Aaren

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

Snow fell hard, piling high on the grounds all around. Wind blew strong, whipping harshly against the skin of the only man brave--or stupid--enough to go out in this weather.
There had been warnings of the snow storm. Most people had gone out ahead of time, gathered what they thought would be necessary, like squirrels gathering nuts before the winter. This kind of weather wasn't strange in the area. In fact, it happened often in winter. The townspeople and even the animals were used to having to coupe themselves up in their homes for days.

Now, back to the man who dared to walk through something like this. His name was Aaren, and the only reason he hadn't frozen to death by now was because he wasn't just any human. Actually, he wasn't human at all, but in fact, a Vampire. Though, despite this, that didn't mean he couldn't feel the cold. Even with a long, hooded, cape-like cloak wrapped around him like a blanket, tall boots keeping the snow from his toes, and his black gloves, the wind still caused his nose and cheeks to glow red.
Of course, Aaren wasn't out in this weather just to take a merry stroll. He was searching for someone. Well, "searching" may not have been the right word. He knew exactly where this person was, as long as the one he was looking for had not changed location. Knowing that man, Aaren had a feeling he would stay in one place just in case this situation came up.

You see, all vampires known to currently exist hadn't been born vampires, but were once turned by another vampire. Once turned, they shared a sort of bond with that vampire. Many called it the bond of a master and slave. Aaren had once lived with the man who turned him; Dorian. For years, in fact. The other was constantly angering him, however. There were many reasons he told himself why he disliked being around the man; He hated to be thought of as a slave to the other vampire. Dorian could be cocky, teasing, sarcastic, flirty.. and Aaren just hated when the other proved him wrong, which happened often. Though, these were likely only excuses. Aaren indeed had some interest in the man.. but refused to show it, much less admit it. He even denied it to himself.
For this reason--which, again, he would not admit--Aaren stayed with Dorian for years, helping around his--their home, the two of them keeping each other company. He did care about the other vampire, despite claiming to be irritated by the man. He assumed it had something to do with that bond.

To make a long story short, Aaren had become fed up with Dorian's teasing and wanted to prove that there was nothing keeping him there. So, he gathered his things one day and just left, claiming--out of anger, mostly--to never plan on coming back. Dorian didn't seem to believe it, which just made this return even harder for Aaren.

Now here he was, years later, walking through a nasty snow storm to get to the very man he promised never to return to. Damn, he could just imagine how smug that guy would be after seeing him. He'd done pretty well on his own for a while, but problems had started to arise. Problems he thought he could solve himself, only to find they got worse. It was becoming obvious that it was the other vampire's absence that most likely caused his troubles.
Raising his head, peeking out from under his hood, Aaren spotted some lights in the distance. As he got closer, he could clearly see it was a nice, cozy home in the middle of these woods. Exactly what he'd been looking for. No turning back now, he supposed.. Taking a few more steps toward it, a strong wind blew at just the right moment; It caused the vampire to lose his balance and fall forward, falling head first into the snow. With his face burried, Aaren shivered as one word passed through his mind; Cold...

The fire was nice… That was pretty much all Dorian could think about while gazing at it, seated before the fireplace on his favorite sofa. This was surely one thing out of the many reasons the man could state as of why he enjoyed winter; just sitting before some lively flames dancing together, appreciating the warmth emanating from them. The weather was bad outside… Anyone could barely even see through the thick snowflake fall rushing around in the harsh wind; same wind that was having the walls and such of the cozy home shiver.

Sipping from his cup of warm tea, Dorian tried to chase the disappointment away. Thing was, this time he had awoken with some…feeling that something special would occur…! but more or so, it just appeared to be like any other day. Perhaps it just had something to do with that crazy snowstorm out there… Sighing lightly, the vampire stood from his seat and walked over to the frosty window nearby. Leaning on his shoulder against the frame of it, Dorian gazed outside at the furious dance Mother Nature was offering him. Taking another sip of tea, the vampire then blew his breath on the cold window, causing it to become foggy some with the warmth of his breath. He was tempted to scribble in it, but ended up just watching it dissipate slowly. Then, some…movement outside caught his eye. Staring at the shape walking in the storm, Dorian didn’t take his eyes off of it one second, just as he took another sip from his cup. Thump. The shape had…fallen forward.
Intently watching at how it wouldn’t get back to its feet just yet, the vampire set down his small drink on the window’s frame and made his way to the front door. Setting a hand on the handle, Dorian couldn’t help some…corner smile that came to his lips. Opening the door, a cold breeze rushed in. He didn’t mind though; all he cared about was this person out there…and he had this undeniable feeling in his guts that it was the one man he had been waiting for the past years. Aaren.

Just hovering right above the thick snow on the ground, not wanting some of that in his shoes, Dorian came to the figure still in the snow. “Making a snow angel?” he held back a laugh. “Now…are you able to get yourself up to your feet or will you have me pick you up in my arms…hmm?” Probably did he already hold a cocky smile up his lips. Well, it only seemed like the male still hadn't changed after all these years; he and his attitude that Aaren liked so much........

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

When Aaren had fallen into the snow, it had been a while before he even moved. It was as if he had just given up, and planned to lay there forever. That wasn't the case, of course.. He had gone all this way, why would he give up now?... Actually, why wouldn't he? He was coming all this way just to see the cocky look on that guy's face..

Just as the face of that man crossed his mind, he thought he heard that same person's voice. He was imagining it, he assumed at first. Then he remembered how close he had been to his old home, so hearing this voice wouldn't be out of the ordinary..
Lifting his head from the snow, Aaren saw a pair of feet before him. Looking further up, he was not surprised to see Dorian looking down at him. Maybe he should have been relieved.. But he only found himself scowling at the other, at his words. "Th..That's exactly what I'm doing.." he grumbled as he got to his hands and knees. It was hard to say whether he was being sarcastic or truly trying to make Dorian believe he hadn't just fallen in the snow..

At the next question, Aaren's shoulders twitched and he quickly scrambled to his feet. "Don't even think about it," he said. "I'm just fine." Aaren pulled the hood over his head again, holding his head low. His cheeks had gone red, which he would convince himself was because of the cold air. He was already wishing he could change his mind, but it was too late for that. It would be pointless now to leave. He quickly passed Dorian as he made his way to the nicely-lit home, having already decided to lead the way. He refused to let Dorian think he was weak. It was bad enough that he was coming back at all, but to request help as soon as he got there was something he didn't plan on doing.

When he got to the door, he stopped, however. He stood for a second before stepping aside, not letting his eyes meet Dorian's. "I.. assume you'll allow me inside..?" he half-asked. It was odd to ask permission to enter the home that was once his, as well.
He tried his best not to show how much he wanted to get inside, but it was so cold out there.. and it looked so warm in there.

You may try to ignore it

When Aaren had lifted his face from the snow and looked up at him, Dorian – even though he hid it well – was glad to see his face. Those eyes of him……they pierced right through him.
When the male spoke though, the eldest vampire couldn’t help a warm feeling in his chest. His voice…….he had started to forget how it sounded, and that was shameful. So it was a huge relief to hear it again at last. Not to mention how these past years Dorian hadn’t bothered any socialization; he had stayed at his place, waiting. Even the sound of his own voice had become a blurry memory. Loneliness wasn’t what he minded…being without Aaren though, that was another thing. But he had dealt with it; he was the one who had pushed his buttons too far after all… It was his punishment for all he did wrong.

Well, when the younger one got up, clearly pointing out how he would rather the male wouldn’t touch him and quickly passed next to him, Dorian couldn’t help commenting, chasing an upcoming pout away: “Sorry but this looks like someone just fell head first in the snow… Put a little more effort the next time you try making an angel.” He really was just being a pest.
Turning on his heels -- well…still hovering -- Dorian followed after Aaren towards the cozy looking home. But oh how was he pleased with that ever so cute and submissive-like question the vampire ask… Guessing he surely hadn’t forgotten about manners. Getting himself next to him, Dorian said: “You assumed right” bearing the same smile. “though if it is warmth that you seek…I know a good way I could warm you up nice and quick.” He chuckled low, keeping his hands to himself for now and made his way inside first, letting Aaren follow after him. Turning to the man once he had closed the door behind them, Dorian set his arm towards him, palm facing up, just waiting for the other male to give him his cloak. “Welcome home, Aaren.”; said he, the words sounding heavy with meaning, though it was a real welcome and not just some causality. Otherwise he wouldn't have bothered saying.

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

Aaren partially ignored the comment about his "snow angel", only responding with a low grumble of, "I'll keep that in mind next time.." If Dorian had seen his face at the time he said it, he'd have seen the younger vampire's expression growing irritated rather quickly.
Despite the boots keeping the snow out, Aaren's toes were beginning to freeze. It was times like these when he wished he could have gained some abilities, himself, by now. He was not new to this life, but had not yet gained all of the abilities his "master" had. That was one thing he was admittedly jealous of.

Although eager to get through the door, Aaren stayed back at first. That comment of Dorian's had shocked him, but at the same time, it didn't. This was typical Dorian.. He just never knew exactly how to respond to these things, except to either ignore him, or push the words away. "I do not need warmth from you. A fireplace will do just fine, thank you," he said with a frown and a turn of his head. Walking in behind the other, he was already feeling the warmth envelope him. It had distracted him enough, in fact, that he was almost startled to see Dorian looking at him, an arm stretched toward him. He stared at the hand before him for what might have seemed like a long time, confused. Did.. Did Dorian want him to take his hand? Was this still an offer to "warm each other up"? He almost blushed at the persistence, until he realized what Dorian was really doing. Shaking the previous thoughts from his head as soon as possible, Aaren quickly pulled off his cloak and halfheartedly draped it over the other's arm. All that he had for his belongings was a single-strapped bag that went over his shoulder. Not a large bag, but it seemed big enough to carry what he needed. Clothes and such, at least.

Aaren then passed Dorian so he could get closer to the fire, but stopped when he heard those two special words. Turning to see his "master's" face, he was surprised not to see the vampire's usual, teasing expression, but.. Well, it was welcoming. Truly welcoming.
The young vampire felt his body freeze for only a second.. before he felt the stress that had put such a heavy weight on his shoulders, being lifted.
Even after all of this time, it seemed.. Dorian was not angry with Aaren for leaving, nor was he making Aaren feel foolish for coming back after all this time. In fact, he had not hesitated at all to welcome him "home", allowing the vampire to stay with him once again.

If this were anyone else, Aaren might have even started to cry. However, this was Dorian he was with, and he would not let himself show such a weakness in front of that man. So, before he could let even a small quiver of his expression slip, he spun his head the other way and walked toward the fireplace. "Home, eh?" he said, quietly, as to make sure the sound of his happiness didn't leak through. "I guess I can stay here again.. You must have been miserable without me here. Who else would prepare your meals and keep the place tidy?" He stopped near the fireplace for a moment, taking in it's warmth, before sitting quietly in the nearest seat. His bag was set beside him. "I'll stay, as long as you promise to behave."

He sat quietly for a long moment, just staring down into his lap. It wasn't just the fire now, he realized, that was giving him this warmth. It was the memory of living in this place.. With Dorian, of course. He may have hated the man--or believed to, anyway--but there was something about him that just made this place feel like home.
Although, physically, he was still quite cold.. That could easily be blamed on his wet clothes. Looking down at his bag, he got up almost as fast as he'd sat down. "I suppose I'm to sleep in my old room.. Yes?" He picked his bag up, adjusting his glasses a bit. "I'm going to change.. A shower beforehand would be nice, too. So, if you need me, you know where I'll be." He paused. "You will behave, wont you?" By the unamused look on his face, it should have been obvious that he meant for Dorian to resist "visiting" him while changing or showering. It seemed just something the man would do, after all.

While turning to find his room, bag on his shoulder again, he called back, casual as ever, "I don't want to be a bother, but would it be any trouble to ask for something to drink?" By that, he meant blood, of course. "For when I'm finished, I mean." Then, he added with a mutter, "It's really been a while since I've had a decent drink.."

Dorian wasn’t surprised when his…generous and appealing offer was turned down by Aaren. As if a fireplace could actually compete corporal warming… The vampire ‘hmphed’ at that.
Once both inside, Dorian kept an eye on Aaren, glad to notice that the coziness of the place was doing him some good. For how long had he been out there, in that storm? he wondered. He also noted how the male almost startled realizing the eldest was looking at him and that he had his hand up for him, which had Dorian smile from the inside. Only then did he notice how…confusing his gesture might’ve appeared to be for the blonde, since the man was staring at it. His thoughts had become obvious… Getting a cloak instead of a hand though was understandable, but Dorian still had ended wondering what the other’s choice would be. The slight disappointment hadn’t been enough to keep the eldest from welcoming the other truly, though. Plus, Aaren’s reaction at that was worth the sincerity…his freezing on the spot and looking at him…quite priceless in fact. It was a tad sad though, how the younger one seemed so relieved with Dorian actually letting him come back so easily. Perhaps wasn’t he aware of how badly the eldest had missed him… Would he even be willing to hear it..? With all this pushing away, he doubted it… Well, that appeared to only be clearer with how Aaren turned away. The way he spoke then, too. Miserable without him…huh?…and what about the other way around? Guessing life hadn’t been that merciful with him, since he was here now…

Watching how the blonde took seat near the fire, Dorian almost was tempted to join him, once he had disposed of the cloak, but what Aaren had said next – about his needing to behave for he to stay – well he stayed on the spot, pouting slightly. That wasn’t fair…it was just like having a dog sit in one corner and putting a bone in the other, telling it to stay nice and Not go after the treat. How cruel…
“If I promise to behave hmm…” Then, he took an…unconcerned? expression, as if he didn’t recognize himself in such a description. “I have no idea what you are talking about…my behavior is flawless.” He really seemed to be thinking what he just had said, but of course deep inside he knew that that wasn’t quite right. Though, Aaren had seemed too lost in his mind (memories?) to hear that…and that leaded the dark haired vampire to get lost into his own, for a moment. That was until Aaren got up, asking about his old room. “Hm? …Oh, that room… No I gave it another use…” He paused a second. “Of course it is the same as when you left…” Of course it was… He wouldn’t have moved even a mere curtain in there ever since Aaren left, even for all the best blood in the world. He religiously left it intact…as the blonde would come back…yes…? Well, he had…so…
Lost in his thoughts, Dorian just ‘mhm’ed at Aaren saying how he would go change, after a shower that is, and that the dark haired one had to behave.
Pff…as if.

Already planning on what he would be doing next, Dorian did note about the drink Aaren asked. Sure, that could be done.
Letting the blonde go, the vampire went over to his ‘personal’ best blood hideout. Taking a champagne-like glass, pouring in some of his best blood, Dorian seemed…absent. Was he actually not yet realizing that Aaren was really here…? Eventually hearing the water flow in the bathroom, he snapped out of it, taking the cup up to his mouth but only smelled the perfect essence of it, as If it was some kind of wine. Putting the blood recipient back into place, Dorian then walked over to the bathroom door, lightly pushing it open. Aaren must’ve been too obsessed with the cold to either close it completely or even lock it. Stepping in, letting the glass down next to the sink, the dark haired male started undressing himself, there again seeming somewhat absent. Soon getting himself inside the warm shower, with the blonde, Dorian came and took Aaren against himself with the male’s back to his chest. “Just…give me a moment to truly realize that you are back…okay…?” It was probably surprising, how the eldest vampire seemed…lost? It wasn’t like him. Thing was; Aaren had appeared so…out-of-the-blue. It didn’t seem real. And, it’s not like the…reunion had been grandiose, with how Aaren acted towards him.

Aaren

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

Before leaving for the shower, Aaren had to wonder what "other use" his old room had been given. He'd worry more about that later, though. At that moment, all he wanted was a nice, warm shower, and some comfortable, dry clothes.
Having asked for a drink, he expected Dorian to just leave it outside of the bathroom, or to have it poured and ready by the fireplace. He did request Dorian to behave, after all, but.. What made him think the vampire would actually do so? Obviously, the long travel had affected his common sense.

When Aaren had finished speaking with Dorian for the time being, he soon found himself in the bathroom, practically throwing his cold clothes to the floor, and getting under the hot water as quickly as possible. As soon as he felt the warmth on his skin, the long trip seemed almost worth it.
What happened next, though--before Dorian had even gotten there--was both odd and unexpected, even for Aaren, himself. One moment, he was happy and relieved to get a warm shower like this. However, his mind began to wander, as it often does. Naturally, it wandered toward Dorian; How long it had been.. Having had to try to keep his emotions in check just now.. The realization that he really couldn't live happily without the vampire. Most of all, though, how much he actually missed that man. That realization hit him like a ton of bricks.
Aaren's head hung low, and he sniffled once.. And suddenly, he just broke. Tears streamed down his cheeks, blending well with the water falling over his head. His shoulders shook with silent sobs. He knew how ridiculous he looked, and was just glad he was alone.. But everything that had gone wrong, that had fallen apart in the past few years, it was a heavy weight that was suddenly lifted from his shoulders... Just from seeing that b*****d's face, hearing his voice!

Aaren gasped as he felt arms wrap tenderly around him. Quickly washing his face of the tears, he said, "I.. I told you to behave.. Idiot." He didn't sound as angry as he normally would have. He didn't look back at Dorian. If he did, the other man would have seen the prominent blush on Aaren's face. His heart was beating a mile a minute at the thought of exactly what was behind him, pressed against him.
Believe it or not, if they weren't both in such an.. inappropriate position--a naked chest against the other's just-as-naked back--he may have even turned around to hug the other (which was rare in itself). So, instead, he just muttered a little, "It's.. nice to be back home.. "sir".."

Dorian -- lost in his thoughts the way he was and as fast as he had entered the shower to take a hold of Aaren -- hadn’t had the occasion to notice the intermittent shake of the blonde’ shoulders. In need of feeling the male against him, to know he was really there, Dorian didn’t mind the ‘naked’ part of the scene. Though of course, if he was to focus on that now, that just might as well give him some ‘inappropriate’ ideas. …Inappropriate…really, it was; for the time being, for the…location and feeling-wise.

“Well I am behaving…the best I can, anyway… I am not trying anything much suspicious at the moment now, am I…?” he spoke low and calm, practically whispering to Aaren’s ear. Keeping his arms around him, Dorian knew this was the longest he had ever been allowed to hold the other.
He did get the small muttering from the blonde; words to which he would normally have smiled to, but for some reason at this particular moment he didn’t quite feel like smiling. He just wanted to take in the other’s presence. He needed that, to understand he was back…it had been so long ago since they last saw; thought he. Which way to act towards him was almost a question now, instead of being his usual self like he had been back then. Perhaps was he afraid to lose him again somehow... “It is…nice to have you back…” At that, Dorian slightly left his head to rest against Aaren’s and he then said, underneath his breath, in a barely perceptible manner: “You came back…” There was something so…surprisingly comforting in these simple words, for Dorian, anyway, that the dark haired vampire closed his eyes and half consciously started to have his hold loosen, his hands soon – slowly – starting to feel the blonde’s body, passing his hands on his torso and sides, sliding his fingers on the little water stream flowing on the bare skin. Dorian probably even had a low ‘hmm’ sound escape from his throat at some point, as he – half consciously still there – kept caressing the other’s body.

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

Aaren laughed half-heartedly. It was true. Dorian hadn't actually been trying anything at the moment.. He seemed to just be looking for some kind of comfort. Glancing back, he said, softly, "You better not get used to this.. I mean, getting to hold me like this.. And under the shower of all places.." His voice almost quivered at the last part.
It was so unusual to see Dorian like this.. To hear him speak in such ways.. Aaren almost didn't know what to say. So he didn't say anything for a while. He just closed his eyes and lifted his chin, his face toward the ceiling now as water hit his face.

Though, when feeling the slight tickle of Dorian's fingers running along his skin, Aaren shuddered. He didn't say anything for a moment, just trying to ignore it.. But it was getting difficult to brush off the feeling he was getting. Just a touch from Dorian, and his heart was--...
Aaren spun around and grabbed both of Dorian's arms, keeping them at his sides. His face was a scowl for a moment or two.. Then he smiled very slightly. "Quit it." he told him. "This is odd.. You're acting odd. I'm starting to wonder if you're really Dorian." He chuckled, teasing a bit. Meanwhile, he kept his eyes glued to Dorian's, worried that if he accidentally glanced down for even a second, his glowing red face would show too much.

Dorian had just let it go, the comment of Aaren saying how the two of them weren’t meant to be so close to each other and to not get used to it, holding him like this, especially not in…’wrong’ places, such as in this shower, with the both of them naked. It’s like if he hadn’t wanted to hear it; so he just somewhat ignored it. It seemed though it wasn’t the time to mention how it was actually pleasing to him, holding Aaren against him like this… Next thing he knew; the blonde here moved swiftly, grabbed his arms and held them to his side. Opening his eyes slowly, Dorian had noted the scowl, then the slight smile up the other’s face. Quit it…? As if wondering what exactly the other wanted him to quit… Oh… now he’d ‘snapped out of it’, realizing how he really had been stroking Aaren’s body just now… He’d thought that had been his imagination playing tricks on him all along… Well, now he could understand where Aaren’s reaction was coming from. It was…somewhat of a bummer, though.
“Odd, you say? …Would it really be so inconceivable for you to have me touching your body, Aaren?” Asked he, bluntly with an expression-less face. Well…maybe he had an expression, but it was hard to tell how exactly he was feeling at that moment…not that Aaren would necessarily care; probably was he too embarrassed by the situation.
Well, Dorian wasn’t playing…perhaps that was what the blonde was finding so odd, coming from him… He thus sighed from the inside, thinking; But he's right…what is wrong with me…? I can recall how having him around and teasing him used to suffice me, back then… Seemed like it wouldn’t suffice this time…and not to mention; he had a feeling he wouldn’t last long, being constantly turned down each time… One day or another, would he be willing to deal with it or not, Aaren would have to admit the undeniable truth; their destiny was bond to one another.

Aaren

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

Aaren should have been glad to see Dorian returning to his old self. Yet, he wasn't. It was that comment of Dorian's, of course. Even though it was such a typical thing for the other to say, Aaren still found himself surprised when hearing it. He quickly let go of the man's arms and stepped out of the shower. "What's inconcievable is the fact that I would actually have let you in the shower. Honestly, I don't know what was wrong with me to think you could keep your hands to yourself."
While he quietly vented to himself, he moved quickly to wrap a towel around his waist, picking up his clothes so he could dress. Soon, his venting became mumbled, only bits and pieces being heard. Like; "I don't know whether to call you a child, or a pervert." and "How anyone could live with you would be a mystery."
With his clothes in hand, he walked out of the bathroom, into the bedroom so he could dress without Dorian staring at him. While doing so, his grumbles could still be heard, but his words were no longer understandable. Finally, while buttoning the pants he had just put on, he called, "I don't suppose I could have that drink now, Dorian?"

Naturally, if anyone had really asked, Aaren would immediately deny feeling any sort of special bond or having any feelings toward the man. However, after having been gone for so long, only to come back to something like this, it was getting more and more difficult to deny it anymore.. Although he even denied this to himself--even now--there was no doubt of the feelings that were definitely there.

Aaren letting go of his arms and getting out of the shower had to be expected. How else would the blonde have reacted? A sigh slipped past Dorian’s lips as he heard the male venting. He didn’t care whether his words were as sharp as knives, did he? The eldest closed his eyes at that, shutting his emotions off while welcoming the hot water dripping onto his face. He still heard Aaren’s words when he could, though he didn’t let them affect him. Knowing for a fact that the blonde had left the bathroom, as his grumbles were understandable no more, Dorian undid his braid and washed himself off at a normal pace.

The dark haired vampire had heard the other’s question, about the drink, though had rather finish showering before answering. What was the point into shouting out that the cup was simply by the bathroom’s sink? There was none…not any reason worthwhile to him, anyway…and, he simply didn’t feel like talking, either. Turning the water off, Dorian let the drops drip from his hair and body a moment before stepping out and starting to dry himself with a towel. He finally wrapped it around his waist, having it hold there, and picked up the cup of blood lying by the sink while walking out of the bathroom. He made it over to Aaren and handed him the glass casually…if the blonde hadn’t taken a hold of it, well the blood, along with its container, had just scattered across the floor. Dorian hadn’t even granted the male a single glance, vaguely giving him the cup with what appeared to being a blank expression up his face…though one who knew him well could tell it hid something. The vampire then turned on his heels and walked off, heading to his own room. There, he would change into something more decent.

Fully dressed, Dorian came out of his room and went to sit before the fireplace with a comb at hand, without a word. He sat with his back straight, staring blankly into the dancing fire as he combed his hair lightly. Only after that would he be braiding them again. In his mind…well he didn’t quite know what to think about. There was something he was doing though, and it was acting as if Aaren hadn’t come home that night. Perhaps, if he was to give him no attention at all, even the slightest, would the blonde reconsider those words of his Dorian hadn’t been willing to hear…those words, said and unsaid, that would still be biting into his flesh if he hadn’t sent his feelings away.

Aaren

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you

Aaren was starting to grow suspicious at the long silence. Surely, if this were a normal day, Dorian would have said something by now, right? Yet, the place had grown silent as soon as the young vampire's ranting had ended.
Staring at the bathroom door, Aaren sort of multitasked as he slowly buttoned his black dress shirt, while also keeping a close eye toward the bathroom, listening for any response.

Finally, Dorian emerged with the glass in hand. Aaren sighed and held out his own. "Thank you," he started to say, "but an actual answer would have been more appreciated." When he went to take the glass from Dorian, he was almost startled when it nearly fell between the two male's hands, having been handed to the younger one so carelessly.
After Aaren made sure he had a grip on the drink, he scowled at the other. "Dorian, please, careful! That could have made an awful--" His sentence was cut off when he caught a look at Dorian's face. Something was wrong.. He'd been with the man long enough to know he was not acting himself.
It didn't take much to figure out what caused it, either.

When Aaren finished dressing (with all but his vest, the red ribbon for his hair, those black gloves of his, and his shoes) he followed Dorian over to the fireplace. In the meantime, he forced himself not to focus on the blood just yet. However, he couldn't seem to put it down, either.
Aaren stood behind Dorian at a distance for quite some time, just watching him comb that long hair. Finally, he walked over, standing in between the man and the fireplace. "I'm sorry, alright?" he said, a bit stubbornly. There was a pause, then a sigh. "Really.. I'm sorry.." He looked the other in the eyes now. "I wasn't being fair.. That much is obvious. I'd lecture you because you're not being yourself, and then when you are yourself, I snap at you for that, too.."

Aaren knelt down in front of the chair his "master" sat in. Even if Dorian refused to look him in the eyes, he would look into Dorian's while he spoke. It was the respectful thing to do, anyway.. "I know I come off sounding like I hate the "real you"--that cocky, sarcastic, teasing jack--" He cleared his throat before he got carried away. "But just because it irritates me sometimes, that doesn't mean I hate it.. Or hate you, either.. The way you're acting right now, I don't like it. This isn't my Dor--ah, what I mean is.. This isn't.. the Dorian I remember."

Aaren went silent for a moment. Even he would have had to admit that this position--Aaren kneeling by this man's feet--was all too much like the "master, servant" situation. Surely Dorian would get a kick out of it, he thought..
That's right.. Maybe he could cheer Dorian up that way. As much as he hated to admit it, he preferred the teasing man he usually is more than the silent statue he was now. Maybe he could do something to get that guy back to his old self..
With that same wine glass still in one hand, Aaren used his free hand to take one of Dorian's. He took a breath, and then started to speak. "I.. very much dis.. dislike--ahem.. seeing my.. master like this.." Aaren was trying his best not to let his voice quiver, with not much success. He couldn't remember the last time he seriously called Dorian his master, if ever. With his heart beating out of his chest--he hated it for doing so--he planted a soft kiss on the pale hand that he held. He didn't dare look into those dark eyes now.

Seated before the fireplace, combing his hair lightly and watching the warm flames dancing in the fireplace, Dorian was still detached from whatever else could be going on around him. At one point, he could feel a presence behind him, but he paid it no attention… As for when that same presence moved, it now standing in-between he and the fire, the dark-haired vampire simply closed his eyes, still ignoring Aaren. Hearing words, Dorian wasn’t much convinced with them…it would take him quite more to decide granting the blonde his full attention again; mere excuses weren’t enough. Words are words, and actions are actions…yet, the eldest still slightly opened his eyes, looking into nothingness while listening some more to the other male. Well…at least he’d realized he hadn’t been quite fair. So much for noting that…but, seeing Aaren kneel down before him, Dorian had almost been lifting a brow at that. His eyes not so cold anymore, he still reverted into watching the flames, though the blonde was still in his vision. Well, he sure listened as the younger vampire went on, curious to hear what he had to add, though not exactly impressed at first with the description he got enumerated about his ‘real self’, but the following was…interesting. Sure thing, since it came off as an ‘I don’t hate you and I can’t stand the way you’re acting now; I need your attention’ and well…that almost had Dorian smile. Yet, he was still acting as if imperturbable…though, without his even realizing it, he had stopped combing his hair; Aaren had poked his curiosity enough, it seemed.

He didn’t mind the silence. One thing the dark-haired vampire hadn’t seen coming though was how the blonde then took a hold of his now free hand. Bringing his eyes down on their hands, yet not daring to move, Dorian was…surprised -- being the least we could say -- with Aaren’s words. Along with being glad, the eldest of the two sure got a kick with the whole scene there; having his dear blonde knelt near him, holding his hand and planting a soft kiss on his pale skin. Unleashing his feelings again; Dorian didn’t want to miss the overflow of feelings he got from this moment. A smile having drawn on his lips, the dark-haired vampire looked down at Aaren practically tenderly, having turned his face towards the male there, pleased with the feeling of those soft lips on his hand, definitely wishing they’d be planted on his own right now to be able to feel them perfectly. He was pleased indeed…and he wasn’t going to laugh at Aaren after his having done such an effort into getting him out of that statue state. It was almost annoying though, how the blonde had managed to get forgiven so quickly…but Dorian was too pleased to make a fuss out of that. Though oh! how he wanted to get closer to the younger male now……pretty much doubting Aaren would let him make a move on him sadly enough; yet he couldn’t resist. Aaren… and he let go of the comb, bringing that hand to the blonde’s cheek, stroking it tenderly and he slipped his fingers under the younger one’s chin, having the man look up, taking his other pale hand away, as the 'master' bent down and soon enough planted his own lips against those of his beloved vampire.
The tender contact made, Dorian actually held his breath, closed his eyes and slowly started to motion his lips, kissing the blonde smoothly, even a slight flush coloring his own cheeks with how pleased he was with the softness of those lips he’d longed for for so long.
