Does anyone know what the yearbook does besides take pictures of school events and create the layout for the yearbook? If you are currently or have been in a yearbook committee please share your stories and experiences

Cause I want to join but I'm still not sure at the same time

I don't have any experience making a yearbook, but I have looked at a yearbook before.

If collecting and arranging photos of your classmates and various school events interests you, you should do it. I really don't think there's a whole lot more to it.

I've actually never been on yearbook before b/c it's only ever ran on days I've fenced. But I have looked into it and had friends in yearbook.
I think you're pretty good in your sum-up. They go around to school events, random fun stuff going on in classrooms, and also spend a lot of time after school and during the summer time arranging it. I'd say go for it, especially if photography interests you. Your yearbooks are something that people look back on to remember their old high schools, and it would be nice to be able to say you helped create it. Also, there was a scholarship I was looking for that asked for a person who's written work has been published before and one of the things they said was that it could be in a yearbook. Also that plus the school involvment that EVERY scholarship will ask for.......if you think it would be fun I would for sure say go for it!!!!! smile

two things
1) total props on the girl above me ((go bears))
2) yearbook can be a lot of work(trust me i was on my yearbook staff) but on the other hand it is very satisfying afterwords. there is a lot of work though desgining layouts getting good pictures having teachers work with you and so on and so forth
BUT IN THE END IT IS AWESOME TO BE IN YEARBOOK

You take the pictures of all of the events, decide which pictures will be used, and design the layout. It requires creativity and making sure you can work with groups easily. You may not have all that much freedom with what you can do, but I found it fun. lol
