It had been a while since she'd last heard from Damien and Asher, occasionally sending e-mails to each other on any new discoveries with their Song children. But she was surprised that recently he sent her mail inviting her and Sohne to stay in London with him for a short while.
The very least she could say was that it was a well needed vacation. So in short, she quickly replied with an agreement to visit as soon as she could get a few days off.
Hui had managed to pack reasonably, even with the problems she was having with her parents there was no way she would prevent an opportunity for Sohne to meet Asher again. And of course she wanted to enjoy a little time away from the drama. Long had been very accommodating about the situation and hopefully would take proper care of the apartment while her and Sohne were away. He had been very encouraging about their trip to London so she felt less anxious about leaving. However still nervous about seeing Damien and Asher for a second time.
Sohne was very pleased about the idea of seeing his friend again, even though he had met her so long ago he could still remember her pink hair and occasionally drew pictures of the both of them together. In fact, he still had the hat she had given him and intended to take it with him to Britain to prove his loyal friendship to her.
When finally the day had come for Sohne and Hui to board the plane, security seemed to be suspicious but Long had managed to find a way to hide most of Sohne's protruding body parts in ways that were normal, which was wearing slightly larger pants and a turtleneck. A few hours later, the two were safely landed in London's airport awaiting their ride.
"Mama, Ah'm egzited too see Asher agin. Do yu tink she'll lyke mah drawing?" Sohne asked. "I don't see why not Sohne." Hui smiled at her kid.

It took the Earl of Kent quite a lot of effort to ensure that Asher's hand stayed firmly within his grasp. His little Song was so excited to be meeting Sohne again that she'd chattered incessantly in the car on the way to the airport, and was now peering this way and that in an attempt to spot the two visitors as soon as possible - an act that was quite out of the ordinary in contrast to Asher's usual, well-mannered ways.
"Asher, calm down before you trip over yourself and fall over." For all that the words were stern, there was an underlying gentleness in his tone, and Asher paused, looking up to him with happy golden eyes for one long, precious moment before resuming her search.
The crowd around them shifted, occasionally stopping to point and stare at the pink haired girl and her noble guardian, but the attention was benign. London had already seen quite a lot of Asher in the recent years, both in the newspapers and in person as Damien took her out to see the city. By now, they were more curious than scared of her strange appearance, and Damien was resigned to their attention.
Suddenly, there was a sharp tug on his hand, and Damien looked down to find his pink haired little girl pointing towards a woman and small child standing off to the side. "Look, daddy, I found them!"
Excited, Asher slipped out of her guardian's grasp, and wove expertly through the crowd, stopping just inches away from the shorter figure. Struggling to catch up, Damien still heard his charge's childish voice as Asher let out a torrent of enthusiastic words. "Sohne! Oh it's so great to see you again it'sbeensolongandi'vemissedandthoughtaboutyousomuch. How've you been? Oh is that the hat? It is the hat! I'm so flattered!" Forgetting protocol and manners, Asher launched herself at the other Song and embraced the other in a tight hug. "I'msogladDaddyinvitedyou!"
Stepping up behind Asher, Damien held out his hand and offered Hui a wry smile. "It is good to see you again, Hui. I hope you've been well?"

Hui had never traveled far beyond the scope of her own city, so the London atmosphere was very intriguing to her, as was Sohne's. At least it was until a bright spot of pink came rushing towards him and a stream of long words also came speeding out of her lovely red lips at him. Sohne's speech may not have been the top of his kindergarten class, but he was able to process things quickly. And even though her words merged together, they were clear as day for him.
Quiet as ever, Sohne quickly reciprocated the warm embrace with his friend, holding on quite affectionately though this was only the second meeting between them. "Ai mizzed yu, Ajher." He gave her a slight squeeze before gently releasing the well-dressed doll-like girl, smiling with unmistakeable happiness.
Watching the children's interaction, Hui wondered if maybe Sohne's speech impediment would dent their reuniting. But on second thought she considered that perhaps the contrast of his silence against her talkative trait would balance things out nicely. Turning around to meet the face of Asher's guardian, she smiled meekly. "Hello Damien, thank you so much for inviting us to stay. It certainly is a desperately needed vacation." She laughed a little. "Sohne and I have been doing pretty well, all things considered. How about yourself?"

"It's nothing." Damien's smile broadened as he took in the sight of the two Songs embracing. "Don't worry about it - we're truly glad to be able to offer you the hospitality of our home. We'd considered flying over the pond to visit you again, but unfortunately I've been rather tied down here. Plus, it's been a long time since Asher's been able to talk to someone like her."
While Asher hadn't complained, Damien felt a little guilty that some of his duties kept them from staying in touch with the other Songs that he knew of. For all that he loved his Song, he was well aware of the difficulties Asher had had trying to make friends with other children her age. His own circle of friends had been more accepting, but he felt that his charge really should begin to have companions closer to her own age.
Glancing down, the man located their luggage and maneuvered himself to pick it up, inbred manners giving the matter no thought as he began to head back in the direction they'd originally come from. "Shall we go? The car's over that way."
Asher's torrent of words paused at Sohne's three small words, and another brilliant smile appeared on her doll-like face. "I've missed you, too!" And then she was off again, "Oh, we'll have ever so much fun together, I promise! There's so much to do in London, and daddy has promised to take us to the zoo and the amusement parks so you can try the cotton candy and see the lions and tigers and..." The pink haired girl continued to talk, words tumbling incessantly from her lips as she reached down to grab Sohne's hand, tugging lightly as they followed the adults.

Hui nodded brightly, still very appreciative of the man's hospitality. "Not sure if Sohne will really talk all that much though, he's pretty quiet most of the time..." Even she didn't really understand it. Why? It often felt like he had so much to say, but maybe he was a doer not a talker. She smiled at her kid. It was a wonder what went on up in his head.
As Damien picked up their luggage, she felt embarrassed. "Oh no, it's alright! I can carry those." And she attempted to take them back but he was already walking back towards the car. He was such a gentleman. And it made her wish there were more in New York.
Sohne, more than happy to take Asher's hand, listened to every word she said with great enthusiasm from smiles, nods and looking at her non-stop. It seemed best not to interrupt anyway considering his speech skills, which were poor. And he kind of knew this already. So he had no complaints to her constant stream of words. It was like a soothing buzz that one could fall asleep to.
((Do you want to skip the car ride? Seems redundant. Haha.))
