The two newest additions to Devoncroix were the twin brothers, Arlen and Aericel. The boys only fought together, and separated they were useless. They needed to be trained separately with mentors that had similar abilities and knew how to hone them properly. They needed mentors who would teach them not only how use their abilities but how to become warriors, possibly even Elites of Devoncroix, and Cynthia knew just the women to do it. Arlen was the oldest but also the most rash. He dived into battle without thought. He was the strongest of the two brothers, but also the most vulnerable. Without a sharp mind, strength meant nothing. Aericel, the youngest, was the most cautious. He waited for perfect moments to strike, but missed out on many opportunities to end battles quickly. The boys balanced each other out, however if one of them were to be killed, the other was as good as dead.

Cynthia walked into the open fields of the training ground, two guards followed behind her silently, and behind them, Aericel. Cynthia stopped holding the strap to her backpack, turning to face the him. She took in a deep breathe. "You will meet you mentor here. You are to do exactly as she ask of you unless directed otherwise by the Alphas themselves. Be forewarned, your mentor will accept no weakness. One whine, one compliant, if you so much as show any signs of tiring it's her job to kill you. Is that understood." Aericel nodded, "Yes, Lady Cynthia." Cynthia breathed silently and she awaited patiently for the Alexis to make her prescience known so that she could be done with these introductions.

Prufalas and her Beta Alexis were the perfect candidates for the two boys, not only because their abilities matched perfectly, but they also had skills and traits the boys needed to learn from. Prufalas was deadly in battle, her mind sharp, and her body fluent in movement. She was harsh when it came to training and she only accepted the best. Arlen would realize a rude awakening if he believed greatness would come easy. Alexis was skillful and and intelligent, much like Aericel, but Alexis was well aware that no battle was without sacrifices. You can't win a battle without taking some risks, something that Aericel needed to learn. Cynthia took a deep breathe reassured by her decision. The training would be tough, but the boys showed potential, and it was about time they individualized themselves. Of course they could still work on their own combination skills, but on their own time and after they became self sufficient enough to battle individually. " The two of you will be separated during training as your already aware. You will not be allowed to help each other. You will see each other only if, or when you're dismissed for the day. I will arrange a room for you both here so you have no reason to be tardy when your mentors call upon you." Aericel nodded and wondered how his brother was doing.

Prufalas circled Arlen and looked him over.
"You are lycan and first you must remember is you are to survive with out the plesantries of the human necessities. While you train you will not be needing your clothing they will only hinder you. You will not need your weapons, you don't know how to use it anyway. And you will not question me at any time. What you have learned up to this point has been useless. From here on out you train as a recruit towards an elite, I will raise you as my charge as my son, as one of my own line. If you disappoint I will end your life as an alpha mother would see fit. Do we have an understanding Arlen?"
Prufalas eyes remained cool but her voice steady as she looked him over.

"You will need to be immune and need to carry the same blood that flows in my veins and there are only two ways to do this. To be born of my line and to be infected. when you are done remving your shirt approach."

Arlen looked at Prufalas, eyes focused, and voice clear, "Yes Lady Prufalas." This is what he dreamed of his own moment to become something worth the time of the Devoncroix Pack he only heard about in fairy tales. It was so exciting to him. Upon receiving his instruction he removed his clothing feeling no shame, his daggers were quick to fall with his belt. He approached his new mentor awaiting her actions and new instructions.

"To be an elite you can afford no weaknesses no emotions can hold you back. A warrior does their job at all costs sacrificing even their own well being. It is a luxury we cannot afford, to protect the pack emotion is a weakness we have erradicated in the elite."
Prufalas approached him and extended her claw like hands and talons shifted mid stream and she sliced open his chest in a flash, in a single motion she cut her own hand with her teeth and pressed it into his chest and sealed it over with a flash of light. In its place began to scale over with dragon scales and as it healed so went his emotions and memories of anything before that moment. He knew he had a brother, and now he had a mother, and elite cousins, and his heart was ready for training.
She wiped the sweat from his brow and motioned to others to take him on a hunt with his new eyes and reflexes that would be coursing through his body.
"Now go hunt, we train later."

Arlen nodded his head to Prufalas feeling a different type of loyalty to her then just as a superior. He followed the elites and went hunting. On his way over to the hunting grounds his senses were becoming sharper then before. As his senses sharpened his emotions dulled. His energy connection with his brother became hazy to both of them and eventually Arlen cut his brother off completely. He needed to adjust himself to his own body before adjust his energy to his brothers. The elites embraced their passion running off to feast. Arlen shifted into his natural form and sped off, the world around him seemed to spin , but running felt natural for him so he continued on.

As Aericel waited for Alexis in a different part of the training grounds he sat on the ground and began to wonder how his brother was doing. The connection to his brother turned foggy and then was cut off causing a sharp pain in Aericel's mind then leaving a brief headache. He winced, but refrained from complaining about it. He became worried. What just happened? Their energy was cut off from each other, but that pain was something new to Aericel.

All of sudden the scent of fresh deer caught Arlen's interest and without thinking he lunged with ferocious speed and precise strikes. He ripped the throat out of the animal and watched as it's pool of blood stained the floor. He decided to offer this one to Prufalas. He left to come back for it later, running after the rest of the herd striking down three more the deer. He consumed two of them and was satisfied. He gazed at the forest ahead of him and it seemed to move. He shook it off and dragged the two other dear back to the training grounds for Prufalas. His legs were little shaky but he managed. This was the type of respect a Beta would show to his Alpha, a warrior to his leader, a son to his mother. The type of loyalty that now resided in Arlen could only be described as such.

Alexis had arrived at the same time as Prufalas, but she had come in the opposite direction, cloaked and hidden from scent and sight. She stood waiting for Prufalas and Arlen to leaven and then stood silently and watched Aericel. She wanted to judge his reactions at being alone for the first time. Cynthia had let her know a little about Aericel's personality, but she needed firsthand experience. She stood there for a few more minutes, just waiting, but when Aericel didn't do anything, she sighed inaudibly and flitted to the side, still hidden. Picking up a tree branch, she snapped it sharply and then flitted away again.

Aeicel's caught the sound and his head looked in the direction it came from. Cynthia smirked slightly. He got to his feet examining the the surroundings listening for even the slightest disturbance. His eyes were focused and his ears were sharp to listen.

With her scent hidden and her movements silenced, Alexis was almost as traceable as a ghost. Freezing in place, her hooded head bent over as if in thought. Suddenly, branches around Aericel started snapping, some high, some low, but never at the same time. It sounded like there were at least three people around him, circling him, stalking him. Alexis waited, watching for his reaction.

Aericel looked around, his lyconic fangs bared themselves. When he turned to look at Cynthia she was gone along with her guards. He memorized where and which directions the snapping noises were made then dashed off into the woods for cover. He was a sitting duck out in the open field, and he knew nothing about what was going on or who was behind it. He kept moving examining the surroundings around hearing the snapping all around him but not seeing a soul. He began thinking about his next approach as his prescience were concealed behind a boulder. One of the snapping noises were close to him but still no one was to be seen. Maybe...someones controlling it. Whoever they were they were out of sight and Aericel did not catch any scent. He kept his surroundings in mind and was cautious. If this person could control vegetation he was not safe anywhere.

The sound of snapping branches abruptly stopped. There was nothing to be heard, not even the sound of birds or natural wildlife. The surround forest held the still, careful silence of someone being watched. It was a tense silence, a nerve wracking silence. It was a silence that could drive a person mad after too much of it. Alexis hadn't moved at all, not even when Aericel dodged and ran for cover. She closed her eyes and listened. Aericel's breathing, barely discernible before, was loud and clear. His heartbeat sounded strong in Alexis's ears and her lips tilted upwards. He hadn't lost his composure yet. That would have to change.

She snapped another branch, this one a few trees to Aericel's left. As soon as it had started falling, other branches shattered, splinters flying everywhere, some as large as Alexis's hand and as sharp as a razor. With so many branches exploding, it seemed almost like a storm of wood, dangerous and beautiful all at once.

Aericel kept his composure even in the silence and a single sweat drop inched down his forehead. Suddenly he heard the first branch snap then the thousands that followed sending splinters every where. His palm hit the ground and ice sprung up to and covered him in ball connecting with the boulder he hid behind. Inside the the barrier he begin thinking and analyzing, but he came to a dead end. Nothing he could think of would lead him to the one responsible. Aericel closed his eyes feeling the chill of the ice around him, the energy in the water of the plant life and the sudden disruptions in the plant life as they exploded.

Eyes narrowing in approval, Alexis ran forward, stepping lightly over the forest floor, dodging the flying splinters with ease. Her cloak made no noise as she ran and neither did her clothes. Nothing on her gave away the sound of movement. Stopping a few yards away so that she could Aericel, but was not completely visible to his eyes, Alexis froze again and studied his body language. His shield was good, but she didn't want him to just shield and analyze. He needed to learn how react without thinking. Alexis was a loyal supporter of logic, but she also knew that sometimes logic was not helpful. It seemed that Aericel did not know that. Shifting, she shook out her thick white fur and settled her features into an innocent mask, looking the complete opposite of her usual icy self. She fixed her mind and trotted forward, nose to the ground, looking for all the world like a wild wolf following a scent. She came towards Aericel and froze, looking up and baring her fangs, acting as any wild animal does in the presence of a lycan.

Aericel's shield melted away and his eyes gazed upon the wolf who had sniffed him out. His eyes narrowed and he cocked his head to the side. Something in his mind clicked. Why would an animal appear so quickly after such a dangerous display? Even when the woods were completely silent there was no signs of wild life. His lyconic fangs bared at the wolf and he clenched his fist. The ice that just melted away formed into lashes of water which aimed to strike the Lycan in front of him. Waving his arms in front of him the lashes whipped out in one fluid motion.

Prufalas watched her "son" with new eyes if one watched closely one might think it was pride, a sense of respect for her pup. Only her beta would know that. She walked in the shadows out of sight and sound testing him even now and stalked him like prey testing his senses. She needed to know how much alike they would be.
