Mikan Sakura is an orphan who lives in the country side of Japan. When her best friend, Hotaru, transfers away to a prestigious school in Tokyo, Mikan follows her. The school is actually an elite academy for people with special gifts called "alices". Mikan encounters a teacher and gets enrolled due to a certain series of events. She is told that she has a unique and rare "alice". She meets many people, including the moody Natsume: a boy who gets abused by the school. They get along like fire and water, yet are undeniably attracted to one another.

Though she is at first unaware; there is a never ending stream of lies and buried secrets beneath the grand facade of the school. The school’s increasingly manipulative and sinister actions towards her make it a dangerous place to be. Her own enrollment set the gears in motion to an even greater tragedy.

I've watched this anime and is reading the manga. The manga is still ongoing but it's going to end soo or so I've heard. It's one of the best. Nastume is hot and Mikan is soooooooo ADORABLE. It got it's heartbreaken moment but it is still the best. It's a romance by the way but it doesn't show as such in the anime. I really hope that they have a season two.

Well, the anime is cheerful but not the manga so I wouldn't say that the info you got from wiki is wrong. I think it was describing the manga because the anime didn't go as long as the manga. I would give you the summary of the manga but I don't want to spoil it for you guys. xD

Well, they tell u the story about how her parent met. Her dad was a teacher at alice academy and her mom was a student. Her dad got the nullification alice and her mom got the transportation and stealing alice. Mikan ended up having nullification and the stealing alice. The elementary school principal found out that Mikan got the stealing alice and want to use mikan to take out an alice that her mom put in the elementary school principal before she ran away. Mikan can steal alice and insert alice into people so they can use the alice too and her mom can do that too. Her dad was killed by persona although persona really liked her dad. He was used by the elementary school principal. Mikan mom came for her and they tried to run away because the elementary school principal is after Mikan but her mom got killed. she got capture and was locked up in a room in alice academy with a barrier so that no one can find her. Also, the high school principal is Mikan's uncle. That is how far the manga is at right now. Oh, Mikan and Natsume kiss twice in the manga. xD Also, Natsume mom was a friend of Mikan's mom when they were still in alice acedemy. His mom was helping Mikan's mom when she was on the run and she was there when Mikan's mom had Mikan. Hotaru's older brother also knows Mikan's mom and gave her his alice rock. Mikan's mom gave it to Natsume's mom amd Natsume's mom gave it to Natsume. That's the necklace that he's wearing. Idk if it shows in the anime though.
