Tonight is the night for a Mobian to be sacrificed, it is said in the stars, and Jackqueline, being unfamiliar with the natives around this part of the world, is just that unfortunate to be caught, bound, and about to be sacrificed to the fire god of the Hanhu tribe. Jackqueline is brought to a very scary looking and very bloody alter, forced down on it she nervously looks around for some way of escape. The stars look differently at her... (I only quoted you because I wasn't sure how to get your attention another way.) In the crowd of natives who were eagerly awaiting this moment stood one hedgehog who didn't feel the same way as the rest of the crowd, and in fact empathized with the victim. He stood there with a solemn look on his face, saying a silent prayer to the fire god asking not to accept this particular sacrifice.

(It's fine) With tears in her eyes, Jackqueline tries to persuade the high priest in charge of the sacrifice to let her go, but there is no understanding. She tries getting up to flee but she's only shoved down again. The priest raises his axe to execute the sacrifice.

Do not sacrifice this young woman!"

The high priest pauses and glances at the hedgehog interfering and exclaims, "Do you wish the wrath of Pauk upon us?! A sacrifice must be made and this echidna outsider is the one who's blood has been demanded!" Jackqueline swallows hard, this might not end well.

(Sorry for taking so long to respond...I've been busy this week and haven't always thought to check this guild. sweatdrop )
The hedgehog responded "If I am able to find a suitable replacement for this echidna outsider, would you let her go?"

The high priest cocked his eyebrow, "You would have to find this replacement before the summer solstice in three day's time... And this replacement would have to be equal to the outsider in Pauk's eyes as well..."

The high priest scoffs, takes Jackqueline by the arm and shoves her in the direction of the hedgehog. "You have three days! Do not be late or you will be the one on the alter next time!" Having said that the ceremony is postponed, the high priest leers down at Jackqueline as he passes them by, "You may have lived this time, outsider, but there's always the next ceremony!" He leaves that as his final word, and quits their company. Jackqueline looks up at her rescuer from her seat on the ground, not quite sure what to say.

The hedgehog extends a hand to her and says "Come, let's get out of here. I've probably made a lot of enemies very quickly."

With that, he quickly sprints away from the arena of gathering and to the outskirts of the settlement, nearly sweeping Jackqueline off her feet, whereupon he enters a hut.

((You have very good diction)) Jackqueline leans over her knees and pants to catch her breath, she feels as though her heart is going to pound itself out of her chest. A thought she doesn't welcome herself to think.

the-indigo-angel ((You have very good diction)) (You really think so? That's just the way I talk most of the time, especially when telling narrations like this. sweatdrop )
The hedgehog noticed Jackqueline's fretted expression, and attempts to calm her by putting a hand on her shoulder. He says "Do not worry, for I mean you no harm. Even though I don't know you, I couldn't bear to see you get sacrificed."

Jackqueline smiles up at him, "Thank you, you're a very noble hedgehog! But still what are you going to do? Are you going to find a replacement for me or are you going to just avoid these tribe people? Because if that's what your plan is you might want to move half way around the world to avoid them!"
