I've heard about it and am thinking about buying it but since I didn't play the first one chances are I'll be very confused.

I just recently bought the first one. It's a really good game so far. It definitely gives me the jumps, lol.

Watch Dead Space: Downfall first. Play Dead Space next. That should get ya to the point of 2.

Many of the parts of the movie aren't up. But from I can gather its just killing kinda like Splatterhouse.
