Did everyone see the announcement on the release of the gift credit program?

At first I just thought, "Oh great another way to flood the site with gold and drive down prices on our beloved items" But on second thought, this may be a way for us adults to get an advantage over the kiddies. There are a ton of donation items handed out each month making them worth less than they used to be. With the gift credits you can make direct purchases from the stores and sell the items at market. There are still a few High priced items in the stores that people quest for. $1 at the Gaia Store gives you 2000 gift credits, for example if there is a item at the Durem Depot that is 20000 gold (or 20000 gift credits) that equals $10. This can be purchased and sold at market for 19500 or higher turning the gift credits into gold. Kids may be able to convince their parents to donate 5 or 10 dollars a month so they can get donation items but I don't think they are going to be allowed to shop at the Gaia store whenever they want, this is our advantage as adults. I realize that not everyone can lay down cash for these things, but it gives us the opportunity to if you do have some spare cash to spend for this "game".

So....what is your take on the Gift Credits, good thing, bad thing, don't really care?

I think, God I both know every now and then I am er, um incorrect, but I think the admins were attempting to take the power away from the ebay sales.

They are basically selling gold without selling gold. You get the credit, you buy something everyone likes, fairywings for example, then you undercut the market to make a fast profit. Yes the adults will finally have the advantage over the brats, er children of Gaia.

Unless you don't jump on the sales of the donation items or sealed envelopes, I always hang on to my envelopes, in hopes that it is some great item, then like with Jan items they drop to 4k. crying I feel robbed.Someone actually sold one of the swords last night for 3.3k. Their killing me. rolleyes

Yup, that instant gratification thing is true No_Grudges. It is better to hold onto them, but then some of us cheapskates (like me) who don't donate couldn't get any rofl

I mentioned the donation items always follow a schedule of sorts, where the days it is first released, it peaks, and then it falls. It'll go back up eventually. I'd seriously recommend selling the items on day 1 and then buying them back later. If you sent $5, you get two letters. That's 10 to 12K if you sell them as sealed envelopes. If you wait, they would have been 15 to 16K worth of gold when the swords came out.

If you sold them for 16 and waited, you could buy back the swords for 4.5 a week later and make 6 to 7K profit as well as having your two donation items. 3nodding Over time, they will go back up. The August letter went for 7.5 on day 1, and fell to 5 shortly after but slowly came back up and by late December, was around 8K again, and peaked at 9 in January.

I really would recommend selling the sealeds and then buying them back. That gives you short and long term investments. I know I'm a broken record on this but I sold my swords for 7.5 to 8.5, and I'm buying them back for 4 to 4.5 now.

The artificial inflation drives me insane stressed But the mods aren't going to touch it. I've reported it, along with PMs I've been sent and the admins have made it clear not to interfere. So...blech stressed
