My favorite Unova starter was Mijumaru, or Oshawott for those who don't know the original Japanese names ^^
And to whom it may concern,
There is a dying Pokemon RP guild that is very well structured and organized, and in dire need of activity and members. It's called Pokemon Hidden Legends, and the leader is Requiem of Whyspers. Please take time if you are an active-semi active, lit - semi lit RPer who loves pokemon as dearly as we do in the guild.

Oshawott is what I chose in my Pokemon White, but it was a harder decision than I thought.
I love the design of Snivy/Servine/Serperior. But like most grass-type starters, its moveset is pretty bad. Mainly grass and normal moves, even when including TMs and HMs.
Emboar has a good range of move types, but I HATE EMBOAR (and the preevolutions Tepig and Pignite are sub-par too). Which is weird. Fire types are usually my favorite.
So I chose Oshawott, the middle ground. I gave my Samurott a decent moveset of Slash, Surf, X-Scissor, and Ice Beam. My only qualm with Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott is that Samurott is such a huge change from the looks of Oshawott and Dewott. And I think I liked their designs better than Samurott's...

I don't like the pigs at all, and I agree with you about grass type starter movesets, they suck. Besides, he's a snake, why isn't he poison too? That would add plenty of moves. And Samurott really is too much of a change, it goes from cute bipedal otter pokemon to a giant shell headed skinny walrus thing.

My favorite starter is Snivy. Though I kinda messed up mine. I reset my game a lot when I first got Black in order to have it Modest, but little did I know, its movepool was not very suited for Special Sweeping. Not very good Special Sweeping anyway. I like Tepig, but because I like Oshawatt's final form better, for aesthetic reasons, he comes in third to me.
