This is the big time. Not a city, not a village...but a kingdom. This is the big time. All of the Royals are here, along with some of the poorest out there. There is much theivery as well. Beware, corruption rules the land.

*Mati walks around the kingdom, looking at it as if it were the first time and not the last. Her selfish and rich parents had kicked her out, wanting her to make a living instead of just inhereting. Mati had cried all that last night in her home and still had to get this morning and walk out the door for the last time. She wished she knew where to go, and knew someone who could go with her, but she knew neither. And so looking at her beloved home, she walks away from it all.*
*leaves the kingdom*

*Reenters kingdom*
*Walking ten yards way from the kingdom, Mati turns around and goes back, not wanting to leave her home just yet. She walks toward her house but stops. Her parents are in a cariage, when it blows up! Body parts and blood fly everywhere. Blood splatters across Mati's face, who was standing but ten feet away. Shocked and horrified, she stands still. People gather to see what happened. No one said anything, just looked at Mati. By now, Mati was on her knees crying. Someone placed there hand around her, and she proceeded to cry on that person's shoulder. People were now talking.*
"what happened?"
"did the child see it all?"
"what does this mean?"
"with their death, doesn't that mean she now owns everything they did?"
*Luck seemed to be on Mati's side, for out of the crowd came her aunt. This lady knelt by Mati strocking her hair.*
"My little angel, Mati. Your parents are gone, and all that they had now belongs to you. Do you realize what that means?"
*Mati shock her head* "No. I don't know what any of this means. why did my parents have to die? Why did they send me away this morning? Did they know this was going to happen?"
*Mati's aunt shock her head* "I don't know. But I believe they knew what they were doing. Mati, you are their only heir, their only child. And though they seemed selfish and self-centered all the time, they loved you with all the love parents have for their children. Mati all they had is yours now. The house, their money,one third of the kingdom, the horses, everything. Oh, Mati, darling, your parents left you everything."
*Mati looked up* "You were naming everything my parents owned...One third of the kingdom? But that would mean...."
"Yes, Darling. If the royal family were ever to die, you would be next in line. Isn't that amazing?"
*Mati looked her aunt in the eyes* "No. That isn't amazing. That gives everyone here a reason to kill my parents! Don't you see? The king only has one heir, and if that person is killed, next in line was my parents, and then me, someone is after the thrown and is killing people to get there. Are you not next in line after me? For all I know you could be the one who set this all up!"
*Mati stood up* "As long as I stay here, my life will be in danger. This I have come to understand. But to all that will attempt to kill me, be forwarned, my parents made sure that I would not be a victum of any act of selfishness. I can defend myself, and if the need arises, I will."
*Mati walks through the crowd and into her parents five floor house, sighing heavely. She locks the doors and bars the windows on every floor including the attic and the basement. She takes a shower to rid herself of the blood that had splattered on her face, and to calm herself too. Then goes to her room on the third floor and collapses on her bed crying.
"Why? I feel as if I killed them myself in my angry toward being kicked out. My strength is weakening and I feel as though I just use magic. Magic of the darkest kind. I know, I can not stay here, but this place is my home. How can I leave it? I must seek help, I need to know if it was me, who caused the explosion in anger or if someone set it up and is now after me."
*With these thoughts on her mind, Mati went into a troubled sleep, dreaming of her parents blaming her for their deaths*

*Mati wakes up in a sweat, and can't remember everything that happend that day.*
"Mum? Da? Are you here?"
*Tears rolled down Mati's face as the events of this morning came crashing in around her*
"Oh, goddess, I still can't believe that they're gone."
*Mati got up and walked out of her room. More tears rolled down her face as she walked down stairs and passed her parents' room. On the ground floor Mati went to the kitchen and looked around. It was hard to believe that this place, and every home for miles around was hers. Opening the pantry, she made mental notes on what she might need to buy. Before closing the door, she took an apple and walked to the table. She placed the apple at her mouth and stopped, suddenly aware that she was no longer alone in her home. She put the apple down and spun around.*
"Who's in my house? Show yourself, now!"
*She walked to the weapons' room, (which was convinently located next to the kitchen stare wonder why twisted ) Mati looked around the room making sure no one was there. Then she went to her trunk at the corner of the room and opened it. She kept an eye on the doors, while she pulled out her sword. Her samari sword, which she had won in a tornament. She unshethed it and proceeded to check the house for the intruder. In her parents room she stopped, sensing more than seeing that the intruder was there. She rushed in, sword in hand, to find her aunt there sitting on the bed smiling, with what looked like a home made stick of dynimite.*
"What are you doing here? And how did you get in?"
"Simple, I got in through the secret passage from the back yard to this room. And I am here to kill you, my sweet little angel."
"So it was you?!"
"Of course it was me. Your power is great, but I got to them before you did. I had invited them to my house, even sent them a cariage to come in. Of course the carriage had one of these in it, and a timer so that when they opened the door they would explode. Lucky them. Unfortunately, they knew that I was really after you and your power, so they sent you away. They knew their time in this life was coming to an end so they made you their heir, instead of me."
"You killed my parents, you die now!"
*Mati charged at her aunt with a force so strong it would have killed even the strongest glatiator. But her aunt had thought of this and dogded the attack with ease. Mati knew then that this fight would be hard if she kept striking in anger. automatically, Mati let her sword drop two inches and closed her eyes. Her aunt took the chance and ran toward Mati pulling a knife out of her skirt and aiming for Mati's heart. Mati heard her aunt getting closer, when the woman was only three feet away, Mati swong her sword with the agility of a rabbit and the strength of a bear. Her aunt fell to the ground in two pieces. Blood once again splattered onto Mati's face, but also on the floor, the walls, the bed, and on her clothes. Mati looked down at her dead aunt, whose guts were now littering the floor. Mati sighed.*
"Damn, now I have to clean this mess up. Better do it now, before it starts to rot and stink."
*Mati went to the kitchen and brought back a bag and clean up the mess*
"It's going to take days to clean up all this blood by hand."
*Mati knew what she had to do. She closed her eyes, and summoned the power within her, thinking 'Fire,' the blood burst into flames and slowly burnt away. when the blood was gone, the fire vanished. Mati sighed, and walked to the bathroom, and took another shower to rid herself of the blood that had hit her. She dressed and put her hair up. Mati took her sword and sheshed it and went back into her room. She got on the bed, and went to sleep clutching her sword.*

*Mati gets up rubbing her eyes. She sense that she is not alone. Picking up her sword, she searchs her home once again.*
"Who's in my house?" *Mati called into the darkness*
"I am" *echoed through the house*
*Mati froze. She knew that voice but she was not sure from where.*
"Don't be scared child, I am here to help you" *the voice said*
"Who are you?"
"You may call me; sensei."
"Explain yourself, and what you are doing in my house!"
"I am your guardian, your godfather, your parents sent me a letter telling me that they would die soon. They wanted me to teach you more magic, and how to fight without a sword. In time my name will be revealed to you, by a stranger, but do remeber it was I who gave you my shoulder to cry on."
"You're the stranger from the street? No wonder I thought I knew your voice."
"You heard my voice when you were little too. I was the one who would sing you to sleep when you were just three."
*Tears now filled Mati's eyes as she remembered how it use to be. Mama, papa, and uncle.*

*terasu stood on the balcony and over looked his newly gained kingdom. his parents were....mysteriously...murdered and with that, power was left upon him. the papers and tabloids went through stories of how his little brother was also mysteriously missing after a family outing many years into his youth. Terasu stretched out his long white angelic wings...*Mine...allll mine. hah..i dont miss any of them...goodbye Ryu...

*Mati searched for the voice, realizing that it had come from her parents' room.*
"I ask again, why?"
"Your parents knew that they would die. And that your aunt was planning to take over the kingdom. She need them out of the way, along with the king and the queen. But she seems to have forgotten their eldest son. He is now king. His younger brother has been missing for years, and I believe that she was responsible for that. Your parents sent me this letter yesturday before, they died. It reads:
we have not spoken in much time, but we ask of you, we beg of you, protect our child from dangers that should not be. train her in the ways of magic. and show her that there are many more things you can do without a sword. teach her better, than you have taught us. She might not believe you, so show her this. she is after all, not of our blood, but of yours. we tried to be the best parents that we could for her, but we were only godparents. you are her father, and she will know that when she sees you. protect that which you had given up
*Mati stays quiet*

*Mati walks to the window of her parents' room and looks out at the kingdom.*
"I still don't believe you. and I wouldn't believe that you're my real father. I can't see how someone can leave their only child in the care of others, and never visit them unless their gaurdians die. The current king who ever he maybe is in a great amount of danger. Much more than I am. You should think about protecting him and not me."
"As much as I would like to protect my brother, I won't. You are my daughter. And if my brother should die, you are the next in line for the thrown, that is if he has no heirs. I am here to protect the princess of this kingdom, and I will do just that whether I have your promission or not. And whether you like it or not, I am your father."
"If you're the kings' brother then you would know if my aunt stole you away or not. and if you are my father you can answer this riddle with ease:
I have no locks, and no hinges, no bolts, and no gold, but within my pure white walls, a wonderful treasure lies. What am I?"
"An egg."

"Sir, we have just received notice that there is a bounty on you...it is nothing big, only an investigation warrant."
Fine...do what you must and welcome the company. I will take care of business myselft...
*the servant went off to his business as terasu did his own as well...*
I have an ominous feeling about this...

*Mati looks away from the kingdom and to the man standing in front of her*
"I still have my suspicions, but there is no doubt that my parents sent you. whether I am of your blood or not I still don't know."
*The man sighed with frustration* "Tell me, how can I make you believe that I am your father?"
*Mati shook her head.* "What you do, is far more important than what you say. You can prove yourself in your actions. But it may not make any difference. To me, they will always be my parents. They raised me, when (if I go by your story) you could not. They cared for me. They watched me grow. And it pains me far more to have watched them die, then it would if it had been you."
*Struck by Mati's harsh almost unloving words, the man stepped back, in a great deal of emotional pain.* "Mati, you are of my blood, and you are my daughter. But I have no proof of this. so at least allow me to teach you, what I know of magic."
*Mati nodded slowly* "There is no proof that I am what you say I am but your own word. But I will allow you to teach me, more magic. After all, it was my parents dying wish."
"Very well, we will start tomorrow."
*Mati goes to her room and locks the door. She walks to her bed and falls into it, still holding her sword.*

"Oh, goddess...as if I was tormented enough; now I must watch my parents die day after day."
*There was a knock on the door*
"Are you okay?" came the man's voice.
"I'm fine, I just wish I couldn't dream while I slept."
*Mati growned and got out of bed to open the door*
"What happened?"
"Well, to say the very least, I got to witness my parents get blown up again and I'm not feeling too happy about it."
"I'm sorry. I guess the horror is still too near for you to sleep peacefully. But rest assure you killed their murderer."
"Good night."
"Sleep tight."
*Mati closed the door and went back to bed.*

*she jumps on a house and see three travelers walking along the road* "looks like a simple bunch" *she jumps off of the house's roof and land straight in front of them "hello strangers, i'm new here can you give me a hand where to go to get to the palace?"
