Qualms have been brought to the surface lately regarding some discrepancies between rp'ers of different skill.
To smooth out these kinks, a Casual rp-subforum is in the making.
The plan is:
-To leave (The Big Top-RP) Subforum as a place of literate/active role play. -To create a new casual role play for less active or literate members to participate in freely.
However, I need help with what is wanted in the casual rp.
Do you want the same thread-format? Being, CDN, CDG and towns/forests.
SHOULD we have duplicate roles for each casual and serious rp cast? Eg- A 'casual' puppetmaster and a 'serious' puppetmaster, for each role play respectively.
*This will require a near-whole cast rehaul*
Please comment and discuss so we can get this underway, and start rping at full steam ^^

I think reassessing the cast wouldn't be too much a problem. It'll probably be just the staff going through and approving profiles and such. (And as I stated before, I REALLY need to redo mine.) This way, even if you don't get approved for the lit roleplay, then you can still go back and improve your profile until you can be accepted. A sample post would also probably be necessary. Or it'd help.
The the thread format seems fine. Though I'm not sure about the roles. One of the problems is that we had too many of one sort of person in each circus. Like..there were a lot of magicians and puppet masters from what I saw.

I'm not sure on the answers because we haven't decide on whether the two subforums will follow the same plot line or not. If they'll follow the same plot line, then it's a "yes" to both questions. If not, it'll depend on what plot line the Casual chooses itself to play with. I would like it to be a "yes" myself, but again, I think it's up to those who wants to rp in Casual.
What Sil said is true... We have like, Dark, Senior, Jr, and Apprentice toward Magician and Puppet Masters. One way to fix this is to have them choose profession that utilizes similar/same "abilities" like how I have my OC (the audience only sees him as an Illusionist, when he actually is a magician), or a fire-breather (uses fire magic to take on the role of fire-breather), or medic (uses healing magic to heal).

I agree with Sil and Yen. However, I would like to say that at the same time, there are lesser roles that need to be considered, too, which may make that problem even more confusing. But keeping certain roles generalized, for example a freakshow needs more than one person to be an actual freakshow, but the lesser freaks that aren't mains would just keep the "freak" title, that way it's not cluttering up the ranks and confusing anyone. Of course, on their profiles, they could specify what kind they are. But for the Magicians and Puppeteers, I agree, there's simply too many for a role that doesn't require that many main cast members.
I hope that didn't sound too confusing D:
