Recently, the Japanese market where I worked at started to get this bit of an action dorama. First heard about it in an article (called LaLaLa), and found out that Katori Shingo (aka, the main guy in that Freshman clip) was playing Son Goku.
Well, a site called 'Jdorama.com' had given out a little more details into who the cast members were. Plus, my little sister's Duet magazine too.
Anyways, this action-dorama is based on the Chinese legend itself. It tells for four people (well, 3 demons and 1 priest) who are journeying to the West. The 3 Demons are: Sha Gojyo, a Kappa, Cho Hakkai, a pig demon, and of course, Son Goku the Monkey God. The priest (played by a female, because the original legen was a female priest) is Sanzo-hoshi (or, Genjo Sanzo razz ) Of course, there are those other evil demons that are chasing after them...mainly to snack on Sanzo, due to the belief that they'll be invincible (or something...forgot what it was... ><; ) if they devour her. Of course, 3 strong demons on hand as allies shouldn't be much of a problem.
I watched the first episode, and...after chukling a bit at seeing Kimura Takuya (aka, Pretty Boy of Howl's Moving Castle) for 10 minutes, it took off from there.
My thoughts? I like the fight scenes, and how Sha Gojyo fights just kicks a**. Shingo is pretty funny as Son Goku (man, his blonde hair came in handy XD ). Plus, the actor (that was in a dorama called 'Densha Otoko' trans. 'Train Man' he played an 'Otaku') for Cho Hakkai was pretty good, despite his previous role, as mentioned.
Though, the costumes (except for Goku and Sanzo) were a bit bright and seemed out of place, but it's a kind of nostalgia. Because the Saiyuki dorama was made in the past (in the 1970s about).
Wanted to see the second ep, but...had to go to bed ><;
I actually love this! And, I can't wait to see more. Is this dorama avaliable to download raw throughout the net, or not avaliable?
