I already have this posted in my journal. But basically, I'm making a Loyal teapot for those who don't already know, and will be posting here with my updated progress. After day one Ill have a link to each post that has updates on the progress. Geeeet it? Good. This is where the list will be. LIST (can't get more obvious) Day one: YOU ARE HERE Day two: =w=Day three: =w=Day four: =w=Day five: =w=Day six: =w=Ill also topic change when theirs an update so yall know, kay? So heres day one which was actulay yesterday! Loyal Monsieur Tea Pot day one Well, the design has been done for a bit. Just right when Im gonna turn it in the teachers gone and theirs a sub. =_= I don't trust subs with ANYTHING. So I still have it. XD This is the design. And a loyal chibi looking at them. I just HAD to have Loyal be my first paper friend picture. =D Front Back Heres for better images of design. I just liked those pics above XD http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll181/shinypachirisu/S4010486.jpgBack http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll181/shinypachirisu/S4010469.jpgFront And so todaaay (now yesterday) in class I figured the teacher couldnt hate me for getting just the base done. Which after adding more and more clay to get the height turned out to taking the whole class. The project will be about 5-6 inches tall. Clay shrinks, so the EXACT height is hard to determine, especially after adding stuff onto it. so right now, its a kinda giant round blob of clay. And it's hollow. Just hollow side down with a cup in it so it doesn't smash apon its self from being moist. Isn't it BEAUTIFUL! blaugh Well thats where I am. Ill scan the pictures of the cups and plates when I make them look nice. Their of the other cast, though I'm leery about doing that. For some reason. neutral

Loyal Monsieur Teapot Day 2 Well today not much got done. I was working on making the sphere all smooth (hard to do right now) and making the thinkness even. But i was able to adjust the lid size opening and KINDA got the funnel on Just the funnel isn't adjusted yet. I rushed to take a picture and had no time to fix it up. Still got a sub. '_' Ill probobly have more exciting stuff next time. sorry. At least its not a sphere of clay XD

Loyal Clay teapot Day 3 Sooooooooooooooo I got a lot done. =D If you look at the origonal design you can see whats what. Though the tie handle needs some adjustment, sence it was just put on. Also the funnel was made smaller and has the lower area blocked off so that way the teapot can fill and be usable. Also the lid needs to be tinkered with to fit perfectly. This stands from bottom to swirl on lid about 6 inches. So its a bit rough now, but thats how everything starts. XD

Loyal clay teapot day 4 Well I got a heck lot done today, and had to stay after too. Main reason: Bag I put my teapot in apparently had a small hole. 4 DAYS IN THAT BAG WITH A HOLE! Never good. It was almost totally dryed so I was racing to smash everything on (well not smash...) and keeping the project as moist as I could. I have extreme douts that anything can be placed on it now, but at least I got everything on. Well sence I had to race the stuff isn't very pritty but ITS ON. XD Ill make it pritty next class and smooth it all out and carve and all that jaz. Heres how the teapot looks right now. And some close ups Those spike things on that second pic around that swirl were so hard to do from a flat peice I was laughing the whole time. Like when you whack your leg so hard it hurts so bad that you laugh. That scenario. *proud* Ill make them pritty later XD more pics http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll181/shinypachirisu/S4010531.jpghttp://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll181/shinypachirisu/S4010532.jpgHope ya like how its comming along. Tell me if I messed up. XD *hasnt started the cups and plates for cups yet. Kinda got messed up when that 9th tarrot card reader came in. Its supposd to be of the crew. 9. WHY! gonk *

Loyal Clay Teapot Day 5 not tooooo big of an update. I couldn't get much done sence my pot liked breaking on me everywhere. Half of the spike thing around the swirl (seen on his pants), the bow under thats tip, and three spikes on the lid. yah. fun day. '_' Took a while to fix so I could get to work. So heeeeeeres what happened! the little strand thing, as seen before, has been turned into a chain from being carved into. took quite a while. Its a small space. '_' like, less than a centimeter wide. aaaaaand I made this look pritty the tan stuff is patch a tatch when something dry comes off and cant be added with overly moist clay with scoring. you use patch a tatch. thatswhy that spot isnt pritty, the spikes, that broke, cause it has to dry like glue so i couldnt do much to them. But the swirl is pritty and took forever by taking off bit by bit between them so they would seperate and smoothing them all out. Sorry theirs not much. It was like, breaking. XD But its looking pritty! Hopefully cups and plates next time. Tarrot card reader will be cup handles. Ill add her in that way. =w=

I have no clue how you do those tiny details. My clay work is ...usually wonky. gonk
I also have trouble getting the right glaze for my clay stuff, since I use the scuplty stuff and its not really "fired". Lint and stuff ends up sticking to the charm and messing it up and its frustrating as hell.

I'm loving the little details. It's all nice and smooth, totally worth it, imo. xD
So, let me get this straight, things were breaking because it was too dry, and I assumed that it broke when you try to move the thin pieces of clay around, right? That reminds me of play-doe I had as a little kid. :0

XD I get the tiny details because we have a tool that I call the pokey thingy. you can see it on day three first pic to the right. Basically its a piece of metal slightly sharp at the end like a millimeter or 1 1/2 millimeters thick, and sence Im an artist with a cautious hand, I can use that to make small teeny details. Also this is my 3rd clay class, each being a simester long, so I've had some experience. Outs is fired, but I believe one of the kilns broke down so......fired more slowly! XD

But that was all the damage. The next update will be on monday. that day scares me. XD

The next update will be on monday. that day scares me. XD Huh, so it probably broke apart because it weren't able to hold up its own weight (the parts that already been broken). How complicating, wouldn't have thought it would happen since I pay too much attention to making details. Why does Monday scare you? Is it because you have to wait over the weekend, and hope that nothing goes wrong? Or, it's near the last few days to finish it? xD

XD just, what will happen to that teapot? 0_0 what will dry that i cannot fix or crack! kowai I dono why the parts broke. Their not heavy at all. this teapot is like 5-6 inches tall. (small details are small) Well their dry but like peices of them breaking off, I dono.
