What is known about Kiyoshi is that he comes from an upper class family, and that he is extremely knowledgeable in the field of central intelligence. In addition the only person that knows the abilities of Kiyoshi's zanpakuto is the Captain-Commander. Since there is very little information known about Kiyoshi he is recognized as one of the most mysterious Captains.
