I found this question in the A/M/C and I was wondering if anyone could give me an answer because I am really intrigued as well. Why do the Dragons of Heaven have bat wings and the Dragons of Earth have 'angel' wings. Likewise... why are the earths called Angels and the heavens called Seals

I believe that the Harbringers are reffered to as Angels because they are preserving the earth, which was created by God and protected by angels, or something along those lines. And the Seals have demon wings because their goal, in the end, will only bring about destruction.
This is all of course, just opinion. sweatdrop

It's Angels 'cause America is stupid and doesn't want to show anything about religion. The word Harbingers is used in the bible, for along the lines of the devil and the devil owns the Earth, God gave him the Earth. I'll have to find it to tell you about the Harbinger part, but yeah, that's that. sweatdrop

I think they are caled SEALS because they wanna save the Seals of the humans. And ANGELS because angels are the guardians of the world

It is all to connect to the prophesies in the bible and the muslim transcripts of the end of the world. It is really amazing how CLAMP covered so much ground in that topic... read one of the holy books of your religeon. In Shinto they have the Dragons of Heaven and Earth. In the Bible, they are called the Seven Seals that are 'broken' (killed or incapacitated) by the seven Angels. And in Muslim culture, the Harbringers are mentioned. And in christianity, Fuuma is the Antichrist that is described. lol Oh, and each battle occurs in order in which a seal breaking occers in the bible. Such as Yuuto vs Karen (water and fire) or the beast,the collection of man's sin (internet and computers in x/1999 interpretation) DId you notice the numbers 666 appear on satsuki's machine?
Finally, It says the antichrist (or if your muslim, the Dajil) will turn man against man, and extinguish life (fumma's killing sprees and seemingly unstoppable seduction). The end. XD

Sound familiar?

And besides that, we all know that CLAMP is really good when it comes to irony and I believe that X also had its fair share of the irony. When the Angels are being shown, they have angel wings and for the Seals, they have black wings. I think that is because CLAMP somehow wanted to show us another image of an angel that can be evil and that not all that is black is bad....
