Tell Me a Story 
What if everything you knew was taken away, every thought, every memory, every feeling you ever known? What if it all just vanished? The year 2020, a time not so distant from now is where our story begins. On the eve of Christmas 2018 a great flash of light and a earth shattering sound consumed the land. The Earth Shook and the waters flooded, volcanoes went off and then nothing. Many died and many others, changed. On this day, everyone lost any memory as to who they were, where they were from and what had happened to their lives. Some how most retained the ability to speak, read and write. This allowed people to re-teach themselves and learn from books what happened in the past, however there are no memories. Things like photographs became more important, diaries more like bibles, and everyone searching for the person they were before.
They have managed to live the past two years, making new lives for themselves, new professions and new existences. But something changed. Some of these people obtained strange powers. Powers over elements, minds, sounds. Anything that one could imagine. But for some reason none of these powers have been duplicated except in one instance. Twins have been known to share the same power as have close siblings and blood related people. With these powers come a price. Each time a person uses his or her power, they must then do something to pay for that power. The most known is 189. After everyone lost their memory he sprung to the top of the list of wanted criminals. 189s power is that of air. He can turn the breathable oxygen into deadly bombs, suffocate people with a single thought or even cause huge gusts of wins and tornado. He is the leader of the resistance against the normal humans. This makes him a dangerous creature. No one knows what his price is because he has managed to evade detection f or so long. No one even knows his face due to the mask he tends to wear when using his abilities.
Why is 189 a criminal one might ask? Because in this new world, power users are the minority and regular people do not like the idea of people who can do such things. 189 was the first person exposed to the world, referred to as number 189 by the people who don't know his true identity.
189 is not the only one in this world with abilities. However his number is known of by many and young contractors often attempt to seek him out in order to find better ways to live. Power users are known as contractors because in order to use their power they must give something up. There is no way to identify a contracted until he or she uses their powers. Human technology has made it possible to detect a contractor within a hundred mile radius with the equipment. The government has made it their duty to obtain the contractors and do one of three things; take away their powers, recruit them for human testing or in the worst case scenario, kill them.
You are not safe.

Tell me who I am 
In this world we have a few different types of people so i am going to lay them down here to clarify what I mean. Everyone is Human, there are no different races like elves or vampires. However there can be powers that make you like these creatures. So what we have is as fallows;
Contractors: People assigned to numbers, like 189. These people can use powers of a strange nature, but no one has ever been recorded to have the same power unless they were twins and such. Each Contractor can choose to use their power or not but if they do then they must pay a price, these also change depending on the people. When they are not using their powers, they are normal people and can not be detected by modern science. However once they do, the computer can pinpoint their location until they stop the use of their powers. Once the power is stopped, they must immediately pay the price. If they do not pay their price, they will die.
Research and Development: A government run program that hunts down the contractors. These are just regular humans with advanced technology. They run the computers that detect the contractors when they use their powers. They catch and detain Contractors like they are criminals and then ship them off to the government to do what ever with them.
Government: The unknown force behind everything. Not much else is known about them other then they wish to get rid of all the Contractors. They also have the technology to erase memories, which they use on ordinary humans who have come into contact with Contractors. Along with this they also have their own set of Contractors. People they have captured and swayed to their ways using either violence of pretty things. These Contractors are used to hunt down other users.
Regular people: Just plain Jane humans who have no clue what is going on. This can include cops, media or your favorite noodle stand vendor. Keep in mind that a few cops know about the whole deal with Contractors,but they are far and few between.
The Resistance: Led by the mysterious 189. No one has ever seen his face. He lives a normal human life but once he returns to home base, the mask is on. The resistance is a small group of Contractors looking to save their way of life. They take in Contractors and teach them how to use their powers and how to live a new life.

 1. I reserve the right to change or add rules as I see fit.
2. I am god, don't mess with my authority
3. No god modding, auto hitting or any of that really annoying stuff. If you are going to kill someone, talk to them and then talk to me I don't want to have inter rp problems with each other now.
4. You can have as many characters as you can handle. However profiles will be pmed to me in order to keep them together.
5. I am generally not picky when it comes to length but complete sentences please, No chat speak and no ** for actions. We want to write in third person with "" for speech kay? I'd like at least a paragraph with four sentences. With at least that much people will be able to respond better.
6. Violence is always good, again it would be best to talk to each other about over the top stuff. Remember the limitations of Gaia, that is all I ask.
7. I like this number
8. Have fun, rps are for fun and a good way to release pent up frustration.
9. Just try to remain active. I know we all have lives, or at least semi lives. I have college and work so i might not be on all the time, however i will do my best because i think we need a change.

Appearance: Kale
Position in the world: Contractor: Kale is the leader of the resistance. He is not known by Kale except for in his normal life. No one knows his real name or appearance. For when he goes to "work" so to say he wears a mask.
Power: The power of air. He can make the air explode, walk on it, create tornado and many other things. He is a user of air and there for is very dangerous. He is most known for his use over air pressure
Price: Kale's power comes with an odd price. Every time he uses it he has to smoke. He doesn't like smoking and in fact he finds it rather annoying and much like a pain in the a**. He tried not to use his power as much as possible simply because he doesn't like the idea of smoking.
Day time job: Kale, when he is not striking a vendetta against the government, works as a book store. He is the head book clerk. One could say he practically owns the store as his father is on his death bed and will leave Kale the store when he dies. It is much like a library, carrying everything from history books to science fiction. This book shop also has a small cafe where people can purchase hot drinks and little treats to eat while they read
Weapon: Kale, or well 189 when he's out, has a gun. A simple hand gun that has no bullets. He doesn't need them as he can concentrate air into the chambers and fire small bursts of air. He hides this while he is working.
Bio: When Kale came too that fateful morning he had only one notion of who he was. There was a sickly man in a room across the hall from him and a single photograph. There happened to be two people, himself and a younger boy. The picture was beside the sickly old man's bed so he took that man on to be his father. With little to no evidence as to who he was before, he picked up his roots and did his best to stay on target with his life.
Kale learned quickly of the way thigns were run and found that he didn't like it. He discovered his powers and then trained himself to use them properly. With no time at all he rose to the top and even became the leader of a rebellion larger than he could ever have guessed.
All seemed well till that photo was brought back into his mind. While out on business he spotted the boy, a younger version of himself, the boy in the picture. The kid was just riding along when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the car. It was moving to fast and he didn't have time to react properly as he was suppose to be hiding. He flicked his wrist and sent a rather large force of air pressure at the car. While he couldn't save the boy completely, he could save him from death. A little box beeped on his belt and he was forced to leave the scene. But not before casting another glance at the stranger who he'd saved.

Appearance: Iris
Position in the world: Contractor; however Iris is in hiding. She works for the government to hide her true abilities, which has worked so far for her.
Power: Electronics. If it has a hard drive or anything to do with technology, she can operate it. She can talk to machines and hack into any system in the world. In some instances she has even been able to make a toaster walk and talk. Her power is a strange one and even she does not yet know it's limitations.
Price: Every time Iris uses her powers she had to eat something after. And it can't be something small like a candy bar either. She requires a large amount of food, so generally she is eating all the time. If she plans on using her powers she will not hesitate to have a large pizza ready on the side.
Day time job: Iris works for the Research and development sector of the g government. While she doesn't have any alliances, she does want to stay under the radar, and what better place than right under the nose of the people trying to get you?
Weapon: Anything electronic can be made into a weapon by this girl
Bio: The first thing Iris remembered was waking up to an empty home. She was alone and frightened. Her powers some how came to be then. A toaster walked up and began to have a conversation with her. Thus she has been able to use her powers ever sense. Figuring out how the world was going, she used her powers and intelligence to join the research and development team under the government to keep herself safe. She is rather intelligent so no one ever notices her. She is currently working on a piece of equipment that will block the current programs from being able to spot contractors.

Appearance: Olive
Position in the world: Contractor, she has no allegiance as of yet.
Power: Mind control - I’m going to explain this to a t. Olive can alter memories, change past events in a person’s mind, change their minds about things and even change who they think they are. She can completely take a person’s mind and turn it upside down. For this she also has the ability to read the persons mind so that altering the memories becomes a bit easier
Price: For a duration after the use of her power, she looses the ability to see for a short while.
Day time job: Olive works part time at Nightshade and little odd jobs around town.
Weapon: Olive doesn’t need a weapon though she does have a butterfly knife in her shoe
Bio: Olive lost her memory like everyone else. She woke up in a empty house, just like many others. She discovered her powers by mistake because she wanted something that she could not afford. She, like so many others, doesn’t know about government agents or others like herself. She just figured she was the only one who changed and she doesn’t dare ask anyone else.

Age: Twenty eight
Appearance: Shiven
Position in the world: Contractor, president of the government, the controller of everything
Power: Blood control. Shiven can control blood and make it move at his will. This can cause a person to die should he use theirs or otherwise cause many other incidents. His full power is not fully understand yet
Price: Shiven must drink the blood of females. That is the price of using his power.
Day time job: Managing the government and using his powers to influence the world. Because he is on the side of the government and the protection of the people. So he is hunting down the others so that they either join him or so that they do not pose a threat to him in the future.
Weapon: Shiven is in love with close combat weapons. So at any given time he could have a knife or two on his body.
Bio: Shiven discovered his powers almost the moment he woke up. And just like that he also found his price. He quickly climbed to the top of the world and turned against those who would other wise fight him. He took over and then began building an empire upon a the pile of rubble he had been given. Now he is the president of the current world and is continuing taking over.

Price: energy (like sprinting wastes more energy)
Day time job: mechanic
Weapon: a chain that hangs on his waist
Bio: When he woke up, the first thing he saw was a picture. A picture of himself and a man of similar height and build. But the face of the man was scratched out and on the back, in big letters, was "SEE YOU SOON". Sam wrote it off as a recent photo. The next day he found out he worked from his cellphone, and went off on his bike to re-learn the car.
A couple of weeks later, Sam almost died from an accident. He was hit by a car on his bike, and before blacking out, he saw a man with a mask. Or at least he thought he did. When he woke, he was in the hospital, feeling a breeze. He was going to ask the nurse to close the window, but the room did not have any. Confused, he slowly moved his hands causing the breeze to change directions. From then on he practiced his power in secret, learning that in a fight he could hide his powers by using a chain or whip. No one he knows know that he has powers.
Other: Tries to hide his powers at all costs

Position in the world: Government Contractor
Power: Materialization: The ability to make things appear out of thin air. This is only a manner of speaking. To be able to do this, he has to have contact with the desired object at least once. Second, he would have to know its location with out a doubt. For this he depends on the government for support, by using the weapons and equipment that they supply him in a room that he visits before missions.
Price: He becomes unconscious some time after. This depends directly with the weapon that he summons. A small pistol forces his price a hour later. A large weapon like a sniper or grenade launcher is 10 minutes.
Day time job: Government pay
Weapon: What ever the government gives him to use.
Bio: When Ryder woke up he was standing upright while holding a gun in his hand. Around him were several dead bodies with several bullets in them.
Other: He idolizes 07 and does not take work seriously.

Appearance: Sarah
Position in the world: Contractor
Power: Telepathy
Price: Immobility. Once she uses her powers, she has to remain still until her body is ready to move again. If she forces herself to move while her body is recovering, she has severe seizures.
Day time job: She owns and bar tends the bar below her apartment.
Weapon: She has a pistol within reach at all times at the bar. Can't be too careful. Other than that, her powers are all she has.
Bio: Sarah woke up in a small apartment she soon learned was her own. She had no idea who she was or what happened. It seemed no one else knew either. Sarah was at a loss as to what to do.
She discovered the empty bar and decided to make a living out of that. Many people came to the bar, trying to drink away their sorrows after losing their memories. It didn't take long for Sarah to accidentally discover her powers and, of course, her price. The doctors thought she just had epilepsy but she realized better. She does her best to keep it a secret though, using it only if it would benefit her.
Other: She blacks out every time she has a seizure

Price: One tattoo is burned from his flesh each time he uses his power. The flesh can heal but ever so slowly but the tattoo upon his flesh can never appear again which is where his compulsion to tattoo himself and others.
Day time job: Tattoo artist.
Weapon: Dan wesson 714, throwing knives
Bio: He doesn't know much of anything besides his name and age.
Other: obsessive compulsive to give himself tattoos. And design tattoos for others at first meetings

Power: Super-Speed
Price: Fit of blind rage, ranging from 5 minutes to an hour, depending on the intensity of the power used.
Day time job: Working for the government
Weapon: Double-pistol
Bio: All Darian remembers is one day being able to go fast. And whenever he did, he would be overwhelmed with fits of uncontrollable rage. In one instance, it was so intense, Darian did not regain his senses until he was standing in the center of a massacre. Coming to the conclusion of that he and the others who had abilities just like him were too dangerous to be left uncontrolled. He decided to work for the government to ring in these potentially dangerous individuals to have them isolated.
Other: Darian's eyesight are incredibly good, and his glasses are merely a show. He does not need prescription glasses, yet he insists on wearing them, as he has worn them ever since he could remember.

Appearance: Gemma "Red" Zenohart

Power: Healing
Price: She must sing constantly simultaneously with her healing in order to have her powers activated. And she must have an audience of at least one person. This is easy while healing another person, but she cannot heal herself if there are no one near to hear her sing.
Day time job: She runs a local clinic. This also helps her with her front, as it is natural for people to go to a clinic to get better.
Weapon: She has a pistol that was given to her by a special person. However, she has it stored in a drawer, and has never even touched it.
Bio: Gemma didn't know how, but she knew she had professional medical training in her life before the loss of her memories, as she started performing emergency medical treatment of others as far as she could remember. But one instance she was getting caught up from fatigue and started to sing to muster up the mental strength to go on. But the moment she started to sing, the wound that she was bandaging started to seal itself together.
Other: Despite using her powers on a regular basis, she has been able to stay under the radar of the government. Rumors have it that this was because she had a connection with a government contractor.

Position in the world: Resistance Contractor
Power: Brute Strength. His strength is said to equal that of 20 men.
Price: He must completely untie his shoe laces, completely removing them from the shoe and tying them back in.
Day time job: He runs a hardware shop of his own, and performs house calls as a handyman.
Weapon: Benjamin tries to stay out of battle, but when he charges into a fight, he equips himself with a sledgehammer in his hands.
Bio: Benjamin remembers the first memory as standing at the counter of a hardware store, which he only assumed was his. But for the life of him, he just couldn't remember anything from before. In his confusion, he wandered into the streets, to make some sense. He found a young man being cornered by a crowd of gangsters and intervened. He knew he was a powerful man, but he was startled when he found out that he had strength that was far beyond that of any human beings. And equally surprised when he was overwhelmed with the urge to separate his shoe laces and tie them back in.
Other: Even without tapping into his strength, Benjamin is a very powerful man in his own rite. He has no problem swinging his hammer without difficulty

Appearance: Mes Senful
Position in the world: Government Contactor – Who hunts down and kills contractors which the government find distracting.
Power: Electricity – The power to conduct large amounts of electrical current within Mes’s body, which can be used as a large bursts of energy, smaller controlled weapons such as swords.
Price: Drinking. Since the beginning Mes’s curse has been the consumption of alcohol until he at least gets a buzz. However when Mes begins to drink, he hast a hard time from stopping and often ends up being wasted.
Day time job: Since Mes discovered his powers, he was roped into the government and he is a content ‘lap dog’.
Weapon: As his power is subject to him being somewhat close to his target, Mes has trained his own body for the use of a weapon, meaning he can normally kill someone with his own hands without his powers.
Bio: When Mes awoke, he found himself in a pile of his own blood in a open field, the fleeing memories of his past spilled out just like that of his own blood. He was lucky to have survived, being saved by a man that was near him. Mes and the stranger stayed within the safety of the field for nearly three days for Mes’s wounds might open again. It was the night of the third day when a group of men came into the field, drawn in by the fire which the stranger had lit for him and Mes.
They came with strange powers, each one different and more frightful then the last. Mes watched as the stranger was torn from limp to limp, the blood from the man spilling across Mes’s body and face. The fear trembling deep within Mes, and something within his body snapped, the fear changed into trembling power, one that unleashed itself against those that had slain Mes’s only friend. Nearly another week passed before Mes could actually move from the scene, after that Mes became somewhat of a famous person hunting down his own kind for the death of his friend.
Within a year Mes became a contractor for the government, one that worked to destroy contractors that got out of hand. His cold and rational manner made him the perfect person for any jobs that required no questions asked and at the end of the day there would only be bloodshed left behind. While he is not nearly as famous as number 189, as he is a perfect little ‘lap dog’ and the government make sure to keep out of the spot-light.
Other: He has a strange fear of cats.
