Hello my name is Dylan Takado
I happen to be seventeen years old
I can be quick to speak at times but i do know when to shut my mouth. I absolutely love my bestfriend she means the world to me. I live with my mother only since my father was killed in a mining accident. I have been forced to feed my family with the game i catch while illegally hunting.
After my fathers death I had to rely on my hunting skills to keep me and my mother alive. Though we are constantly hungry my hunting keeps me in shape. I have become quite deadly with a bow though i do prefer to use a sword. My mother always worries i would be caught but i never have been yet.

My name is Haylee Leoma I have been alive 16 years. I can be very kind, and overly generous. I know when enough is enough though. I love my father and the kids I give food to, If they weren't here, I would die of sadness. I killed my mom when I was born. My father doesn't blame me, but I still blame myself. I take care of use both and some stray children even though I'm slightly anemic. I hunt for them and also learned different plant uses. What is poison, and what is medicine. From time to time I am almost caught, but I always find a way out. I can climb trees and hide there when I see a guard coming. I use throwing knives. No one knows that. Not even the boy I hunt with. We hunt separately. He knows that I prefer it like that. Appearance:

Dylan had never needed anybody to wake him up. And considering today was the day of the Reaping he really could sleep anyway. His fingers clenched into a tight fist at the thought. Every muscle in his body tensed up as his eyes opened to the cheap, filthy, dark house. The smell of death was everywhere around him now. So many questions filled his mind but he knew he had to get up and meet Haylee at the usual spot. When his body relaxed, Dylan rose and washed his hair with the freezing cold water. As he dried it though he noticed his mother was up. "She should be resting..."
By the time he was dressed he summed up that his mother had left to buy food. Since she knew he would be hunting he had no point of leaving a note or anything so he just left. Along the way out he took a quick look around before dashing for the fence. Because the electricity was never on it made it safe for him to slip under. As he grabbed the bow and arrows he had safely hidden he made a quick mental note he needed to tell his mom.
After a quick jog he made it to the usual meeting place and waited. He spent his whole night praying that she wouldn't get picked but he had this feeling that she would and if that's true then he had decided to volunteer himself to protect her.

Haylee sat in the tree above where she would meet Dylan. What was she to do? She hadn't told him that she had put her name more times in the drawing to get more food. What would he do when he found out? She shook her head. No time to be worrying about that now. If she was picked today, then she would go. After all, if she went no other poor girl would have to go. She was sure she had a chance. If she didn't make it back, everyone could move on. She heard foot steps approaching. Dylan. He must of been up all night. He looked tired. She dropped down from the tree and landed lightly. "It's about time Dylan!" she whispered quietly. "I was beginning to think you had gotten caught." It was their usual joke. They both knew that if one had gotten caught, the other would follow. He didn't know. She was going to volunteer herself for the hunger games. And she would make sure no girl had to go this year who didn't have a chance. She was bound to be picked before she was eighteen anyways.

Crossing his arms in disgust he walks slightly past her. "Give me some credit at least. Getting captured is not something that could happen to me." He laughed slightly before tackling her to the ground playfully. He had to make the situation somewhat friendly. Pinning her to the ground he made sure she was looking at him. "So you ready to get some food? Or you gonna keep thinking about your sweetheart getting captured?" He jumped off and took off in a light run to get away before she chased him.
He hadn't needed to sign up for the extra food but he did anyway. All the food was needed. His mother would need all the food possible if she would survive without him. Sadly though he knew how furious Haylee would be if she knew so he kept it as his own little secret. He was tired though from no sleep which made him slower than usual meaning she could easily catch him.

((sorry! i was called away for a bit.)) "Whatever! Like you're the only boy I hang out with!" She teased, hinting there was another boy in her life. There wasn't, but he didn't know that. She liked Him. But that about as far as she was willing to let it get. She pushed herself off the ground and ran at him. He was never this slow, which meant the reaping was on both their minds. She was right behind him and reached out her hands, grabbing his back. She short stopped, and caused them both to trip and fall. Pushing herself back up into a sitting position she laughed slightly, but then got serious. "Come on we've go to get some food before..." She was sure she didn't need to finish. She stood and looked down at him, offering a hand. "Lets go ok?" They needed to catch enough for a long time....just in case one of them was gone.

Dylan smirked and took the hand. When he was standing he couldn't help but stare into her eyes. This may be the last time for him to tell her, but as soon as his mouth opened he noticed the deer a distance away. With a quick turn around Haylee he sent an arrow through its eyes. He tapped her with his bow as he went up to the dead animal.
"Okay this can get us some good money at the Hob. Let's get more before we leave." As heavy as the dear was Dylan was still able to carry it with his body. He had to put away his bow and arrows but the deer was worth it. "So um let's keep hunting then huh?" He decided to not say anything, it may seem like he's out right saying he's volunteering if he does say anything.

Her face was blank as he shot an arrow past her. They had done stuff like this before, so she just held still. She turned to see what his prize was and was shocked to see a deer. "That was...fast." She was surprised at how quick he was with the bow and arrow every time."Yeah, we'll need it. I'm going to hunt east of here ok? You wanna hunt West?" She hoped he wouldn't make a fuss about her always hunting away from him. He didn't even see how she killed. She turned toward the east and was about to take off running, but then stayed where she was. It was a good time to tell him. She couldn't let some younger girl get picked. She was going to volunteer.
"Hey Dylan..." she took a breath to finish the sentence, but ended up coughing. A piece of dust had flown into her mouth. She waved her hand signaling she was fine. But when he heard what she had to say he was going to say she was insane. She finally got the piece of dust out of her throat she then resumed, planning to run like hell, knowing he would be furious. "Well, um...Dylan there's no easy way to say this..." She took a breath, dust free this time, and exhaled. She felt her heart rate pick up and just blurted it out. "I'm going to volunteer. See you at the reaping!" She ran for it. There way no way he could catch her if he was tired. She hoped.

The shock on his face was enough to show he cared. Before he could even try and catch up he staggered under the weight of the deer, making him fall to his knees. By the time he had tossed the dear off he knew he had no chance of catching up to her so he decided to just sit and hunt from that stationary position.
Throughout his hunting time he thought about what she said. If she is going to volunteer then so is he, meaning one of them will ultimately end up dying at the hands of one another if the do make it to the end together. Throughout his time sitting there he had killed a few rabbits, squirrels and even two turkeys. But his mind was somewhere else when he delivered it all to the Hob and the deer to the butcher where he received an amazing amount this time than any other. He figured it was because of the Reaping today.

She stopped running after awhile. She was safe for now. But she had glimpsed the look and his face. She was sad sure, but it was worth it. He would be safe. She knew the chances of him getting pick were minimal. Even if he had put his name in more then once. She stood and began to hunt, glad for the distraction. She saw a rabbit and reached slowly into her bag. Right when it noticed her she threw on of the many knives she had collected and sharpened over the years. It hit it in the center on its forehead. She collected her prize and continued, collecting three squirrels, a badger, and a few more rabbits. She never killed anything big. It was to much of a hassle killing a deer with a knife, so she stuck to small things. By the time she got to the hob, Dylan was long gone. She breathed a sigh of relief and took the money she was owed, and headed for her house to get ready for the reaping. She peeked her head into her house. "Dad?" she looked around, but couldn't see him. She went into her 'room' and sat on the blankets that were hers. "I may never see these things again...." she stared at the ceiling and sighed. She was probably going to die. She got up and went over to her dad's bed, and set the money underneath his pillow.
"Good lucky daddy..." She had been taking care of him even since her mom had died. But now she was going to disappear into the capital like so many other children. She sighed. The children she had been taking care of would help her dad. She knew they would. She sighed and headed to the square, where the drawing was held. Amongst the crowd, she could see her dad, but didn't call attention to herself. She was looking for Dylan, before he could find her. If she knew where he was she could stay away from him, and maybe avoid a confrontation. Not seeing him she sighed in frustration, maybe he already saw her. She began to walk away from the main crowd. She should take her place with the other girls.

Dylan was standing amongst the crowd of the older generation of male teens. He was dressed in the fanciest clothes he had and obviously stuck out from the rest. His almost green clothes amongst the white and black clothing. When Haylee appeared into his vision he couldn't help but show what looked like sadness mixed with anger. If it was up to him he wouldn't let her volunteer but since he had no choice influencing her choice he'd just volunteer himself.
Some odd women began spinning the ball to pick the girl for this year and Dylan's fingers couldn't help but turn into tight fists as the name popped up as Haylee's. She didn't even have to bother to volunteer, she was the first to go up.

Haylee couldn't believe her luck. She laughed, not the kind of laughter that was happy, but rather a "i wanna cry but can't" laugh. But then she stood up tall and walked up to the podium taking her place beside the announcer. She looked out onto the crowd, staring a few of the children she knew in the face. She would try her best to come back. She really would. But she knew she was one of the people who would never see their homes again. She looked over into the boys crowd, and she ended up looking Dylan right in the eyes. She quickly looked back around to the main crowd. After what she had said, she couldn't look him in the face. It was terrible. She would never see him again. She sighed and then smiled a fake smile. After all. Reaping day was a 'holiday'.

Dylan's face was almost morbid but he made it through. The little boy next to him was not lucky enough though. His name was picked but as he began to pass by, Dylan's hand grabbed him and shoved him back into line. As the large hunter began walking his eyes met with Haylee's.
"I choose to volunteer. The whole town fell silent. They all knew the pair, Dylan and Haylee, and each had a connectiong with the two. The hunters who helped the starving children, the hunters that were more than willing to risk their lives to feed other people were now standing next to each other for the games. One would have to kill the other in the finals.
The women was all giddy even though the town was solemn. Even Dylan who was normally as giddy and happy as the women was quiet with his arms crossed.

Her heart leaped into her mouth as Dylan volunteered. She wanted to scream at him, run up to him and punch him as hard she she could! How could he leave them all?! However, she kept her face blank and her face frozen in a smile. She was as angry as can be. Just because she was picked, he had thrown away his life! She put her hands behind her back and waited for him to join her by the announcer. Her hands were shaking. With fear? Maybe. With anger? That too. Then she realized she was also shaking from excitement. Mentally kicking herself, she thought, 'There's nothing to be excited about!' When he was there the announcer finished up, and they were herded into the train. The person just told them where dinner was and their rooms and left them, not caring if they got there or not. When he was gone she dropped the smile and went over and pushed Dylan as hard as she could, forcing him to hit the wall. Haylee, although small, was very strong for her size. She then made a motion as if she was going to slap him, "Why did you do that Dylan!?!" She shouted at him. She wanted to be here, he didn't need to be. She was so angry, but at the same time happy. She was with someone she knew. However, it didn't mean she was going to accept it. She swung her hand toward his face.
