First off, I apologize to Miniture Crayon for what I said yesterday. If you're more comfortable to simple rp posts, I have no right to ask you to "try harder" (parenthesis to indicate how rude that sounds to me, which is very rude of me and I feel guilty for that). Alright, now that's out of the way...

I know everyone have their own way of rping in the forums/guilds. If one person writes a lot, and sees a lot of one-liners, they will feel as if their work is wasted, or, they feel as if they're pressuring their peers. If the one-liners were to see a lot of these heavy writing posts in the rp, they will feel intimidated/inadequate. Either one of these people will drop out of the rp, and I know something like that had happened before in this guild (grand opening event hosted by Gothique, anyone?)

Instead of sitting and waiting for the drama to unfold, or have the rp to suddenly die off (I read a thread in GCD, and they are pretty harsh with what they say if you're sensitive), why don't we have two separate subforums for rping? The Casual RP and In-depth RP. Casual is of course, for those who prefers one-liners to maybe 2 paragraphs at most. In-depth RP is for those who prefers 2 paragraphs and above.

We can continue discussing about potential plots for the main rp. The main rp will continue having whoever rpers are selected for it, but that doesn't mean we won't change the cast if needed be (activity-wise). This main rp will be used as a "reference" or "summary" for the two sub-forums to base their rp off from. The plot-line of this main rp will be flexible also, and hopefully, the two subforums won't stray too far away from it. This way, all that work we had since the start of the guild (for this specific rp) wouldn't be wasted.

It's not too bad if we start over, or continue with what we do have now since we're still getting started and we don't have much stuff to be moving around. I also understand that doing this would require reconstructing the OCs already in place, but I don't see why we shouldn't when we get new peoples added into the rp (as either Gothique or Noire crew, and hardly audience/neutral) every day.

Well, that's all I have to say. What do you guys think? -inb4 why should I bother-

-edits-
We're gonna have to have two Loyals and two Noire Ringmasters. We know that one Loyal and Noire is already taken (Loyal the Ringmaster and Silent Cartoon). We could have another Loyal out there, if there's anyone willing to play as him. For the second Noire Ringmaster, we can have him/her go by a different name and different backstory, but have similar interest/beliefs/etc. That way, we can add a bit of spice to the plot line, but not too much that it'd become two completely separate stories, and not have to worry too much on the clashes between two rpers of the same character(s).

I think this is a good idea, cause..I..I can't roleplay i here...its to lit for me...plus a bit fast since i get on at a weird time...

Good point. Totally forgot about rp's pace. :0

I would like to think everyone should consider about other people's real life and timezones. Activity is good, but please try to keep the pace reasonable enough so that these people won't fall too far behind. It would be odd for one group of people have their roleplay take place in daylight while the other people are in night time, both groups being in the same roleplay. xD

I am all kinds of for this idea. heart I would go ahead and implement this, but lets see what Conch says first.

I hope that Conch will consider this idea. I keep telling everyone that I don't have experience in roleplays much, but I at least know what people expect in a roleplay, big or small. I hang around in GCD too much to not know about it. xD

Yesssss. That way, there can easily be different criteria on character profiles that aren't considered too harsh or too lax.

And lol, yeah, you learn all sorts of things from the GCD. rofl

I think I'd have to ask for a "Lit" tutor, because when I started RPing just a year ago, I was under the impression that Lit covered everything from 1-4 readable and viable paragraphs. Now I've been seeing lately that you're only Lit if you do 3 plus. >.> But... at that point I think it would exacerbate the ever-annoying but largely unavoidable,

"Bob says X, says Y, goes off to Z."
"Charlie responds to X directly, throws in additional A dialogue, responds to Y, then reacts to Z."

Hm... All I need to know about people's OCs is what causes their OC to be the way he/she is. So, it pretty much means a back story supporting and explaining said OC's personality, belief/morality, association, and ability. The profile thread is a great place for people to go to as reference (when they need to know more about said characters during the rp). I find myself going back to it every now and then because I can't keep up with so many characters (so I tend to forget who's who, and what's what). xD

I believe "Lit" thing is more about your spelling, grammar, and writing skill (story flow, detail, creativity, etc), rather than sizes of one's paragraph/post (which is what people tend to see it as these days). Sadly, I think it would be easier for the guild and crew to organize itself around the latter rather than the prior. sweatdrop

That reminds me, it would be nice that no one in this guild goes off that extreme end of "lit" roleplay. I mean the part where you use one long paragraph just to explain your character's eyes in the middle of some conversation between two or more people. o_O;

Ah, I see how you're all feeling.

Note- Convergence (The main RP) was the intended thread for plot-driven and lit rp posts. Open to both alignments of the story.

Still, there is only one post in here so far! xD

Also- A casual sub forum would be great. Any specifications on sub-rps?
(Like CDN, CDG etc?)

I sorta figured Convergence was our main rp, haha. The reason I haven't participated in it is because I don't know what to do with my OC yet (the Noire's intro is soo dark/deep... OTL, I need to be more creative). I'm also holding out on it since we have yet to choose a suggestion for the main rp plot-line.

Sub-rps? As in, side rps that'll help develop our OCs more? Being able to rp the time when our OCs join CDG/CDN sounds nice. I like how some OCs have their own tents because the invited people are able to build a bond between their OCs (no set time, like the host party thread we have). The free-for-all rp threads should be useful, just in case there are those who wants to rp, but only temporary.

GAK! XD I'm sorry! I like being wordy and deep! So sue me! I just wanted to get the ball rolling, and I figured that'd be a good place to start. So the Noire people have something to do, be it performing or backstage, and the Gothique people can be scoping out their competition.

And its Sil. She does that. ninja

Hm.. I understand what you're saying. It's quite a common problem in any roleplay because of the various levels of writing skill. Though I have to ask something.
Would the people be allowed to choose which of the two sub-forums they wish to roleplay in?

I don't want to discriminate against the newer folks to roleplaying. I actually started off with one-liners that zinged that way and this without much direction. My characters were usually based off of mangas like Naruto. XD
To say simply, I was terrible. But I learned.

I got tips from more literate roleplayers while I was roleplaying with them. So personally, this split is rather disparaging to me.
Not to mention the fact that I consider myself to be in the middle between the one-liners and the literate folk, thus calling myself a 'semi-literate' sort.
But I feel bad for people like Silent and Jack because of their long and beautiful posts. However, I also feel bad for people like Crayon because they're just learning or starting... DX

Perhaps we can create a thread or something to give advice and perhaps even critiques to those who want them so they can improve, including one in the more casual one, where the more 'literate' folks can drop by and help out.

Personally, I don't believe paragraphs make 'literate' roleplayers. I've seen too many long posts that were written absolutely horrendously. Also, it's my style not to go that deep into what I sometimes would call 'frivolous' details.
I understand when it's to expand and explore the character a bit, but sometimes people write random stuff just to fill up posts. o.o;;

I agree.
I have seen posts that are far too self-indulgent for my tastes, but also ones that are very fleeting D:

But I agree, Everyone was a begginer at some point, and reading/rp-ing with advanced players helps.

Perhaps we go ahead with the casual sub, but invite advanced members to visit, drop a line in their rp or even post in a 'Training' thread within the casual sub-forum.

Thank you.

Oh, and Crayon has improved after Yen's little poke. She's writing at least three sentences, a basic paragraph now. :3

[[Lol.. I just realize I like saying the word 'personally'.]]

Silent: Oh no, I actually like how you started the CDN's intro thing. I just... feel intimidated? Blah, I blame my OC as well. xD

Card Master: Honestly, I am also inbetween the two ends of roleplay. The reason I chose "Casual" and "In-depth" as their names is because I don't want it to be based off of one's writing skill. I want it to be more on one's want to write something that's short, simple, and quick, or, something long, detailed, etc. This allows people to switch between the two subforums and interact with one another if they want to.

When it comes to what characters they play as (during the switch between subforums), they could choose to be some neutral character (not associated with CDG or CDN) or characters that aren't taken in whichever sub-forum yet. We can always change who plays which character (activity-wise, and stuff).
