As I'm sure you're all aware, this guild is rather new. Like, extremely new. I value member feedback rather highly, as I'm pretty new to guild-running myself.
So, are there any suggestions you have as to how this guild should be run/what kind of guild this will be? I'm especially looking for suggestions for new forums, as I'd like to have a few more than we have now. Perhaps one for Mercedes Lackey's other books? One for her music? One for fanfiction/fanart, probably.
Also... do you guys want to have an RP? I have NO IDEA how to set one up-- I'd probably delegate as much of that as possible to Sergeant Perks, here-- but if you guys don't want one, then I won't bother. Inactive RPs are no fun.
Contest ideas are appreciated also, as I'll probably host a few when we get more members to participate.
And feel free to make new threads! I want us to be an active, friendly, FUN guild, not one that just sits there.
Suggest things. Please.

I think a subforum for her other books would be great. If you need to look at an example of a good book guild, study the Shades of Ankh-Morpork. Maladict has done a splendid job with that one.

The main forum page should be for general chat about the guild's topic (in our case, Mercedes Lackey) and guild-specific topics should be in a sub-forum. Most users will never care about how the guild is run, only about talking with others.

Heh, hope my age doesn't show here, the subforums shouldn't just be made, they should be created when any one topic is common enough to warrant an entire forum dedicated to it.

You're probably right, but I already bought all these forums and you can't get a refund. I'm all done now-- the forums we have are the forums we are going to have unless we decide we need more-- but I can't make less

I have guilds that delegate an entire subforum to roleplays, you can do that. Just create it and let people make their own with other fans, this way we can roleplay with people that have read the books, and you can make roleplays on not only with the Heralds but her other series as well. You can make even a thread right there were people can post their characters and the like. That could be a good idea.

i used to own a Valdemar RP guild - specific threads for specific areas are a good idea if you want people to roleplay. structure is key, as well as a good place to post profiles. Rules to - like what is acceptable and what isn't. because this guild isn't completely encompassed by roleplaying it won't be too hard to keep control and order. It might be a little difficult to get people started on it though...
thats my imput.
