You know the rules. Do I even need to post this?

Summer vacation was over, and the new school year had finally arrived. Although the first week wasn't exactly full of learning or hitting the books, the majority of students were still bummed that they didn't have anymore time away from having to think about useless teachings that wouldn't help them with much out in the real world. Except, of course, for those few students who couldn't be more happy about being surrounded by their peers and teachers and all the old books that were falling apart at the seams.

The first three days had gone by easily. It had all been mainly getting to know the teachers, as well as the new students while getting acclimated to the classrooms and figuring out what classes you actually had for the semester. But now, it was Friday morning, and everyone was excited for the weekend. Before classes were to start, everyone was ushered into the gymnasium for an assembly. It was one of those beginning of the year pep assemblies, but by some of the set up on the floor, it looked like it might actually be a good one.

The first half of the assembly was mainly the staff being introduced, as well as them going over a brief descriptions of the classes before showing a little school spirit and brought out the sports teams. Once that was one, the principle had the floor cleared as she introduced one of the school bands, the dance team, and the drill team.

Mika Johnson, a tanned skinned girl with brown eyes and dark brown and blond hair down to her mid back walked out to the middle of the gym floor with a microphone. She was wearing a white long sleeved shirt and a skirt with leggings and black boots that had some belt straps. Behind her followed two guys for base and guitar, and another guy rolling out his drums. On either side of them was the dance team and the school drill team, as well as a DJ on the left wall.

'Cause you were born this way, baby." Mika started, getting a few good shouts in response before getting into the actual music lyrics of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way.' The dance team and drill team all started dancing, doing some tricks in the air as well. Even the lights changed from the roof to make it even more fun for everyone.

After the first chorus was done, everyone on the floor froze, and the lights turned off as the music went silent. "...DJ, turn it up." Mika said, pointing over to the DJ at the wall. When she did that, some quiet beats started up again, and the dance and drill team took off their jackets, wearing glow stick outfits in the dark as they started to move. "DJ, turn it up!" The music started to get louder. When Mika held the microphone out to the students at the bleachers, she got the vast majority to say 'DJ turn it up!' on their own before she said it one more time and jumped into Kesha's "We Are."

When the song finished, the lights came back on. Mika was smiling, giving her band mates a hug and high fiving some of the dance members. She laughed, hearing the shouts coming from the students. They even got some woots from the football team. Mika headed off of the floor with the group, passing the microphone back to the principle. Leaning back on the wall, Mika crossed her arms, quietly talking to one of the guys she played with before her eyes wandered to the other side of the room, seeing who was there among the staff.

"Thank you performers! Let's give them one more hand!" The principle said into the microphone, clapping for them all again. "Now if everyone could go ahead and make their way back to their homerooms, we'll regroup for fifteen minutes before heading off to your first period classes and going through with the day." The principle nodded to everyone, then the staff to get things moving.

Mika watched Hiei and Kurama leave, her mind wandering slightly. She didn't even hear her band mate talking right next to her until he nudged her arm. Asking if she was okay, Mika looked up with a nod, running a hand through her hair. Moving to head out of the gymnasium, Mika stopped, hearing someone else talking to her. She looked up at Yusuke, staring for a couple seconds before shaking her head. "Um, thanks." Mika smiled, rolling up her shirt sleeves to her elbows. "You're, uh... Yusuke, right?" The tan girl asked as she looked up at the greaser boy. "I'm Mika." She greeted, holding her hand out for a shake.

"You too." Mika replied, taking her hand back. Seeing where the dark haired boy was looking, she saw Hiei. Mika held her breath, gripping her sleeve on her other arm before looking away as the two walked off. "Get a grip." She mumbled to herself, starting to walk towards her homeroom classroom. Mika was soon distracted though by some of her friends coming up and taking the girl by the arms.

Mika blinked, looking down when she felt someone slide through her legs. Looking up again, she stopped dead in her tracks, seeing Akuro. She didn't understand why this was happening. Why these guys were here? "I'll see you guys at lunch." Mika said to her friends, moving away from them and walking up to Kid, putting her arm around the red head's shoulders. "Hey Mr. Akuro. I'll get her straight to class." Mika smiled, giving the vampire a thumbs up before steering Kid towards their homeroom. "Sick board." She said once they were a few feet away, letting go of Kid.

Mika smiled, shaking the girls hand. "Mika Johnson." She replied, introducing herself. "Greaser... You mean that Yusuke guy?" Mika asked with a blink. "I think he walked off with the new janitor?"
