I'm not huge on divination, when I do I mostly scry into a mirror or still water, sometimes a fire. I would imagine though it's fairily similar.

Actually some consider Crystal ball gazing to be a type of scrying.

The main objective behind scrying is to relax your consious mind and yet still keep focused on one thing.

The hardest part, is getting past the, "This is uh . . . kind of boring." stage. Once you do that you can start to see images form things of that sort.

Another tip is, try not to interpret anything at that point, wait untill you've seen whatever it is you've seen. Then relfect and interpret otherwise you may just be pulling yourself out of that trance state you know what I'm saying? By thinking too much.

At least that how I do it.

Yeah, it takes some discipline. Practice makes perfect though. 3nodding I think just a quick little . . "ok that was a face" or something like that shouldn't pull you out it completely but what I tend to do is imidiatly after seeing all I feel I'm going to is close my eyes and invision it again sort of like, ingraining the image into my mind. Then later try to recall any details I can.

I'd like to know that too. I'm still at the trying to "calme the mind" stage.... I have three: one Black Obsidian, Calcite, and Quarts. they all fit in my palm.....maby i should try to get a biger one.

Good question. I feel it kind of depends on how you view divination. I think sometimes people think that it's just all going to pop out. *Not saying anyone in specific mind you, don't want to put anyone on the defensive. Just generalizing.) I feel however it's more a less a boost, or realy a lead. To the right direction of knowledge that we're all capible of finding. Therefore, in that frame of thought there's no need to separate vision/remembering what we did see. The vision enhances and is a result of what we saw, therefore an part of the equation to help solve our problem/quesion whatever you divined about.

Again, and as always, just my opinion/beliefe but that is how I would answere that question.

K, I think I may see what is giving you trouble. With any type of scrying, don't focus on that reflection. Look "beneath it" "under it" if that makes since.

For example say your using a black bowl filled with water. When your gazing into look under the surface of the water, into it. This tends to help you get into a tranced state better.

Or say your using fire, you'de be better to look down into the coals rather than the flames.

Same with a mirror, or smoke, your trying to look into, past the reflection.

With your stones try to look into them, past/underneath the reflection.
