Tough decision...here's my pros and cons of each:
Wii: Pros- Best motion gaming around. Nice nostalgic titles. Party game mentality. Cheapest. Cons- There are few good titles outside of the franchise games. Hard to play for long stretches (arms get tired).
Xbox360: Pros- Lots of titles, even ones they're willing to gamble on. Achievements. Lots of online play. Cons- Most of their games are generic first person shooters, and even most of the well known games are FPS, so there's no variety. Online play costs are ridiculous.
PS3: Pros- Trophies. Free online play. Plays Blu-Ray, DVDs and older gen games. PSN covers PSP as well. Cons- Fewer titles, and most are FPS. Most expensive.
So there's my assessment of the systems. Out of the three, I pick the PS3. I mean, if the compatibility with most discs doesn't sell you, the free online should.

I'm going to also have to side with the PS3 on this one. Brand recognition and familiarity are the names of the game here for me.
For every generation, Nintendo has done something different with possibly the most important piece of the system... The controller (good games can still exist on 'sub-par' hardware0. They went from the blocky NES controller, to the brilliant SNES one, to the "how the ******** do I use this" N64. They reeled it in with the GameCube, and the Wii does it's own thing.
Look at Sony now, they've kept the same design since, what, 1997? When you pick up a PS3 controller, you know where s**t is on that.
The XBox started terribly with it's bludgeoning weapons of initial controllers, but remedied that with the 360.
Onto tech, I honestly don't care about the hardware of the systems. I do my gaming on a 20 year old TV, HD means nothing. But what about fun? I have yet to play extensively on either (don't own either, but friends do) and I find the PS3 experience to be a bit smoother than the 360. Nothing real drastic, hell, I could be imagining it.
A knock, for me, against the 360 is multidisk games... the ones I thought I left behind on the PS1/2 (for Star Ocean: Til The End of Time). I understand that the games are massive, but if you want to boast hardware, improve your disk capacity or something.

PS3 for the sheer fact they have MGS4 and the 360 doesn't.
