched reruns of the show itself, and I think it's safe to say that she doesn't want those Rare Hunters thugs around the city. So the once a month thing had to be confirmed; to protect our duelists and such.

I do not see why the God cards are so powerful, nor do I see why you have to limit them.
Using the legal versions of the cards, you should be fine, no?
Only two of the three 'god' cards are usable, and are pretty easy to destroy. My friend used to use his Obelisk on me, all the time. He never won. razz

Which two are legal? Because I think all three of them are pretty easily to be defeated.

The red, blue, and yellow-colored cards are illegal to use in a duel. They made legal versions of Obelisk and Ra.  Click to see the card's effect in full.. And... Click to see the card's effect in full.

See......I know of two cards At the moment to stop them. Solemn Judgement to negate the summon and Dark Hole, the there is lightning vortex.

It is easy to pass 4,000 attack on Obelisk.
To destroy it with a magic/trap (though you can not target it with card effects), you just need to get a card, such as Fissure, Smashing Ground, that hammer card that destroys the monster of your opponent with the highest attack, lighting vortex, black hole, Needle Ceiling, etcetera.
Also, both of the cards have parts of their effect which does not allow card effects, magic, or trap cards to be activated when it is being normal summoned.
