I don't want you to see my reflection.
I don't need your advice on who I should be.
I want you to see my beauty.
I want you to see me.

Sometimes I cry, scream, yell, punch, hit, and smile.
I have varying moods; who doesn't?
If you honestly think I'm too moody,
What the hell are you still doing here?

I have depression; so what?
People have their problems.
I just want someone to love me for who I am,
and I want someone to see me as an individual, not a girl who's too fat.

I want someone to see me as a girl who is trying to be herself again.
Not someone who's trying to hard to fit in with others.
I want to be with a group of friends who want to hang out with me.
Not me having to beg to see them or hang out with them.

Some people wonder why I'm so sad all the time.
If you take a look at my life, you'll see why I'm affected by it so.

Have you ever stopped and looked at the outsiders in school?
Those people who maybe feel lost, alone, and scared?
Have you ever thought that was me, alone, lost, and scared?
I may seem different, but on the inside, I'm screaming to be let out.

Please don't take pity on me because I'm sad.
Be with me as a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, sister, best friend.
Something to show me that I'll be okay in this world.
I want someone to love me for me.

I'll bet you don't even know that half the kids like me are thinking of suicide.
Why, must you ask, do we think this?
How about the fact that we are abused, teased, and neglected?
Or maybe we just want to be seen for who we are, and nobody will step out of their box.

If you don't see me, I'll never be able to reach beyond my boundaries.
If you don't see me, my mind will assume something's wrong with me.
If you don't see me, my heart will stop beating happily.
If you don't see me, I just might end up dying.
