A collab poem written by Meari-the-Dark and I...
We switched between stanzas - the first one is me, the second Meari, next is me again... and so on.
We both agree that it needs a better title, but neither of us can think of anything yet.
One Word
You were gazing at the deep blue sky
I couldn't help but wonder why
But now I'm looking at it too
Turns out I'm just like you.
But now I'm looking at it too,
Why is that? Now answer true
The sea is bluer than the sky
Why be a fish when you can fly?
I wonder where my voice has gone
Though flying fish would sing a song
'The sea is bluer than the sky'
Why is that? I wonder why.
I wonder if the moon will shine
and sing about the end of time,
Why is that? I hear the song
I wonder where my voice has gone.
If only I could speak to you
I'd tell you why and tell it true.
I wonder if the moon will shine,
and tell us how to bide our time.
The stars that twinkle in the sky
are souls of dead from times gone by
If only I could speak to you
No-one listens as you do.
Comets blaze across the night
Still there unseen come morning light
The stars that twinkle in the sky
Gaze jealously as they go by
I close my eyes, when comets fly
I'd leave this world, take to the sky
Deep into the endless night
Still there unseen come morning light
I'd leave this world, take to the sky
And fly away with stars that sigh.
Oh, only you my darling girl
Could bring me back, with just a word
Flowers whisper in the breeze,
I hear the roaring of the seas.
Your song soars higher than the bird
and brings me back, with just a word
