This is a subject that I love. The wonderous, genius, odious, and very likely posthumous, Dwemer!
Arguably the most contentious thing about "The Deep People" is the manner in which they all but ceased to be. There are quite a few theories about what happened to the Dwemer when Kagrenac taped the heart. Personally, I like the theory that they all ascended to another plane, but the one with the most proof is the theory that they all died. Between the Dwemer specters in some ruins and the piles of ash witnessed and reported in almost all the fresh ones it seems like the coolest of the elves are gone for good... emo
But That doesn't mean we can't talk about 'em! mrgreen What was your favorite Ruin? How about Your favorite artifact? Maybe you have another theory!

I haven't play MW in a long time to remember the names of the Dwemer Ruins. I do have to say that I like the "dwarven" armor in OB better than what was in MW. The MW Dwemer armor was WAY to bulky looking for my tastes. My favorite artifact is either Wraithguard or Spell Breaker. As for a theory as to where they have gone, well since Vivic could not find them in any of the other planes, I would have to say they either died, or was sent to a plane that not even Vivic could see into.

Actually, there are two known types of Dwemer armor. The kind most commonly found in Morrowind is believed to be the outer casings of the various Animunculi the dwemer used, hollowed out and made off as armor. The kind in TES IV is actual armor, but it's origins as dwemer are a tad dubious.

Talking to the Last Dwemer opens up for more argument in theorys relating to their disappearence. He says that this was going to happen once they had found the Heart, it was only a matter of time. Also, he believes that Kagrenac went mad with a thirst for power, or that Kagrenac belived that the Dwemer should be the only ones to access the Heart and attempted to keep it that way. In any case, I think that all Dwemer were accedently killed when Kag tried some spell or used the Hammer and Dagger to take more power from the Heart, thus causing a backlash when his power and the Heart met and clashed against each other. The only strange part is why all other Dwemer were effected by this. Anything is possible with Magicka.

Mankar Camoran was able to make his own Plane with Ol' Runesie's help, why couldn't Kagrenac with the heart.

I have a strange theory, and it mostly doesnt account for the failure of Vivic to find them. But seeing how that was the heart of Lockrahn (spelling error i know) and the two moons of Nirn are said to be the body of him. I think the Dwemer realized that as long as they stayed on Nirn they would be caught up in conflicts like the one with the Dunmer, and wanted a more peaceful place so that they could build their technology and their society without the wars, So I believe they used the power of the heart to go to one of the moons of Nirn. After having tapped into the heart then Kagrenac would have the same divinity powers as Vivic and the others, so it is plausible that he could have used these powers to stay hidden from Vivic's search for them while on one of the moons.
I dont know, I am probably wrong, but this is what I think happened to them
