I lounged up on the largest branch of my tall, live oak tree. The leaves were in full bloom, so I was almost invisible, save for my long silver tail that hung below my branch. My ears twitched as I heard everything happening. Teenagers' voices, squirrels scampering, birds chirping, a car parking in a busy market. I sighed, thinking of how the pack would be in the Yukon Territory right now, teaching the pups how to track and take down smaller prey.
I wish I was back with them right now.
