Hey guys (: . So my studio is in the midst of planning next year's pieces.. And I get the chance to do a solo. I did a contemp. this year, but I would like to do something different. Which is where tap comes in biggrin !
Soo.. I'm pretty open about different styles. It just has to have a good beat (: .
Thanks in advance biggrin .

Umm...Pon De Replay by Rihanna?? Hmm, that might be a little strange. But I love that song and it certainly has a good beat. ^.^

Ooh those are some good ideas (: !
The only problem is that... We are actually using No americano for a jazz piece, and we did Pon de Replay last year. But I'll run them by my studio owner to see what she thinks (: .

"Pump It" by Black-Eyed Peas. I was rehearsing a tap dance to that when I auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance Canada two years ago.

OMG there's this one song that I know and it's absolutely PERFECT for tap. It's a bit lenghty for a song, but you could always cut it. It's called "I Got Rhythm." I used it for a tap recital years ago, and I think that it's perfect for tapping. I find myself either after so many years still doing the old routine, or making up something new. I'm not sure who sings the version that I listen to, but I'm fairly sure that It's either Ella Fitzgerald, or Judy Garland. It's about 7 or 8 minutes long (like I said, you can always cut it.) Or, you could use "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from the Broadway version of The Lion King. I hope this helps. But if you want some other suggestions, feel free to PM me. smile
