I think a person should live outside of society for part of their life, because it helps them to learn more about themselves, and less about what they're "supposed" to be. Of course, that may be my whole anti-culture or whatnot thing... As for the second one... I dunno... I believe it to some extent, but not at the same time. A major contention I have with the present system is that need for sacrafice in order to reach the "greater good", which is national suprimacy and power, etc. Therefore, I don't think that sacraficeing your life is a very good idea, as it uses some of the former administrations tactics etc, not to mention the whole dying for the cause thing is slightly over-rated and just another glorious war propoganda bullshit tactic. At the same time, I can easily see myself sacraficing my life for the prospect of my loved ones having the opportunity to live in such a society... And, not to sound selfish, but there are very very few things I'm willing to die for so for me to think "Yeah, ok I guess I would" is rather extreme for me... Make sense?

On Aristotle he was just stating that the greatest achievement is human self-sufficient onto himself, which defines complete freedom. As for MLKJ's quote, it is extreme. He was after all a martyr, I think of it as more of a reminder too know what you really value in life and be prepared to defend it, be it for you, family or others.

Yes i love that one, i cant beleave i didnt remember it an interesting one i came across in the book im studying (montana 194 cool . "rules are made for the rulemakers" This quote was probably intended to be diferent to the way i interpreted because the "persona" seems to think the law needs to be enforced with as much strength as posible.
