Out in the woods sits the Traiylor's home, out in a clearing somewhere close to the lake. It's unknown of how long it has been there, but it seems obvious by the damage to the exterior and interior of the home that it certainly was there during the hurricane - perhaps even before it.. The Traiylor's took it mostly because it wasn't close to town, which all of them had preferred quite nicely for their own reasons. If one were to go through the home - which isn't advisable in the least - they would see a drastic change in environment as they went to each room. Well, each accessible room, that is. Almost half of the home is too dangerous to really go deep into -- namely, the upstairs. The living room seems untouched from when it was first bought, only swept up during the winter time by Benedetta, but otherwise left alone. The kitchen is completely cleaned with some more modern appliances added by the same woman, while the bathroom has a touch of the same nature. The bedroom is kept simple and liveable, used by all the Ben's throughout the year - aside from Benedictus, who prefers to sleep outside. The cellar, which is accessed from the outside, is designed in the same style of a padded room for Emery's sake.

It had taken Elliot a long time to find this place, and as she approached the old house, she looked at it with wide, dark eyes. It really... looked scary, didn't it? Like a haunted house or something. Oh, but it was probably just old. And old didn't mean anything, right! Besides, at least it made it easy for her to identify it as the place. She had been certain she would never find it. It had taken her long enough to find the church itself, so when she was told by an NPC walking by that the gravekeeper was at home, she was immediately sure that she would get lost or be unable to tell it apart from the other houses. But the NPC was right -- it was easy to spot.

Clasping her hands behind her back, Elliot slowly trudged up the house. It probably was a very nice looking house at one point, and it probably could be again if someone just cleaned it up and gave it a new coat of paint. She peered into one of the windows as she passed, though she couldn't make anything out, before pausing in front of the door, staring it down for a few moments. It wasn't too late, she could go home and wait at the church some other day. But no, there wasn't anything to be nervous about. It was just a house, and just a person. So she knocked.

..It was a wonder that anyone had come to the door at all, judging from the leaves falling away from the trees just outside and the cool autumn wind blowing by, as this was the time of year Benedictus had chosen to come to stay. The man was more often outside sleeping in the grass or stumbling around the woods, somehow managing not to bump into any deadly creatures or people as he explored, while the only person actually inside the home was locked in the cellar until their evening walk to the cemetery. Of course, it was nearing that time, so perhaps that was why, when Elliot had knocked at the door, that it took just a moment of slow, steady taps from within before the blind mole was at the door, seemingly peering at the girl through thick, dark sunglasses.

Ah, but that was impossible as this was Benedictus! If his eyes were looking anywhere, they were probably wandering in random directions elsewhere, normally in the opposite direction.. At least the sunglasses concealed that oddity to make whoever he was with more comfortable, but he wouldn't have known either way with the girl. Hell, it was hard to say anyone actually knew when Elliot was feeling uncomfortable, sight or not. But, that was beside the point. A moment of silence passed as he waited for someone to say something, greet him, perhaps, but it didn't seem like that was going to happen without his own initiative. ..Then again, he could have just been nervous that no one was there. “..Hello?” He called out, just in case whoever was at the door was a little farther back and wouldn't hear him otherwise.

Elliot jumped when the door opened. Even though someone was supposed to be in there, and she had knocked, and that meant that someone would open the door. But when it actually happened, it startled her. She blamed the creepiness of the house. She stared up at the man for a long moment. He wore sunglasses even though he had been inside and it didn't look like any lights were on. And he didn't seem to see her. Was he blind? Oh, she could feel herself get excited again. Another blind person! She was meeting such interesting people~ River would be so jealous when she told her that she had met a blind guy! "Hello," Elliot chirped, looking up at the man with a small trace of a smile, though he couldn't see it. For once, someone who wouldn't get freaked out by her blank face! "My name's Elliot Park, I'm here for my school's career week. Are you a mortician?" she asked. He didn't look like one. She had imagined an old, skinny, pale man, not someone who was young and looked relatively healthy. "I was told I could find one here."

Oh, good! He wasn't being tricked right then! Benedictus smiled happily to himself because, for one, he had a visitor! He hardly ever had a visitor! It was odd to him, since he didn't find their home that far from town – it was pretty close to the church, in all actuality.. But, still, it seemed as though people avoided the place like the plague! He would never understand why, it sounded like a nice home from what his siblings had said.. Even so, he didn't like sleeping inside of it. The nature was his home~ He wasn't going to hide away from that! Ah, but, he should really pay attention to the girl. She sounded small, young, probably, and he would assume she was more of a quiet sort of girl based on her volume.. There wasn't much ups or downs in the girl's tone, a lilt here and there to give the subtlest of hints to what she was feeling, but he had to focus on them to catch them. It was rather difficult to understand what she was probably feeling right then, but he would have to blame that on his vision. Odd, he normally could handle people without it.. Oh, well.

Mortician..?” He repeated slowly, considering that. Yes, he.. well, he wasn't really, that was actually Emery's job. But, he did help her a lot of the time since she was just a young girl and, officially speaking, he was the mortician. He supposed the school would have just seen it how it was listed in the end. So, he gave a nod, “Yes, I am. Come inside, Elliot.” He carefully stepped to the side and let the door creak open further on it's own so the girl could come in, trusting the autumn wind to do that for him. “I'm Benedictus, but you can call me Benny. Is there a nickname I could use, Elliot, or is it just Elliot for you?” The inside of the home was, of course, dark. Benedictus didn't have any reason to turn on the lights and it often slipped his mind when he was alone. Plus, even if the lights did matter to him, he wouldn't use them. So unnatural!

Believe or not, Elliot was so relieved that she had gotten the right place and that the man seemed so nice that she smiled as he introduced himself and invited her inside. Too bad such a normal display of emotion was lost on the man. "I don't have a nickname, no one has ever given me one," she explained plainly as she followed him inside. It was true, not even the three others who had been with her since birth addressed her as anything but Elliot. Nicknames weren't something usually used in their family; Alex was the only one who went by something different than his birth name, and that was because they all agreed that 'Alexander' was pretentious. So Elliot didn't mind not having a nickname, though now that Benedictus -- Benny -- asked, she wondered if she were missing out on something special.

Elliot looked around the house as she followed in. It certainly was dark. It was still day out, so it wasn't impossible to see, but it made things look just that more creepy. "Do... do you usually keep it so dark?" she asked before realizing what she had said. Of course! If he were blind, like she guessed, then what would he need lights for? It would just be a waste! So she quickly changed the subject. "I don't really know what a mortician does. Is it fun?"

No nickname? Oh, well, she didn't sound very depressed over it. Considering Benedictus's own nickname came from someone who wasn't even friendly to him or his family, he never found a nickname as anything personal. Just a more commonly or easier to use version of a name – plus, he was sure she could remember 'Benny' easier than his actual name. Being a teenager, he wasn't sure how much care she would give to some older guy's weird name.. Then again, Elliot sounded to be rather nice of a girl. He smiled at that, agreeing completely with himself although he had only known her for maybe a minute or less.. Ah, but that little voice of doubt was just some negativity that had yet to leave himself. It was from being inside this man-made home, he was sure. Oh, well, he would get rid of it later during a nature hike. “Elliot it is, then.” He confirmed as he continued to stand by the door until she gave a sign that she was ready to move on in their meeting. The wind felt so nice~ Even cold as it was, the scents and soft pressure was enough to have him content~

Mm?” He arched an eyebrow as Elliot spoke, frowning at himself for missing her first line. He should really put more attention on the girl than the air. He shook his head and reached for the door, missing it once before getting a hold on it if only because he wasn't used to shutting it. But, this time, he needed to block out nature. He silently apologized for that as he heard the door click shut, “Mortician.. Oh, that's right – that is why you're here, isn't it?” He chuckled gently as he carefully turned himself to face – hopefully – where the young girl was standing. “I enjoy it, but most find it to be..” He frowned – he didn't like using negative terms, but sometimes he would have to bare with it to educate others. “..gross. Emery has fun when we do it.” He added thoughtfully – was Elliot around Emery's age? He could hardly tell just from a voice, but she didn't sound that young, yet she was still in school.. “Do you like playing with dolls? Or.. applying make up?” ..Alright, they weren't the parts of the job that he liked, but it was still.. something, wasn't it? Bennie did compare it to that once for Emery's benefit, it could work in getting Elliot's interest.

What was that? That house was so... so... so.. CREEPY!!!! EEEEEK!!! Why was one of her follower living there? Did she had a serial killer as a protege? Oh! She sure hoped not! Serial killers should go under Chrysanthemum, not her! She was the one with the freaky people.... After circling the weird looking house for the tenth time, she decided to close her eyes and just go right in! Like when you jump into water! Little problem, she forgot that walls weren't made of liquid and bumped her head against it. She shook her little fairy head, sight, and went through the window. Not even bothering to find a surface, she paced on the floor a plate with grapes in it, as well as a small skyblue envelope... .handwritten. Well, Benedictus had just moved to the island! You couldn't expect her to know he was blind!

"Benedictus... I don't really know you, being new and all but... I heard you helped one of Ilex's so you are nice... you didn't rape her did you? Or killed her? Or fed her something that didn't tasted good? That would just be mean... Mmm... Oh, and you actually take care of your sister. That's nice. Can you just move away? Dante Tepes and Walter Dolones could help you!"

Okay, so the man had ignored her question about the lights. Elliot took that as a sign she shouldn't bring it up again. Oh no! What if she had offended him? She could feel herself begin to feel a little nervous. She didn't mean to offend him... Oh, but he didn't seem to be that angry about it... Elliot watched Benedictus carefully, trying to decide if he was offended by her question afterall... But she had never been good at reading subtle emotions like that, so she gave up and decided to ignore it as well. And that's when she realized what he was saying.

"Not really," Elliot replied with a small, unseen shrug. "My sisters like it, but they never were good at sharing." Actually, she just made them nervous. Everyone in her family were perplexed by her perpetual blank expression, so she didn't blame her sisters for deciding not to play with someone so boring. "...Who's Emery?" she asked after a moment of thought. Yes, she was more interested by the mention of someone else than him mentioning it was gross.

Oh? She didn't like dolls? ..Well, neither did Benedek, but he didn't seem to mind the job either – maybe it wouldn't matter? Benedictus motioned for the girl to follow him before he answered her, speaking aloud just to make sure he had made the right hand motion. Hey, how could he honestly tell what the difference between all those ambiguous hand motions the narrator always made references to yet never took the time to describe? He was blind! “Come here – I guess the best way is to just show you.” He chuckled as he turned to start tapping his way down the hallway to head into his study. He spoke as he lead her slowly there, speaking loud enough to where it echoed in the empty house, but it didn't take much considering how quiet the place was. “My sister is Emery – you have sisters too, don't you? Not that unusual.” ..Of course, not everyone had their sister living in a padded room below, but that could come up later.

For now, Benedictus opened the door to his study, which was.. pretty.. well, it wasn't dirty, but the design of it was probably worse than the living room, what with the large body refrigerators in the corner, the tools left out for easy access on the counter, and a long, metal table big enough to fit a 7 foot tall man should they need to. They couldn't exactly afford to have many different tables to work with, so just one large one had to do. He paused just inside, the sound of the floor changing from wood to tiles telling him that they had reached their destination. “A mortician, or funeral director, is someone who works with the deceased for death rites and things like that, all depending on what the family or the will says to do. Most of the work is done in this room, but we also tend to the graveyard, bury the bodies, and otherwise help whoever the dead left behind. Embalming and burial is the more popular means on the island.” Was that informative enough? Oh, he hoped so! Still, if she had any questions.. He stayed waiting for her to say something just in case. This was actually fun! He hadn't had a visitor or anyone interested in the family's work before~!

In a complete time paradox, Ilex had fluttered into the home – or, well, no.. He actually was stuck outside in the cold winter going through the cellar doors to where the little redhead was sleeping soundly in her padded room. It gave him the shivers to be in such a home, even if he was a fairy, so he made this quick! He went to a corner of the room where he dropped a small, classic alarm clock, white to match the.. décor.. anyway, next to the device, he left an orange envelope addressed to Emery Traiylor..

Can.. Can you read this? I don't know! I'm sorry! I just don't know if you know how to read! You aren't doing well in school – or are you? I'm sorry again – um! I'm going to say you.. you seem to be doing really well and stuff – did that upset you?! I'm sorry, I've never had a follower like you before! They've all been really nice! And everything! Not that you aren't nice! It's why I'm leaving you this in your room so you have something better to do – your room is pretty nice, by the way, so soft~! But, um, see, I WANT to tell you that you should go out and make friends, but I'm unsure because it could be bad – oh, but, you should have friends like everyone else, shouldn't you? I mean, you've never hurt anyone, you're kinda funny, but it's just I.. It's just maybe your siblings scaring me! Your brothers and sister – they're just so scary they're muddling up my good senses! And this house is scary too! You should get a better home or else no one will want to hang out with you, Emery! Good luck and I hope you like your gift!

Elliot glanced around the living room once more before following after Benedictus, trotting along behind him energetically, so that her pigtails bobbed up and down with each step. "Yeah, I have four. I like sisters," she commented simply as she focused on the man's back. That was sort of half true. She wasn't really fond of Leanna or Scout, but Erika had always been a lot nicer to her than the other two... Though that wasn't saying much, either. But she loved River, and that was enough to off set any neutral feelings she had towards the other three. So she could generalize about something like that.

Elliot was surprised when Benedictus opened the door to the room, revealing... well, mortician things! She looked around the room with as much curiosity and interest as she could manage, as she listened to him speak. It sounded like an encyclopedia article, but that was fine, she liked that. Nice and to the point, and objective. She likes objective things. They were easy to understand. "It sounds like hard work," she remarked lightly, packing the information away into her brain so that she could access it again later. "But it's nice, helping people. Do many people die here?" she asked, turning towards the man. It seemed like a perfectly appropriate question to her. Sure, she could just bother to read the paper time to time, but it made more sense to just ask him directly~

Two houses done, seven more to go! But first, that big giant house that could scare the Goddess away! Eeek! Who would want to ever life there, she had no idea… unless, they were to change it into a haunted house to attract some tourists… Oh, that would be wonderful! She should write a book about a haunted house now that she taught about it. Ah! Yeah, later! For now, she still had gifts to deliver. She poofed inside the kitchen and place a popsicle over one of the plate…. An unflavoured popsickle made of basic ice. Next to it, was a small blue origami shaped like a car… or was it a skunk?

”Good morning Benedettea!... were you even sleeping? Uhm.. yeah. Uh… what was I supsoe to say again… Oh! Right.. I don’t know you. After all, you’ve only been here for a couple of days, and since I need to give gifts to everyone who’s on the island, that includes you! Therfore, I brought you a gift! Oh, I know, it’s very plain and simple, but that reflects what I know about you : Nothing. Don’t hate me! Not my fault if you have just moved to the island… While you’re here, you should meet some new people; like Yuuto Koyama! He’s a teacher at the school, I’m sure he could give you advise on how to take care of your young sister! It’s so nice of you to take care of her like that! … Even though I have to wonder if it’s not because of you and your brothers that she’s actually in that state… ah, who am I to judge, really? Talking about judging, I’ve heard that your brother (the green one) had been hanging out a lot with that Lawyer, Kevin! I have to say, I can only approve of that relationship! Kevin is a wonderful personthat you would gain to know, too! Everyone can always use a lawyer in their life! Especially people like your family… Ah! I’m running out of paper! I need to go! Please, be nice to your family and meet some new people… whom you should be nice toward too… and.. yeah, that’s about it. Good bye!

With a trembling hand, Lavender held tight a small bird to her back, its wings bound by small rope so that it didn't attempt to fly away. Though, she was very tempted to fly away herself, the house was horrifying! The poor thing, she was going to leave it here? The bird seemed to agree as it gave loud squawks of defiance, turning to high pitch caws that disturbed her ears as they got closer. Oh goddess, she didn't want to even go inside! Oh, she didn't have to! Grabbing a decently heavy rock, she untied the string from her body and then wrapped it around the rock and then hauled it in front of the front door. The bird, squirming with bound feet and wings, rolled helplessly in front of the door, squawking up a storm.

Dear, Bene guy

I don't know if you're even in that creepy lookin house, I wouldn't blame you if you weren't, or ever came back after living in it – cause oh goddess what's the matter with you if you did? What are you, nuts? My best advice, move out!! I won't even bother with the whole you having a d**k thing and not a nice supple pair of breast. Mmm, breast.. Soft, soft breast.. Breast like Orchid's, yeah.. If someone had her breast, I'd be all over them and all in them like.. like maggots! Oh that's not a good comparison.. See, it's your creepy house that doesn't even let me have my day dreams properly! Just, move out, please. Make this easier for me next time!

Ah, how nice that Elliot liked her sisters~ Something they had in common! He was about to mention just that when he heard the girl walk on in ahead of him and seem to explore the area. He couldn't be sure, though every footstep in the quiet house was loud enough to meet his keen ears and, if he went based on just that, it did sound like she did one or two steps too many to have just entered the room. ..That, or Elliot was shorter and needed to take more steps than he did on average. Both could work considering he had already pegged her for a smaller girl. “Not really that hard.” He replied with that same smile in place. Well, it wasn't as if anything had happened to make him not want to do it, right? Besides, it was pleasant having someone over, why not show it? He though for a moment on what she asked next, taking the time to step into the room after her. Did many people die here?

There seems to be a.. good amount.” Was good the right way to say it? Oh, better than saying it was 'a lot', he supposed. “There were a few from a boat crash – one of which we have in the freezer now. The family were hoping for a open casket funeral.” He motioned to said freezer as he spoke, or where he was certain the freezer was located. He sometimes forgot just where it was in the room, to be honest. “Emery says the man looks good, but..” Did he need to finish that? He was blind! He could hardly tell whether the body looked good enough or not. “Would you like to see?” He offered after a short pause. ..Maybe not the best thing to show a teenage girl, but this was something common for Benedictus – he couldn't see anything wrong with it, pun intended.

Elliot's eyes were as wide as saucers by this point. There was just so much information to think about, so many things she had never considered before! She was almost at a loss of what to do with it all. Actually, more than anything, she just wasn't sure how to understand it. She had lived a pretty sheltered life up until this point, she wasn't sure how to react when someone said that a "good amount" of people died on the island. She had heard about the boat crash, though for some reason, she hadn't processed that a boat crash would mean fatalities or that that then would mean people to be buried. "Oh..." she replied on impulse. Yes, a nice, neutral response. But then he asked if she wanted to see, and she was put into a further state of confusion. "I... I don't know if I want to or not," she said honestly. Like most things, she was feeling neutral towards the issue. She had no reasons to see, but she had no reasons not to either. She would probably be content either way. "...Should I want to?" He had a sister! Maybe he understood how girls were supposed to act! Ohh, where was River when you needed her?
