IKAZUCHI CLAN

Clan Name: Ikazuchi
Village/Organization of Origin: Outside of Konoha, the Ikazuchi Clan was mostly village-independent.
History: In its earliest days, the Hyuuga clan was known to important slaves from foreign lands, including Gaia. These slaves were given traditional Japanese names. One such slave, named Kaminari (Thunder) was imported as a slave as a child, and worked hard to buy his freedom. When he was freed, he begged the Hyuuga to train him in the ways of the ninja, and teach him the Byakugan. When they refused and threw him out of Konoha, legend has it that he climbed to the top of the highest mountains outside of the Hidden Leaf Village and demanded that the gods make him a greater warrior than any Hyuuga or any ninja in the Hidden Village. He then changed his name to Ikazuchi (Lightning). While no documents outside of the clan corroborate this origin, there are historical documents of a mercenary named Ikazuchi garnering great success working in the Country of Lightning during the First Great Ninja War. From this moment on, the clan proceeded to rise in success, with its Kekkei Genkai "The Raiyakugan." The dojutsu had originally been designed as a cheap knockoff of the Byakugan, but overtime it adapted itself to be an enhancer to raijutsu, allowing the user to see electrical currents/charges as a Hyuuga would view chakra.
The clan was reclusive, mostly uninvolved in Ninja Politics, members occasionally branching out as mercenaries or very few joining organized ninja villages. Just 30 years ago, however, a huge schism arose in the clan over the use of the forbidden jutsus "Hakarai," and many duels led to deaths and conflicts, most notably:
Ikazuchi Hachi's inflected earthquake upon the Ikazuchi Estate, 10 years ago, resulted in at least 3 documented deaths.
Ikazuchi Sendai's fratricide of his 2 brothers and at least 4 of their children.
Since then, the clan has mostly dispersed, with the exception of Ikazuchi Ilia, who remained behind to maintain the estate on her own and exists in a delusional state.

Bloodline Limit: Raiayakugan: A dojutsu that allows the user to view/manipulate electric currents.
Three Releases:
Ikkai (First Release): The user's eyes spark, and the user can view electric currents the way a Hyuuga would view chakra currents.
Nikkai (Second Release): The user can take electricity from within the air, etc., and use it for Raijutsu.
Sankai (Third Release): ONLY APPEARS IN GOLDEN-EYED USERS. The user gains a greater amount of chakra, and converts it to lightning, and can create additional lightning solely by friction. The user can manipulate the lightning almost at will.
Appears in both the blue-eyed and Golden-eyed versions. 1/2 of Ikazuchi Clansmen have the blue-eyed Raiyakugan, which can only perform the 2 intitial releases. The Golden-Eyed clansmen, which can perform the third-release, are extremely rare, perhaps once every 3 generations.
Clan Specific Jutsu: All of the Hakarai Forbidden Jutsus in the Getsugakure Vault, as well as the Fox summoning scroll.
Clan Specialty: Ikazuchi Clansmen generally train as monks, stressing their physicality and hand to hand combat before any weapons training, though many Ikazuchi members use wire and kunai to transmit electricity.
Clan Characteristics: Up until the time of conflict and duels within the clan, Ikazuchi clansmen were trained as Ninja if they had the Raiyakugan, and as merchants if they did not. This changed with Sendai, who insisted on training both of his sons, even though Hachi did not possess the Raiyakugan nor could he manipulate raijutsu.
Clan Special Skills: Clansmen are all taught about the physics of electricity, as well as how to buy, sell, trade, and barter.
Clan Trades: Until the clan's essential collapse after Sendai's generation, the clan traded in primitive electronics and rare goods.
Clan Traditions: Starting with Sendai's sons, clansmen were generally given until the age of ten to develop ninja skills. If they did not develop them, the children were trained as merchants. Clansmen trained as merchants were not martial artists, but were generally given a contract with the Fox-Spirit summons, as means of personal protection.
Clan Branches: There was only one official branch of the clan, but after the time of conflict it was rumored that members of the clan had journeyed to the land of snow. Also, there were several Ikazuchi clansmen still traveling the world as merchants.
Clan Locations: The Ikazuchi Family Estate, which is mainly one large mansion, is nestled in the mountains east of Konoha, surrounded by natural protection. Here is where all of the Ikazuchi Clansmen lived, with the exclusion of the traveling merchants, who only returned home in the winter. Only Ikazuchi Ilia still remains there, living alone in the mansion and cultivating her plants.
The only other Ikazuchi Clansmen who are known to be alive today are Getsugakure-nin, the Third Tsukikage Ikazuchi Hachi, and his brother, Ikazuchi Kitsune, who is training in Otogakure.
