Unknowingly, Valdemar is once again in dangers from creatures outside of its borders. Threats from the far north have risen up in order to conquer their southern neighbour, but things are not always as they appear, and reasons are always more complicated than just Good and Evil. How will Valdemars Defenders react when those who would do harm are unexpected?
Winter's Vengeance takes place about 200 years after the Owl's trilogy. Valdemar hasn't changed much; it's relationship with Karse has improved a little bit; Iftel's shield-border has started to weaken a little, and people have started to come out, but they remain as secretive as ever. Hardorn has done well in healing itself, and has become a good ally of Valdemar, along with Rethwellan. K'Valdemar is a bustling Vale, and relations with other Hawkbrother Vales has improved a lot over the years.
