it is a japanese manga series by Hiro Mashima (who was also the mangaka of RAVE/ Rave Master) .
The series follows the adventures of the celestial spirit mage Lucy Heartfilia after she joins the Fairy Tail guild and teams up with Natsu Dragneel, who is searching for the dragon Igneel.

i haven't seen the anime version yet but im reading the latest chapters nung manga. We are all free to discuss anything Fairy Tail here smile

prolly cause hiro mashima was the mangaka who created rave master polus he was an apprentice of oda eiichiro (one piece's mangaka).
apart from the art, the story is way different from the two mangas stated tho biggrin
