Three realms make up the world as we know it.
Above is the Heavens, pure and warm.
Below is Hell, corrupted and cold. And in between is the confusing and overwhelming realm of Earth. She was a Deliverer, or an Angel of Death in human myths, that brought the souls to Heaven. She was not the one to judge their life's deeds. For that was the Father's jurisdiction. She just simply released the soul from the body. A simple job really except she was a bit rebellious. She would refuse to release a soul that could be saved from death. Thrice 'twas her reckoning. You see, Angels had one sole belief; the Father had an ultimate plan for all and the Angels were the messengers that executed that plan. To defy one's order was defying the Father. On her third defiance, her wings and powers removed then cast down to Earth. She was now human. Stranded in a sea of uncertain emotions. As a celestial being of the Heavens, She, along with all other Angels, their emotions were dulled down feelings of joy and love. Their heart did not wadge war with their mind. They did not fight among each other. They loved all, in a detached fashion. Now, she was overwhelmed with the sheer power of fully unleashed emotion. Being cut off so harshly evoked unfamiliar emotions. they shot red-hot through her, so powerful, crashing and colliding with each other. Hate, contempt, betrayal. The emotions wasn't nearly as alarming as the realization that it was towards Heaven. She was cast off and abandoned. Lost and alone, a demon approached her with a deal. A deal that would restore her former angelic nature to seek out revenge. In return, her soul to the Fallen One. Enlisting her an eternity of servitude. He was a Retriever. Or a lapdog, hell hound, etc, in human myths. There wasn't a difference of rank to them. All were devils to them. His rank was matter of fact different. Lesser demons lured the pathetic humans with sins into Hell. A cold, icy place. Unlike the fiery pit some believe. He sure wished it was though. He's been cold for far too long. As a Retriever, it was is job to lure in Angels. Bring those Holy snobs down a peg. From time to time an Angel would be cast down and he had to Retrieve them. Simpler said that done though. For you see, he could not just drag them kicking and screaming. He had to get them to agree to go. Wooing them with sweet promises. Bating them into becoming a servant of the Fallen One. His own master. No one really knows One's true purpose in this. Even as His most trusted, he still wasn't in the know of the information. He just knew that he had his role to play. Demons weren't disobedient per se, more so they just like to bend the rules as much as possible. But one rule would never bee touched: A Demon must bring a willing soul. Blasted free will and such. This particular Demon had a special assignment. Bring down an Angel of Death. Not a single one had ever been captured. But now, he had the chance. One he would never pass up. What demon wouldn't? It would be like an instant promotion with a better office with a better view. And to keep a high rank, one must fight for it. But he had not expected the disposition of this Angel. Her human emotions took over quickly and made her irrational. That just made it easy pickings for himself. But neither would expect the outcome of their encounter and its outcome. It was supposed to be a simple agreement. But what would happen if they lost themselves in the world of overwhelming sea of emotion.

here's my profile Username: vader-lifer14 Chara Name: Gene Karath Age: immortal (old as time itself) Race: Demon Brief Bio: Gene is a Retriever, one of many who serve the Fallen one. He made a living off of wooing angels over to his master's side, and enjoyed every second of his job. His latest target: an Angel of Death. No one had ever brought one in before. When he heard about this, he instantly thought that this would be his biggest score. Promotion, new office, the works. However, he's kinda thrown for a loop when he meets this angel and sees her disposition. Will he instantly strike a deal with the surprisingly willing angel, or maybe he'll just be an a** and let her stew in her vengeful emotions? The story has to start to find out!

((I'll go ahead and set the setting in my first post.)) Username: Oni-Panda379 Chara Name: Devora Gisteol Age: Devora was created on the Fourth Day of Creation. Along with her Angel brethren. Race: Angel Brief Bio: Devora was one of the beloved Deliverers. She brought souls up to be joined with the heavenly Father and their families. Devora accompanied with her superior. (Of course none is viewed superior in the Father's eyes.) These superior angles, known as the Archangels were just to keep the lower Angels in line. Which was a good thing in Devora's case. Devora would refuse to release a soul that's human life could be save. But far too often did she do this. And now she will pay the price. Heaven wasn't as heavenly and pure as she thought. And now she is to find her revenge. Can she strike a deal for her soul?

Pain. That's what that feeling was named. Not only was it unfamiliar to Devora, but it was so powerful. It felt like she was being ground down into dust. A felling like sharp needles poking at her shoulder blades. That's right, her wings were burned off. The pain was so unbearable, she couldn't even remember what caused it. All she recalled was a sad look from Zackariah and a bright explosion of light. And lots of pain.
Devora rolled over onto her side. The movement intensified the needle-pain on her back. She wanted to scream but all that came out was a strangled moan. The surface she was on was dry and crunched when she moved. It smelled of decay and earth. She opened her eyes and saw the moonlight washing out the green trees around her. Making them ghostly. The leaves she was laying on were as black as the sky. The sky.. The gateway to Heaven. Now it was closed off to her. She lay there in a daze. Trying her best not to accept it. A tear slid down her cheek. Angels never cried. She really was alone and abandoned. Abandoned in the realm of mortals. In the middle of a forrest no less.

Joy. The feeling had many meanings, depending own who felt it, but for old Gene, it meant bringing high and mighty angels down a peg. All that time in heaven made people like them soft and unaware of the reality of the world that their Father created. It was ironic, really. After all the time they spent shunning demons, Gene managed to get them to crawl down to Hell after the other angels and the Father dumped them.
Gene treaded through the forest, a dead fox hanging from his maw. Even demons get hungry! All he had to do was find some wood to make a fire and cook the thing. Suddenly, an odd smell hit his nose. The scent of an angel. He always remembered that smell. He had to, after doing his job for so long. He let the fox fall, then sprinted off to find what might be his next step to a promotion.

Devora struggled into a sitting position. The numb daze of her mind was starting to fade. The pain in her back became a dull ache. Her hair clung to her body. Possibly wet from laying on the ground. She felt something wet glide down her back. She reached an hand back to feel it. She brought her hand back, covered in blood. Her own blood. A bitter burn filled her throat. She was mortal and could be hurt. The burn intensified, but disappeared after a few swallows. Nausea. Angels didn't get sick. Oh Glory to the Mightiest
You're mortal now. It echoed through her mind over and over. Something... hot filled her. A strange emotion. The shear force of it took the breath out of her lungs. It suffocated her. Hate. She was feeling hatred. But she was an angel...but not anymore. Her vision blurred. Emotions roared inside her. She was mortal. She cried out in agony. Both physical and emotional.

Gene had finally come across his target, and from the looks of things, this former angel looked to be pretty crummy about getting kicked from her home in the clouds. He could smell the feelings of hatred and agony that oozed off of her, and they were crack to the Retriever. He LOVED his job. However, something about this girl made him feel like it would be too easy. He didn't like easy. He then sighed, walking out from behind the cover of the trees, approaching the pretty little fallen angel, ready to be instantly ostracized at first. That's how his job worked. Breaking an angel was like peeling an onion; they both took a bit of time to get past a few layers, but it ends up working out well in the long run.

Devora turned at the sound of crunching leaves. The action caused her to jar her wound. She could feel blood trailing down her back along with the ever-poking needles of pain. "Who's there?" She choked out. Her voice was coarse and harsh. Clouds drifted over the moon. Blocking out the light. Everything around her was pitch black. A tingle ran over her body. Something evil was lurking in the dark near her. Could a small bit of her powers still be there? It was hard to tell.

Gene walked into the girl's view, a devil's smirk on his face. His eyes scanned her entire form, and he could see the malice behind that pretty face. "Well, look at you. So angry and harsh. I'd almost mistake you for one of my kind. Sadly, you're no demon. From the vibe I'm getting, you're just REALLY emo." He said, hoping to get under her skin at first. Sometimes, he started out as an a** on the job, then worked his charm on angels. It usually worked, somehow.

Devora tensed at his words. Anger flared at his accusation. "I Am not a demon..." Nor would she ever be such a vile being. "I don't hurt others for the fun of it, unlike you." She sad the last word as if it were a curse. Her head was starting to ache. "I'm just...overwhelmed with these human emotions." Soon they would pass and she will gain control over them. She had to.

Gene let out a chuckle. Of course this little thing wasn't a demon....yet. That's why he was here! "Let me guess; you're pissed at the big guy up there for kicking you out. Am I right?" He asked. "I know I am. It's my job to know this stuff." He added. To be honest, from what he felt off of her, he could tell that she would be too easy to convert. Somewhere along the line, he'd have to use reverse psychology.

"I wasn't...kicked out." Devora struggled onto her wobbly legs. She winced as a sharp pain ripped up her spine. Though she said the words, for some reason, she knew it wasn't true. Devora wrapped her arms around herself. It felt like she was being torn in two. From the pain and the swirling emotions in her head. "You...you don't know anything about Heaven, you're just a demon." Of course he wouldn't. He was evil. Evil wasn't allowed anywhere near there. Devora took a step back, an attempt to distance herself from the beast. "Begone demon. I don't...I don't need your opinion in this matter." She put as much venom as she could to get him to go. What could a demon possibly do to her besides drag her under?

Gene retained his wicked smirk. "Suuuuure." He stretched out sarcastically. "I don't know anything. I'm just a dumb monster." He added. He then turned serious. "Look, girl. I may be a demon, but I've worked with your kind long enough to know how Heaven works. You angels sit up there, not a care in the world, but once the big man boots you out, you end up struggling through emotions that both humans and demons are used to. You've been stripped of your powers and forced into a sense of culture shock. You're basically damned already. You have no life outside Heaven. That's how the Father wants it to be when he kicks you out. What greater torture is there than to take away all you know and love, and force you down to the level of something you despise?" He asked.
