Snow crunched under his feet making his white stockings disappear. It was almost as if the male was floating a long in the winter breeze. Tendrils of white mist escaped his mouth leaving no question to if the creature really was an apparition. There was no mistaking he was in his element. It was no wonder he'd avoided detection as he stopped at the edge of Brychan's lands, he was nearly invisible when a large wind kicked up.

Yes. He could attend to what he needed here. Stamping his foot the male took a moment to survey his surroundings. He sneered a little as if the view of it offended him in some way. Not a bad place for a herd... but certainly not the best.

His would be better. No doubt of that. Straightening himself, what was obviously pompous deer, let out a very deep baritone bellow to announce himself.

The unknown bellow started a young crops who was even whiter then the stranger. He lifted his head, squinting through the harsh sun against his pink eyes. Fear gripped through him at first rooting him to the spot. The male was clearly far older then he was with how many tines he had.But worse then that he looked like some kind of divine thing. He'd never seen a deer with that kind of fur and while his own was white, this male's clearly didn't have a defect like he did.

Giving a rather pathetic squeal more akin to that of a calf, the crops member rushed up to Brychan skidding from a stop rather ungracefully and nearly face planting himself into the snow.

Regaining his footing and his pride Jensen stood up trying to look more like the son of the Fell Lore then a screw up. "... Lord Brychan... There's a strange deer at our boarder. He... he looks really... different. I think it might be a ghost." The last part was said more in a whisper. He'd heard rumor of the 'Fallen' and while he'd never seen one he thought this was strange enough to count.

Standing at the Home Oak, Brychan breathed out a sigh, watching as the chilled air condensed his breath to become visible. Unlike the mysterious stag, Brychan stood out like a sore thumb against the white snow. His black pelt did serve to help keep him warm in the sun's rays at least.

However, a deep bellow echoed through the valley, causing the Lord's ear to turn that way before his blue eyes followed. Brows creased and a concerned frown appeared on his muzzle as he took a step forward. Soon enough though, a mildly panicked youngster came running up to him and he had to give another small sigh.

"Calm yourself, Jensen. A good outrider keeps a level head even in the most dire circumstances. Talking such nonsense will only cause the hinds to go into a panic," Brychan gently chided. While he had heard many a story, the lord wasn't so quick to believe in ghosts since he'd never seen one.

"Take me to him," he then commanded of the albino. "He's likely a rogue."

Jensen took a deep breath feeling more embarrassed. It didn't help that Brychan was the father of the female he wanted to claim. He was such a bumbling fool. Her father might stand up against him trying for her. Doing his best to make himself straighten up and look like a real outrider.

"R-right! Sorry, sir!" He quickly amended trying his best to slow down. He had a lot of spunk and it made him far too energetic. "Calm and level headed." He repeated to himself as he began down from Home Oak.

As they got closer the crops was shaking his antlers in anticipation. "Will you attack him?" He asked before thinking. He was curious to how the Lord worked. Rather proud to be leading him too.

The stranger who hadn't moved even a hair's breath since his initial call, rose his head to greet the two oncoming stags. He instantly knew who greeted him was no ordinary stag. He was either the head of the outriders or more likely, the Lord of the Herd.

He smiled only briefly to himself before it faded into a gruff frown. Waiting for them to get close he made no motion of stating his purpose or willing to start the conversation. Instead he dipped his head in greeting to the male and gave a annoyed glance to the eager buck with him. So he allowed a mere child to bodyguard him? This was noted in the back of his mind. Then again, it could be one of his son's... and once again the small defect in him was noted.

He liked things organized.

While the young corps who was at his side wasn't his son, Brychan had always held great respect for the young stag's father, Fell Lore. It was a shame that Jensen didn't seem to be all that much like his sire thus far, but the Lord had patience for the albino fellow. The question drew a sigh from Brychan and a shake of his head. "No, not unless he gives me reason to. If it is a rogue, he'll be given fair warning."

As they approached though, the Lord spotted the stag that had been the cause of the commotion. A rather regal and proud looking deer, from what he could tell.

Stepping past Jensen, Brychan approached the other stag with his head held high, displaying his dominance and right to the land behind him. However, he did politely return the nod. "I'm Brychan, Lord of the Firebringer herd. Who are you and what is your business here?"

"Of course not." Jensen muttered quietly. He stood back to watch the two interact and try to learn something from it. He felt an odd tension in the air but he wasn't sure where it came from. It made him stamp and drag his antlers against the air.

Upon seeing Brychan the older stag took a step forward. His hooves weren't yet touching the boarder but were daringly close for someone who had not gained permission to enter. "A pleasure." The male's voice was as deep as his forewarning and held no warmth. "I am Fionn. I am curious about your herd. I have scented it many times and I wished to find out more about it and it's leader. It has been a long time since I have been in a herd."

The fidgety albino was ignored for the time being, as Brychan retained an air of calm despite the tension. Hopefully Jensen would follow his example and calm himself upon seeing his Lord act in such a way.

The name was noted, but there was a definite look of suspicion that crossed the Lord's expression as he regarded the other stag. After all, it wasn't every day that a stag just showed up out of nowhere, wanting information about you herd.

"And for what purpose?"

He wanted to know more about this stag before giving what he was requesting, if he decided to at all.

Jensen felt the silent disapproval and started to settle down. If Brychan wasn't afraid then he shouldn't be either. He did his best to still his actions though his ears were still twitching slightly in nerves.

Fionn saw the hesitation and snorted slightly, "I will not lie about my intention. I am going to start a herd outside of your boundaries. I wish to know if you are a friend or foe before I began. I would hope we could be allies to avoid confrontation."

Well this was certainly interesting, and Brychan's brows lifted slightly to indicate his surprise. Of all the things he had expected, this certainly hadn't been one of them.

"I see. I have no problem with that. As long as you don't interfere with my herd, I will not interfere with yours." A friendly smile then crossed the stag's muzzle. "I would hope to be allies as well."
