Mercedes Lackey (who I'll probably refer to as ML most of the time, just FYI) has written a LOT of books, even just withing the Valdemar series. Which ones are your favorites?
As some of you MAAAY have guessed, the Last Herald-Mage (TLHM) is my favorite by far. There's just... something about Vanyel, I guess.
By the Sword is my second favorite, because Kero is so butt-kickingly awesome. After that, Tarma and Kethry, and then everything else. heart
What about you?

The original three (Queen's Arrow trilogy) are my favorites. The Exile Trilogy is the second, followed by Burning Brightly.

Enfori The original three (Queen's Arrow trilogy) are my favorites. The Exile Trilogy is the second, followed by Burning Brightly. Really? I like them quite a lot, but the dialogue was always a little wierd for me. It felt like she was trying too hard to make them sound medieval.

For me it was more that I was 10 and a lot of the story struck well with me. I'd have to say part of why I am how I am.

Because they were the first ones I read, and I was about that age, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be the same person without Valdemar. ...Well, I wouldn't be Bard Kayna Ashkevron, anyway. And that character/persona/alter ego/whatever is a pretty big part of who I am.

Enfori We wouldn't know if we were each other, would we? ...Well, let's see. Do you have a slightly creepy obsession with Vanyel Ashkevron? Do you think that Lord Havelock Vetinari is one of the coolest people ever? Do you want to be a writer? Does That One Scene With The Peas in The Realms of the Gods (by Tamora Pierce) make you squee every time you read it? Are you a Battlestar Galactica fan? Are you going to GeekGirlCon in October? If so, are you very excited? I would answer yes to all of the above.

***snickers slightly at the idea of Kayna trying to figure out if Enfori is Kayna...***
if she were you, wouldn't you know?
Fav books? tough... I think Black/White/Silver Gryphon tie with Storm Warning/Rising/Breaking. Followed closely by Arrows and Exile books... followed by Magic's Pawn/Promis/Price and Brightly Burning. sweatdrop that only covers half the books, eh?
Fav Characters come in a slightly different order, Alberich and and Altra top the list with Warrl, Dirk & Talia , Karal & Natoli, and Savil, oh and those Shin'a'in warhorses close behind smile

Definitly. I so bawl every time I read about Altra crying over not being able to save Ulrich.

Come on, Talia heart Also, learn more about peoples, read my bio I'm not female. See, the thing about Dissociative Identity Disorder is that you don't always know if you have a secondary personality.

Bard Kayna Ashkevron Sergeant Perks Brightly Burning. heart Nuff said. Haha, really? I thought you'd be a Kerowyn person. Remind me again, who's Kerowyn? I haven't read all the books, and the ones I did read I read before 2008... then I moved... and my new library doesn't have them! crying I'd order them online... if I ever had money... Pratchett books take my book funds, and if not them, then Robin Hobb's newest when it comes out in paperback!
