Just in today: 1,000+ bodies were found on the coast of Japan. A 6.2 quake has hit today (Monday 14, 2011) followed by a new Tsunami. Ships were found miles inland and one-third of Fukushima was flooded. The city had an estimated amount of 30k+ people and thousands are missing! (Oh no Mika! I hop you're okay!!!). According to a broadcaster, some 430k+ of people are in emergency shelters and meanwhile another 24k+ are stranded. The impact of the earthquake and tsunami on the world's third-largest economy helped drag down the share markets Monday (3.14.2011). The benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average fell 6.2 percent while the broader Topix index lost 7.5 percent. To lessen the damage, Japan's central bank injected $184 billion into money markets. Monday is the first day since the business disasters truly started. Initial estimates put repair costs in the tens of billions of dollars, costs that would likely add to a massive public debt that, at 200 percent of gross domestic product, is the biggest among industrialized nations.
Notice of the nuclear meltdown: They have 3 units to their toxic factory. 1 & 3 are apparently stabilized for the time being but 2 causes the most worry among the 3.
Old News: There was an estimate 10,000 amount of deaths! The Ring Of Fire has been extremely active since early Friday morning!

OMG... we were talking about it in class today... we even made an announcement about it and how several of the students in my school were in Japan when it happened, and those going to Japan to check on their families their... it was so depressing. we voted for a full 5 minutes of quiet to pray for the families.. Oh god, i still feel so bad that this happened to them... especially since many of my friends and their families are there.

Meiko Sakine 6118 OMG... we were talking about it in class today... we even made an announcement about it and how several of the students in my school were in Japan when it happened, and those going to Japan to check on their families their... it was so depressing. we voted for a full 5 minutes of quiet to pray for the families.. Oh god, i still feel so bad that this happened to them... especially since many of my friends and their families are there. After all, we can't do much for them ourselves.^^; It's quite saddening isn't it, how we all are just.. you know, not able to help.

Oh god, i still feel so bad that this happened to them... especially since many of my friends and their families are there. After all, we can't do much for them ourselves.^^; It's quite saddening isn't it, how we all are just.. you know, not able to help. I know, my science teacher is planning to start a money/supplies/clothes drive in hopes of helping the homeless. its so sad because we hear about this every minute of the day now, but can't do anything to help because we are so far away...

We're playing a part in this too.

THE RING OF FIRE IS EXTREMELY ACTIVE?! Now I'M gonna have probs! I'm in South Cali sooo the San Andreas fault is only, like, MILES away and its part of the Ring of Fire! eek
Srry if tht sounded a little selfish. I truly am concerned about Japan too... crying

The I wonder how much the plates have moved, after this many continuous earth quakes..

I started this funraiser at our school since i'm in student coucil and we've already funraised $100 on the first day!!!!!!!!!! Isn't that great?!!!! Now i finally feel like there are others out there that cares just like us!!!!!!! And with this $100 we can buy so much food or other supplies for the people in japan!!!!!!

I truly am concerned about Japan too... crying Well, be cautious and know that if problems start spreading around the world you'll have to keep precautions. :\ Hm.. don't fret though.
