This is the spot for out-of-character (O.O.C.) Questions and Answers. Obviously this RP is very new and your input is welcome. To reiterate, at this point no planet is a member of any organization. The Adamantine Accord is our joint effort to form a Federation of Planets, each with it's own countries, government, histories etc...
Once we have 10 planets we will start proposing and debating issues to go into the constitution, we will have votes etc. Some of the early issues will be
a. what to call ourselves
b. do we have a "head of state", president, PM, etc...
c. do we have a capitol planet
d. issues you propose
Talon IV has expressed a desire to provide defense for the Galaxy etc...
After a constitution is drafted then each planet will get to decide if they want to be a member There will still be interplanetary conflict, war, treaties, prizes etc...
However, if you decide not to join the new "union", there will be many parts of the RP not open to you, you will have no vote, nor ability to propose resolutions, nor be able benefit from trade agreements unless other members vote to allow open trade.
That is why it is to your benefit to get involved in the shaping of the government as well as the RP
As creator of the RP, I would also like to play and take part as much as each of you. That is why I have engineered it so that my character can not be president (leader, whatever), nor can my planet be the capitol.

Dice and The Point System
We are developing a planetary point system where you have different points for different charactersitics'
i.e. Defense 10, Science5, Attack7
your planet can decide to assassinate the leader, based on your attack points you will roll certain dice, the player attacked will roll dice based on their defense, and the outcome is in the hands of fate.
If you have a character (ambassador) who gets killed your planet and it's history still exist, you just choose/elect a new ambassador from your population.

How to post a picIf you are an artist, you are the best and we worship you. However, most of us don't have that talent and need to find the best images from the web. There are many sources for great space pics. One way is to either google or yahoo your favorite Sci-fi movie, and make sure you choose the image option. Star Trek and Star Wars sights like these are great resources http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Main_Pagehttp://www.mavarts.com/starwars.htmto put a picture in your post, simply right click over one you like and select "copy image location" then in the menu above select IMG, and then past the location in the field. make sure "http" does not end up there twice. You can not simply post a pic in your hard drive. it must be hosted on the internet. A free sight that hosts pics is www.flickr.com but you can only do 20 a month. I have never used more, but maybe some users can list other sites. Advanced users can event tell you how to take screen grabs from your favorite DVD's, but this should help beginners. Extremely large pictures will be deleted.

RP suggestion:
It looks better when things are about to happen, allowing other to response to your actions.
Also, for better results wait until another person replies, this goes for conversations, battles or any other type of interaction.
Now when battles are conserned, dont god-mod. this is, be realistic.
You can only have a certain ammount of energy and your character does get hit or tired. You're not all-powerfull.
And in battles be specific about what you are doing. It could get confussing for other if they dont know what it is that you are doing.
And my last suggestion for the moment:
*The dark haired lady sitting on the bar took a long puff from her cigar, letting the smoke out with a gentle blow, she gestured the bartender over*
"Hello Dave, I'll have the usual and maybe some gossip on the side"-She winked playfully at the old man, before taking another puff from her cigar.
See how I used different types of writting for actions and talking?
You can use italics or the * * thingy, but color also helps, now for some it might be easier to just make different parraraphs out of that:
*action*
Talking
*action*
type of rp-ing style. its your choice.

Then again, you could always use the old "dialogue"-action style...
Also, since there are a few of us artists here, maybe we could have some sort of trade system for images. I don't know if anyone would be into figuring that out (people might prefer using Google), but it's an idea.

I don't have the first idea where or how to start and would appreciate any suggestions.

It was moved to the subforum just for planetary thread. all planetary RP's will be there so neither room will be cluttered. This subforum will be just for council business. Sorry, if I did not announce that correctly

Erm...thing is, my planet kind of relies on money for its power. It doesn't have much military (unless it chooses to hire some for a particular purpose), how would things such as mercanaries work? Surely professionals who have trained elsewhere besides Mortus would have a better attack than Mortus itself. Maybe we could increase stats with money?

that is not active yet, don't pay attention to that, just keep it in mind for the future. the point system will be similar to creating a d&d character. right now we are going to work on creating our planets as well as forming a charter govt.
