 Mizuhime was sitting outside the tribe's guest tent, seemingly patient but writhing with impatience and irritation on the inside.
Where is that kitsune? He or she was supposed to be here an hour ago. I swear, if they're being late on purpose because I'm small...
Her fur bristled slightly as this thought crossed her mind, but she forced herself to visibly calm, trying to calm her mind as well. Several of her fellow tribeskits came to check on her and encourage her, sure that surely things would go well. She smiled inwardly, they meant so well, she would surely do well with the meeting, whatever this kitsune wanted.

 Kouhei had found that to continue his inventing, one had to have connections. Which, ofttimes meant meeting with other kitsune to discuss territorial boundaries and the collection of materials. This particular meeting, he had almost completely forgotten about, having become engrossed in one of his many experiments. Sure that he was late by now, Kouhei entered the Mizu Clan lands fighting down a sense of trepidation.
Most times the kitsune he met with were much larger than him and at best he could expect derogatory remarks concerning his short stature and at worst.. well, it usually resulted in a swift kick to his bottom that would send him flying a fairly impressive distance. With that thought in mind, he approached the guest tent.. and nearly tripped when he saw that the kitsune waiting there was no bigger than he was.
Clearing his throat, he began with a tentative, "Excuse me? I'm here to speak with Mizuhime.."

Mizuhime had to stop herself from physically showing the massive relief she was feeling. To be working with another chibi! It was a blessing from the Water Goddess! Hopefully this wasn't simply a messenger, she had seen other chibis forced into servitude like that before.
"I am Mizuhime, leader of this clan. You are the one that made the appointment with me, yes? How can my clan help you?"

Kouhei blinked but quickly hid his surprise, adjusting his goggles. "Yes, I'm the one that arranged to meet with you," he replied then introduced himself, bowing slightly to her. "It isn't really assistance I'm looking for, though. You see, I am an inventor. And I am always on the lookout for new materials and compounds to use in my experiments. I simply sought permission to search for said materials on your lands."

Mizuhime had conflicting feelings about this Normally she would be wary that someone asking this was trying to take advantage of her stature and steal excessively from her lands, but she thought surely another chibi wouldn't do this. Either way, she realized, she can't be too trusting. This land was her responsibility.
"You may have access to our lands, but I have the right to tell you to stop if I feel you are damaging our land."
She hoped this sounded fair to her guest, she could always use more allies, certainly inventors, and especially ones her size. She really wanted to form allies, but not at the expense of her own land.
